Don't be put off by the 1 star on the door. The hotel looks shabby from the outside but the room and bathroom were very clean, the bed was comfortable and the towels were soft. Good shower. The staff were helpful & friendly (it maybe helped that I can speak French). Breakfast cost 8€ and for that you got cereal, juice, yoghurt, fruit compote, baguette & jam, croissant & tea, coffee or chocolate. Considering many French hotels don't offer breakfast at all, this was good value.
WiFi & the door code to let yourself in at night.
A bit of a trek from the station but close to the Abbaye aux Hommes and a 5 minute walk from the tram once we'd figured it out (goes direct to the station).
Check-in is only between 5-8pm. We arrived at 3.30 having walked for half an hour from the railway station in pouring rain, so this was disappointing.

Breakfast was very good vfm. Quickly served.
Beverly was excellent...welcomed us, found places for our bikes, very apologetic about previous visit - although this was not her fault in any way .

Staff were excellent when we arrived but nobody on night duty to stop the people in adjacent room keeping me awake all night!
No night staff . Nextdoor bedroom was crazy Very!! Very loud music 11pm - 12 pm, dreadful shouting, vomiting and crying from 12pm -5am.

Beverly was so friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. Everything was tastefully done and it was very clean. The hotel is in a great location, close to good places to eat and beautiful old buildings. Would definitely stay here again.
Nothing.

One step inside the door was one step too many
It was not a hotel, it was rooms in a back street

Breakfast delicious. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Location close to restaurants and cultural sites. Neighbourhood feel.
Room small.

The charming old building with wooden stairs and the renewed toilet, two windows in the room and another in the toilet, we stayed on the last floor, really quiet location, didn't hear noise at all, although near restaurants and the center. About half an hour walking to the memorial. Good breakfast, really nice staff.
No elevator. The first night was really hot but the windows helped a bit to refresh the room.

I loved it, gorgeous old building, lovely friendly staff who had great English. The room was comfortable and had everything I needed. Nice intimate breakfast where I chatted and interacted with other guests.
Not a lot, I thought this place was excellent

The hotel location near city center was great.

A cute little hotel in the middle of Caen. Beautiful place to be at! The girl at the reception was helpful and lovely, the room was clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was okay too. Being an old building, the hotel does not have elevators, so it's good to consider that. Good WiFi connection. All in all, it was a great stay and I would definitely come back.
I guess by that price they could include breakfast.

The location was perfect. It was very clean and well maintained and the staff was friendly.
We arrived in the early afternoon and were not able to even drop off our bags because the place appears to be shut tight between noon and 5:00 pm.

Teh breakfast is overpriced.

I loved my room, many little lights, bed was super comfortable and the bathroom really clean.
I didn't quite understand the concept that the hotel is open from 5pm. But i called the number on the door and they kindly let me in.

Location & staff were friendly
Room was extremely small and obviously had not been decorated since wartime. Room is not the one shown in your picture. No toilet paper and had to ask for clean towels on 3rd morning.

Well located right down, very nice staff, feels like your revisiting the past, walking distance to all that is POI in the vicinity.
Can be noisy on Friday/Saturday night up to 4am, with kids it’s a bit hard to ensure they sleep without getting woken up.

A Traditional french feel

- The location was awesome;
- The friendliness of the staff;
- The breakfast was OK, but not really special.
- The WiFi connection wasn't good at some times, or it could take a while before it was working again;
- The room was pretty hot, it was a pity there wasn't any airconditioning.
