Excellent hotel would definitely recommend it!

Excellent facilities, helpful staff and a food at the restaurant was delicious!

Only tiny thing was description of how to find the shuttle to the hotel from Kyoto station was confusing

Comfy.

Check-in: Easy and seamless check-in experience. Location: Purposely chose this hotel for its location. Walking distance to Gion and other sites (10-15mins, depending your stride and speed). You can choose the park path, river path or the street path for your walks. Good way to digest (feel less guilty) after enjoying all the food. Room: Love everything about our room, especially the separate shower, toilet and wash area. It makes it so convenient when you have a roommate. Customer Service: Everyone was helpful and attentive :) Hotel Facilities: Unfortunately, we did not get the opportunity to use the hotel facilities. There was too much of Kyoto to explore and the room provided was too comfortable.

Wi-fi: It was not stable, good thing we have our own wifi device but still something that can be improved upon since this is suppose to be a 4-star accommodation.

新しくてキレイです。タクシーを呼んでくださったりきめ細かくご配慮いただきました。すごく良いホテルです。

良いホテルなので、混んでます。そのときのスタッフ様のご対応は少し残念ですが、少ない人数で大変だと思います。宿泊費も安いので問題なしです。

An excellent and relaxing stay, a gem in Kyoto.

Excellent staff, well designed, and clean. Breakfast was good and the dining room was great.

Parking not available on site, parking lots were expensive. Air conditioning was difficult to adjust.

Experiencia ZEN estilo japones, muy tranquilo frecuentado por japoneses!

Estilo y decoracion tradicional con muchos detalles de servicio en la habitacion! El transporte gratuito a la estacion de tren es genial!

El personal de la recepcion no habla ingles! Aunque en general en KYOTO casi nadie lo habla! Esta alejado del centro, diriamos a 10 minutos, no es viable caminar desde y hacia el rio queda a unas 10 cuadras largas!

You will not be disappointed

One of my best hotel experiences in Japan. Starting with the Higashimaya was a mistake on my part as other hotels could not match the quality of what I experienced here. From the staff to the facilities to the restaurant and breakfast, everything was as good as you would expect. Tokyu Hotels are certainly on my radar now.

TV could have more smart features like Chromecast or smart applications so that customers can connect as the only available BS/CS channels are Japanese. The closure of the incredible tea bar, Sarei, is quite early but expected.

Great stay, ok location but need more laundry machine.

The room is nicely designed and modern, slightly on the dimmer side. Great layout of the room with the TV facing the bed and with easy to use Netflix system.

There are only two laundry machines and were always occupied during our 4 nights stay, we ended up doing our laundry at midnight. The hotel is located at a secluded and quiet, only a short walk required to the nearest bus stop and train station.

Beautiful hotel, relaxing atmosphere

I was impressed by the beautiful hotel decoration. And the breakfast is good quality and very delicious, including attentive and helpful staff. Provide good and polite service.

The room is beautiful, but the equipment in the room lacks details to support its use. For example, I liked the beauty and neatness of the tea making equipment box, but the room does not have a space for making tea. But use it together with the sink instead. In addition, there is no consideration if the customer has large luggage. But I use a small travel bag so this is not a problem.

Perfect stay at Hotel Higashiyama

I liked the location as it was a quiet area and closer to certain things I wanted to see in Kyoto. The hotel and room itself was amazing. Very comfortable, fantastic staff. Laundry and gym room were great. Would go back!

It was lovely and relaxing.

The location was great, being in a quieter part of Kyoto, but within walking distance of some beautiful temples and gardens, such as Nanzenji and Heian Jingu.

The quality of the food in the breakfast buffet was good, however I would prefer to have the a la carte option where the breakfast is served to my table. There was a large tourist group, and unfortunately some people were coughing on the food and were not waiting in turn. It did not feel relaxed for me. So next time, I will not choose to have breakfast at the hotel.

Nice Stay, Good Hotel, Friendly Staff.

Friendly staff. Clean. Nice neighborhood for walking, close to subway.

Even though laundry facilities were free to use, it took three-to-four hours for wash and dry. Please buy some better machines. Need more variety for breakfast menu. Basically, the same set menu each day.

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff but just Ok location!

Loved the size of room, cleanliness and the friendly staff members. Felt very luxurious for the price range!

It was a little bit of out the way of things and for someone who was not comfortable with the bus system we ended up walking fair distances to attractions which we didn’t mind but you need to consider

Comfortable hotel, excellent bathroom

This is a very modern hotel, which shows when entering the lobby. The room was very spacious and clean with excellent bathroom facilities. Staff was very helpful. Beds were very comfortable and the room decoration was modern and stylish. Early check in was possible at no extra cost. Very nice garden to sit outside if weather permits.

Staff does not speak much English (like almost everywhere in Japan) Breakfast options are limited. For a family with small children, the location is not optimal, due to public transport about 1km from the hotel.

it was a little bit uncomfortable that the schedule of gym was 6:00-20:00.
