Welcoming, happy, safe, outstanding!

Beautiful warm welcome by Cath our host, lovely big room with garden outlook, great breakfast, convenient location with bus to town in 10 minutes at front door, on site parking.

A great location, just out of the hustle and bustle of the city centre

The hosts were absolutely wonderful. On arrival Cathy provided us with lots of information on Edinburgh, where to go and what to do and provided us with details on the bus routes that got us right into the centre of town. The bus stop location couldn't be more convenient, it really is right outside the hotel and they come very frequently with lots of options so you're right into town quickly. Our bedroom was very comfortable and though on the warmer side, there was plenty of ventilation which was just fine for us. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was a lovely, lighter start to the day with fruit or pastry options alongside a selection of cereal options and yoghurt.

Our room was on the top floor which could make it fairly warm, but this was a very minor flaw and not one that could be helped. Just worth noting for anyone who may find sleeping in heat in the summer a problem. Our room didn't have a standing shower due to it's shape, but again this was not really an issue for us.

Bien mais ne vaut pas le prix excessif…

Belle maison de style. La propreté, la gentillesse de la propriétaire, le petit déjeuner parfait. Sans oublier la proximité du centre historique, facilement atteignable en bus (arrêt juste devant la maison).

Notre chambre au 2ème étage n’avait pas de douche, mais une baignoire sous mansarde. Compliqué de prendre une douche pour une grande personne comme moi… Mais j’aurai du lire mieux l’annonce… Très faible débit wifi, alors qu’au 1ere étage et rez-de-chaussée, on captait super bien. Enfin faible débit d’eau, surtout lorsqu’on souhaite se laver les mains après avoir tiré la chasse d’eau.

A beautiful home with an incredible host.

A beautiful old home, in a lovely neighborhood. Bud stop very close by. A short walk to a shopping center. Cath was a fabulous host who went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and welcome.

A home away from home with wonderful hosts.

Great location on a regular bus route to/from the city. Beautifully maintained property with comfortable spacious room. Breakfast of a very high standard with delicious fresh fruit continental choices as well as cooked options.

It was brilliant! Highly recommend!

There are no cooked breakfast offered and by the third morning we were starting to want something a bit different, however the fruit platter was beautiful, the pastries were lovely and there was toast and cereal available as well as usual drinks. There is a car park at the front of the house. The bus stop is right outside, there are buses all the time and so easy to use and get in the city! It was a perfect location. The host was fab - kind warm and helpful! I would definitely recommend it!

I think if there could have been a hot option for breakfast even if it was only breakfast baps.

Very good

The location was excellent, friendly host, gorgeous house, huge room with everything we needed with lovely period features.

The pillows were a bit hard for our liking although I know this is a personal taste.

Very good

Room was bright airy and large overlooking the garden. Ensuite was modern and lovely. Owners very friendly and helpful. Buses excellent into city centre. Breakfast was nice but you don't get a cooked breakfast only continental incl fruit cereal and yoghurt, Danish.

Mattress was too soft for us as we like a firm one and could be updated .

Fabulous!

Very comfortable BandB in an excellent part of Edinburgh. Quiet despite being on a busy road. Parking in side st if you can’t get into the drive. Bus stop right outside with frequent and quick rides to the city centre. Good eateries nearby! Especially like the Old Bell Inn.

Alba house is an authentic, traditional Bed and Breakfast. It is a charming house and hostess was very helpful.

Brilliant stay. Will definitely stay there again.

Lovely house and the room was clean and bed was comfortable. The Owner is lovely and was so helpful with information on bus route and where to go in Edinburgh to eat out. The continental breakfast was lovely.

Gorgeous rooms close by to the city centre, with a lovely attentive host.

The house, room, Cath and the breakfast all exceeded our expectations. The property was also much closer to central Edinburgh than we were expecting, a 7 minute bus journey which is capped at £5pp per day so you can go back and forth all day for no more than £5. The bus stop is DIRECTLY outside the property. 24/7 access to the property with a key code in a lovely, quiet neighbourhood. Cath was absolutely lovely and took the time to speak to everybody at breakfast daily, asking what your plans were and to give advice and recommendations if you needed it. The house was gorgeous and the room far larger than we expected from the photos, it felt very grand, with a lovely modern en-suite. Breakfast choices could be made for each day and we always left feeling lovely and full. Would definitely stay here again.

Very nice host. The room was very clean and cosy, we did not miss anything while we stayed there. We booked the room for one week. There is a bus stop right next to Alba House so it is very easy to get there.

Cosy and quiet!

Really nice place to stay on your trip to Edinburgh, very quiet and out of the way but still close to city centre and there's a bus stop right outside. Cathy was a lovely host as well and the breakfast included was first class. Would stay here again if we go back to Edinburgh!

Great stay, worth the money, wonderful host and really clean

I really like the host. She was absolutely lovely and really helpful about the city's attractions and how to get around.i likes the rooms and it was really clean which I appreciated.

I would have liked a hot breakfast which I thought it was from the advertisement so maybe either state that its a cold breakfast or have a hot breakfast option if possible. Nothinf crazy just like egg, mushroom and sausage maybe?. I like the room but would have appreciated warmer blankets or throws. Got a bit chilly in the night. The shower is a bit tricky and water was cold one of the days but may have been once off issue.

Peaceful stay in a beautiful Victorian house.

The guest house was close to bus link into Edingburgh 6 buses too choose from.About 20mins journey .We parked in the drive which was ideal Peter and Cath the hosts are a lovely couple who gave us a warm welcome .We had room 3 too the back of the lovely walled garden.It was very peaceful .The bed was a Queen and ever so comfy .I really liked the pillows .The room had good wardrobe space we only stayed 2nights a longer stay still ample space in the two closets .We had a nice large tv .Kettle ,tea bags ,coffee , the on suite shower room was fair size a large shower which was very good power good too .We had a continental breakfast .Choice of fresh fruit plate which was delicious .There is also a pastry option with 4 mini pastries.We shared pastries and the fruit plate .Tea ,coffee,orange juice , apple juice , Toast, It was a very nice breakfast which you preordered on the evening before .The House was spotless .We both enjoyed our stay and would stay again if we are in Edingburgh.

Thank you for a lovely stay in Edinburgh!

The hosts were incredibly hospitable and friendly, offering lots of suggestions as to how to spend our time in the city. Our flight was significantly delayed and they stayed up to greet us. This b&b is situated a 15 minute bus journey from the city centre and is well serviced by multiple buses. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and absolutely spotless. A delicious complimentary breakfast was a great touch! Everything was perfect.

Cath was a lovely, welcoming host - she offered me a larger room than I'd paid for as it was a quiet weekend, which was very kind of her. The room was spotless and super comfortable, with nearby buses to the city running every few minutes.
