Amazing peaceful and free spirited natural spaces, friendly and helpful staff, clean, cozy and authentic laid back Hawaiian pace of life. Minutes from the black sand beach. This has been our most remarkable stay in a lifetime of travel. We really felt welcomed and as soon as we got home we re-booked for a return stay. Special shout outs to Mat, JoEL and Ashton, all who set the tone with such a generous, welcoming, sincere openness. See you all on our return! Perfect for LGBTQ+ and lovers of clothing optional spaces. Amazing hot tub, outdoor rain shower, BBQ and lush tropical gardens.
Honestly, nothing.

Joel, our host was excellent, helpful, friendly and accommodating for our requests. Located on a short walk to the beach
Even though we knew everything was clean there’s an estranged smell coming from the freshly clean linens, out of that everything was perfect

A nice house in the beautiful rainforest. We loved everything, especially the hot tub. The host was very kind and provided a ton of information regarding sights to visit and nearby events.

The accommodation was great. Loved the garden room with the sounds of nature. Accommodation was clean and comfortable, and the hot tub was a great relaxer at the end of a busy day. Accommodation was close to the volcanoe park and in a great, friendly community close to the beach. Travel was necessary to other parts of the island, which is a normal expectation when visiting Big Island.

A wonderful place with beautiful gardens and very welcoming host, like staying in paradise! Very good facilities, clean and well run, close to the black Sand Beach and near to many other points of interest.

A great stay in a unique property, with friendly owners. It was a great experience, truly unique. Everyone was super welcoming and showed us the local sights.
We should have been more prepared bringing more food with us. The markets in Pahoa aren't far but you are in a somewhat remote location and should prepare as such.

There was nothing I didn’t like about the property

the property is in a quiet neighborhood close to a black sand beach, staff and friends are friendly, the house and yard are original, quirky, inviting and decorated with great taste. I loved the garden room for the feel of sleeping in a tropical forest but worth mentioning: there are noisy tree frogs in the garden. as I'm a light sleeper, Matt offered ear plugs :)

Had a great time staying, very close to the beach. Only an hour away from Volcano. I would get food at target, prices were way more reasonable. Met great people during my stay, everyone was so friendly. I will definitely be back!

Mathew was an excellent hosts who really tried to cater to guests' needs. His room design really afforded an exquisite glamping experience in the Hawaii coastal forest region.

The 3 bedroom b&b is located in a villa with an enchanting tropical garden. The entire residential area is indeed in a forest and you might be prepared for birds night chirping and singing which for someone accustomed to a urban life could sound weird but it’s very existing experience.
There was just one bathroom for 3 bedrooms plus the host who also lives at the property.

Amazing host! Matt provided us everything, and the house was just lovely!

it was a secluded paradise. Great little home stay. Matt and Houston could not do enough for us. Matt was willing to accompany us to the neighbouring town and recommended some great places to eat: As a result of a social event held at the property, we made some incredible friends. The black sand beach is 5 minutes walk away and Matt provides all the equipment (towels etc) you need at no extra cost. The kitchen access was handy due to the remote location. The gardens are well tended to.
the clothing optional really is just that. there is no pressure either way.
There was nothing we didn’t like…but be aware that the village has zero facilities so you must have a car as the nearest store is a 30 minute drive. The other thing to be aware that this is in the outback as it were. You will be surrounded by nature and all her bugs and plants! as city dwellers, this was a true experience.

Great price in a good location. Black sand beach within about a 10 min walking distance and hot springs about a 20 min drive. Good range of local activities. Matt is a good host.

The location is excellent, two minutes drive to the gorgeous black sand beach, Matt (the property manager and the owner) kindly brought us (usually each Monday) to the hidden gem close to the property for hot pods and stargazing. Special thank you to the massage therapist, Houston, and his healing hands.

Very welcoming environment! We went out as a group for dinner and a dip in the hot spring one night and had a blast. The host is very knowledgeable of the area and gives great recommendations. The beach is a short walking distance and absolutely stunning! We also loved our room and falling asleep to the sounds of the chirping frogs. It felt like we were in the heart of the rainforest.

The laid back local vibe, the solitude and solace of the property, the opportunity to meet local residents and friends of the host.. on site and at other nearby events and properties. The rain on the roof in the Garden Room when it occurred!

Host was so nice - we got in very late (past midnight), but he greeted us and even surprised us with a free upgrade since the bigger room was still free.
We called the number a few times but didn't get an answer. Normally not a big deal, but a little stressful on an island where there is almost no cell service, so the few opportunities we were able to connect we wanted to be able to reach someone.

The property is stunning, beautiful and curated in any detail. It’s located a bit off the beaten routes, which makes it perfect to explore the wilder part of the island while still being close to major attractions like the volcano national park.
we’ve got the garden room, which is a gorgeous private space obtained from a side patio of the house. it’s fully covered and protected by nets from insects but at same time you get the feeling of sleeping in the beautiful tropical garden (including night birds and all kinda sounds!).
Comfortable bed, great kitchen area and bathroom.
Friendly host provided many useful recommendations on local attractions as well as a delicious homemade breakfast for a very reasonable fee.

Nature and beach is beautiful!
Just be sure to stock up on groceries/ supplies as it is extremely inconvenient to access shops!

A really beautiful place with gorgeous gardens. The owner was friendly, and had put together a list of local, queer-friendly events going on throughout the week! Having just the few, select rooms made for some great conversations with the other folks there (including the owner) and, coupled with the picturesque environment, made it feel like a stay at a high-end luxury property (despite being the same price as the basic hotels in the same region I'd looked at before). Very highly recommended! I'll be coming back!
As is very clear from the listing, the place is both LGBTQ+ focused and clothing optional. I happen to think those are both good things, but folks who are not into those should reread before reserving 🤷
