Food in the restaurant was very good. The location was beautiful.
The room just wasn’t clean. The skirting boards were scuffed and dusty. The room wasn’t cleaned daily. The decor was very tired. The hospitality tray wasn’t replenished. There was mould around the bath.

The food at The trout tadpole bridge was good. I knew they served yoghurt with their granola but when I asked for yoghurt on its own I couldn’t have it.
The room was not clean and it was not serviced properly day to day.
Some of staff were lovely and some not so good.
I would not recommend this as a place to stay which is a shame as location is great.

Setting on the river, comfortable room, beautiful bed linen.
Nothing I can think of.

location
the mattress was awful, decor tired and windows mouldy. items of food missing and substituted for others with no notice. no eggs for breakfast as apparently the delivery had not arrived. really young staff left to deal with issues
4.1
Lovely staff, great location, riverside garden just begging to be sat in on a long sunny afternoon
Decoration looked a little tired, frayed carpet in room

The welcome from the staff and the location, and the food at breakfast was very nice
The evening meal was unexceptional, but OK. Breakfast service was painfully slow, Our main unhappiness was that the decor was tired, and a few knobs and hooks were missing - not a great as the photos in the website which we imagine date from a few years ago.

A lovely Sunday luncheon in the pub followed by a most pleasant stay upstairs.
Visited friends and they will be happy to recommend to others visiting them in Faringdon.

Service was good. Cooked breakfast was very good. Location and parking was good.
Room quality was disappointing - decor not of adequate quality and maintenance was poor.

The place was lovely. Room spacious and very comfortable. Good selection of in-room drinks and bath commestibles. Good choice at breakfast.Good accommodation but check restaurant and bar will be open.
Booked it because it advertised a restaurant on site. We arrived at 1630 on Sunday night and the restaurant closed at 1700h. This meant we had to drive out several miles to find somewhere for an evening meal when we had been planning an evening of eating and drinking on site. I queried this information with the manager and he told me the hotel website (n.b. NOT Booking.com) had been updated to show the early closing of the restaurant on that night. I checked the hotel website and I did not find an explicit note about the change. It was only if you tried to book a meal on-line that it became clear there was no availability.
In addition, the bar was closing early.
A clearer on-line message would have been appropriate - you would be advised to check before booking, if you want a meal.

The pub was lovely and served excellent meals.
The room had a very musty smell and the bathroom was tired and not cleaned to a high standard.

Very attentive staff
We were the only people in the pub but apparently the hotel was fully booked. Room didnt have a bath. Food wasnt great. Starter was sloppy and over seasoned. The steak was good but chips burnt and cold. We were up before Chef, but breakfast was passable.

We were hiking The Thames Path & we really looking forward to our stay here, mainly as the photos made it look like a really lovely hotel, however in reality, the place was really quite tired, in particular the bedrooms, which are in serious need of tidying up & redecorating. The food was nice and the staff were absolutely lovely however it was clear that there was no manager anywhere in sight & they were seriously seriously short staffed. I have no idea why the manager or owner let the place be so short-staffed. It was obvious that the manager / owner does not care at all & at breakfast the staff (one member of staff only) was very busy & very stressed out - I would say almost to the point of her walking out. We left her a nice tip (£10) as we really felt for her. It was about the only time she smiled & the stress left her face for a second. I had also tried to contact the hotel/pub several times via the 2 email addresses advertised on the website and no one ever replied to me. Such a shame as the food at dinner was very nice & the atmosphere was nice too.
Terribly short-staffed but I do not blame the staff at all as they were lovely & doing the best they could, but the stress was really showing in their faces. Bedrooms are very tired too when you look closely.

Breakfast very good slow service though, food in Bar was good again slow service, quite expensive too. Room was very nice, no milk for ta cuppa and the bar was closed to get any until 9am noone really about to help when needed.

Excellent staff and the food was delicious.
We booked an executive room and the room was detailed to have a bath and a shower, but it only had the former. There was also no coffee machine as advertised.
The room is located directly above the kitchen which meant that the sound of kitchen activity (including music) could be heard very audibly through the floor. Furthermore, the smells of cooking including frying were very noticeable in the room and permeated all of our possessions. The bed was also broken. Finally, there is a hot water tank in a cupboard in the room which was on all night and kept us awake. Needless to say we only stayed one night instead of two.
