Excellent hosts and recommend to anyone.
Nothing just as expected. Charming spotlessly clean room. Dinner was very good and breakfast top.

Mark and Lowri are fantastic hosts and the food is excellent! The bed was comfortable and the views towards the black mountains from the property and my room were stunning. The room was exactly what you'd expect from a 14th century building, a little crooked and some fantastic original features, which made the experience feel special. Would definitely have no hesitation in returning.
No upright/ standing shower but there was hand shower tap on the bath so it wasn't a big deal.

The hotel is exactly as in the photos, very old and with rustic charm, although the room we were in was in the newer part of the building. The room was spacious with a large bathroom. The location is beautiful - very much in the country. They service pub food in the restaurant - food was OK, not great. The owners were friendly and helpful.
I would have given a higher rating except for the shower - or lack of. I booked a deluxe room and didn't think I needed to specify a shower. What we got was a hand-held shower over a bath. It was hard to get the temperature right - either freezing or scalding - and the pressure and the design meant it was like being pierced with sharp needles. Essentially it meant sitting in the bath - not especially comfortable - and getting water everywhere. The bath was difficult to get out of afterwards. The room had not been dusted recently and there was a spider on the desk. NB steep stairs to the first level where the rooms are.

The hosts were extremely welcoming and friendly, as were the locals eating in the bar. Dinner was homecooked and delicious, service swift.
Breakfast the next morning was cooked fresh and extremely good.
The room was a little basic and perhaps a little worn, though we had everything we needed and it was very comfortable...but we had chosen the cheapest room in the hotel!

Charming room, nice breakfast and pub, with really lovely owners. Really good value.

The room was very poorly furnished with no proper table and a chipped mug to drink out of.
For our evening meal we were shunted away from the restaurant to a small isolated corner of the bar area.

Breakfast and dinner both excellent & served by exceptional staff/owners - relaxed but professional. It was a pleasure to stay - felt like being a house guest rather than a "customer".
Location was perfect and surprisingly central for our requirements.
If there was anything we missed it!

Rhydespence was such a characterful property, very quirky and a delight to stay at! The staff and hosts were all lovely people, very accommodating and helpful. So glad we stayed there.

The main road was the main view, and the
location is only accessible by driving.

lovely old inn, quirky and unusual, staff lovely, female
owner very accommodating,
very dirty bedroom? dead flies everywhere, dirty behind
headboard, stains on carpet, not worth £140 per night.
WiFi not working,

The owners are really really nice, and the place is beautiful. The food was delicious as well.
The bed wasn't really to our liking. Bit too short. Also there isn't an actual shower only a bath with a shower head attachment. It works but would've loved a proper shower.

Lovely place. Building stemming from 1380. A god mix of genuine Pub/Inn feeling.
4.3
Breakfast excellent.. Plenty of variety and good service. A varied evening meal menu.
There were steep concrete steps to our room. There was no warning in the advertising material about this soit was a problem to a couple of 80 year old lDies with dodgy knees. This Inn was run by a delightful family.
4.3
lovely setting.
Room could have been cleaner and certain items need to be sorted out, broken window pane, very loose toilet seat.
4.3
The location, the inn, the staff, the food, the drinks, the locals, and, not forgetting the owners, are all exceptional.
4.3
All the meals were excellent and the room very comfortable. The hosts and staff welcoming and friendly.

Breakfast was good.
They closed the kitchen at 8.30pm which I thought was a bit early - I got back to have dinner at 8.40pm and was told it's closed, so I didn't have dinner. Also the noise from the guests drinking downstairs went on until 1am, so I couldn't sleep. They should have some kind of sound proofing between the pub downstairs and the bedrooms above.

Fab food, fab ambiance thoroughly enjoyed it!

The room was very spacious and welcoming, everyone we met at the hotel were really warm and friendly. The breakfast included was delicious and served promptly in the morning. We couldn't have asked for anything better considering we were only there for a short stay but would happily recommend to family and friends. Especially with the bar on site, and the beautiful views in the garden. Very peaceful and serene.
The only thing we didn't have nearby were local conveniences for food or takeaways after the hotel had finished serving food but we luckily came prepared! Just be aware that these are a short drive or walk away that could be inconvenient for some.
4.3
Plenty of space and light, and the building has character.

Best eggs I've ever had, amazing breakfast, beautiful room with a comfy bed and exceptionally friendly staff.
4.3
The breakfast was excellent as were the dinners we had there. The bar had a log fire and the atmosphere was cheery.
The bedroom was very small, the carpet was stained, the loo seat swivelled and a cupboard door under the sink hung off its hinges so the whole cupboard was unusable. It was neglected.
4.3
Dinner in the bar, with real ale, was just how we like it; breakfast in the dining room was civilized and pretty good; bedroom was quiet, characterful and attractive. Staff were friendly and helpful, and ran the place very well indeed.
Almost nothing not to like: breakfast coffee, served in a plunger "percolator", was a bit murky (we prefer filtered), but good nevertheless; hot water in the en suite wasn't always there, but we coped. The staircase (a creaky medieval effort in a cupboard) was scary (at my age) even without suitcases, but it would be sacrilege to modernise it.
