The Pendry was a great base for exploring the Sunset strip and West Hollywood. We really loved the location right on Sunset Boulevard. Also the hotel itself feels really design-forward without being pretentious. Everything feels new and clean which is lovely. The rooftop pool, bar and restaurant is a real highlight and has stunning views. We also liked the spaciousness of the room and the comfort of the bed.
I would also say the staff were incredibly gracious with early check-in and late check-out which we greatly appreciated. They went over and beyond with our late check-out as we had a late flight and they allowed us more time than I'm sure many hotels would, which we really valued and this would be a main reason I would definitely stay again in future as they were so kind about it.
We had breakfast one day on our credit (via booking.com) and it was really delicious and they catered for our requirements well (dairy and gluten free) and it was lovely to sit out on the balcony and see the view while eating.
We also liked that they brought more water when we asked with no fuss and no charge - so many hotels are stingy with this (although it would be nice not to need to ask in the first place and perhaps to have a system that avoids so much single-use plastic or at least use bigger bottles).
The second day we used the pool area and it was busy (and this is only early April with the first bit of sunshine!). We could get loungers but there was one poor girl rushed off her feet trying to serve everyone. Consequently the lounger towels we asked for never came, we were never asked if we wanted a drink/food and the whole area was looking uncared for. The girl on duty was lovely and it wasn't her fault but more staff should have been allocated. And this was something we also felt with breakfast. While the service was adequate, we were not served by one dedicated server and it was just a little lacking for the level you expect from this kind of price point of hotel, particularly in the USA. It wasn't terrible at all, but just not 5 star. I think there is work to be done by management on staff service to get the hotel consistently to a truly great service experience.
Also - a general issue which is probably true of many hotels these days - this whole minibar thing where the entire fridge is taken up with ridiculously overpriced (like x3 at least RRP) drinks / snacks (paid for as soon as you remove something, by weight) is incredibly annoying. It means if you need some fridge space, you have to ask them to bring up a fridge to your room which is just ugly and annoying. Plus our minibar made a loud humming noise so we had to ask them to turn it off (which they did). Could everyone stop purchasing any of these items to force hotels to stop with this please!? It's an awful practice and feels very tacky in this level of hotel.
Lastly, I don't like not having the option of opening windows at least slightly for fresh air but this seems to be standard in many high rise hotels now.

Very chic and modern boutique hotel nestled in the heart of West Hollywood and close to many attractions. Great food
Rooms are not sound proof. U can hear people walking around in the corridor at night

A very stylish hotel, with a wonderful lobby, restaurant, roof deck pool, and equally fashionable rooms. But yet it still felt comfortable and inclusive.
The room was not the biggest, but it was well appointed and very comfortable.
The pool was area was really stunning..so everyone wants to hang out there, including non guests as far as I can tell. Consequently beds are very hard to come after mid morning, given it is not a big pool area. It is a buzzing scene rather than a relaxing one in the afternoon (as we experienced) but it was good fun.
The Ospero restaurant at breakfast could have been a little more on the ball as regards catering for food allergies.
So we struggled to eat there as had little confidence in the confused responses. A dairy allergy is not very uncommon, and staff should be able to tell what ingredients are in the bread they serve every day. And given this is LA, we thought we would be offered more in the way of healthy options. Though to be fair I think California has some way to catch up with London (surprisingly) on both counts.

The rooms were lovely if a little cramped with four of us!

Loved everything at this hotel!! Location is fantastic, close to lots of bars and restaurants and shops. The service is very friendly and helpful. The Concierge was amazing and got us lots of great activities and restaurant bookings. The rooms are beautiful decorated, with big bathroom and comfortable beds. The pool is great and the restaurants are very good too. All in all, all hotels should be like this one!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
The pool closes a but early and there is not enough daybed for everyone who wants to use the pool!

The staff was nice and conversational. The hotel sits on a busy strip. It’s also easy to get a rideshare to pick you up here. The bathrooms have nice showers and soaps.
Some rooms have a connected doors that allows noise from other guests’ rooms to come through very easily – unacceptable for a hotel of this price.
