LOCATION AND TRANSPORT

The area

Angel is an eclectic neighbourhood, famous for its nightlife and collection of iconic local pubs, stylish cocktails bars, renowned international restaurants and upmarket, boutique shopping. One of the most in-demand places to live in London, this safe and eco-friendly neighbourhood is also popular with celebrities – Emma Watson, Boris Johnson, James McAvoy, Colin Firth and Lily Allen are all famous faces that have called this vibrant area home in the last few years.

Yet despite it’s amazing reputation and convenient Zone 1 location, the area still has a relaxed, trendy atmosphere. Angel is frequented by local Londoners, with fewer tourists, so you can enjoy an authentic London experience with the luxury of being close to London’s attractions if you wish to explore the city.

The apartment is extremely close to many restaurants, shops, supermarkets and ATMs.

• There are 10 coffee shops within 20 metres
• There is a shopping centre 100 metres away
• There are 3 supermarkets within 50 metres
• There is a 24/7 convenience store just next door

Getting around

The apartment is located on Upper Street, an extremely accessible location for all of Central London, North, South, East or West and with unbeatable transport links.
Angel tube station and Highbury-Islington tube station are both 5 minutes walk away and there is a bus stop right outside the apartment. You can even rent bicycles from automatic stations nearby.

There is public (pay and display) parking for your car, should you chose to drive into London. You can park on the street, or a nearby indoor carpark. However, we recommend public transport instead, as it’s far easier and quicker to explore London in this way.

• Oxford Street (15 minutes)
• Camden Lock Market (20 minutes)
• Regent’s Park (20 minutes)
• British Museum (20 minutes)
• Old Street and Silicone Roundabout (10 minutes)
• St Paul’s Cathedral (20 minutes)
• Shoreditch (15 minutes)
• Westminster (30 minutes)
• West End (30 minutes)
• Southbank (30 minutes)

Getting to the apartment from the airport is easy using public transport (tube, train or bus) but it’s more economical to hire a private taxi if you have a lot of luggage or many guests. I will give you the information to book this.

You can read this whole review but I will sum it just telling you to stay away unless you want to run the risk of listing misrepresentation and no refund. My family of 5 were taking our first trip to Europe. I knew that upon arrival in London we were going to be exhausted, and I was going in July. I knew that a lot of places in London didn't have AC so I made sure the listings I researched had that in addition to a bed per person (my kids do better when they don't share beds). I found this property, booked it and the manager seemed pleasing and accommodated our early arrival... When we arrived, it had no AC and it was the hottest day of the year. When I contacted the manager upon arrival he literally tells me to use the two 6" fans that won't do anything to control the heat much less control the noise from outside since it's a busy street. AC isn't just about coolness, it's also about insulation from noise which I knew we'd need in this location. Also, the listing stated a King bed - there was one Queen bed. There was a double bed in the second bedroom and the bedroom 3 is listed as having 1 Double Futon, 2 Twin Beds and 1 Crib. This bedroom is really the living room and it's just a sectional couch. We had to leave, we were in tears from exhaustion and it was impossible to stay. Since then, they were super slow to respond and now won't do even a partial refund. I did nothing wrong and I don't do business this way. Shame on them.

The location of this property is absolutely fantastic. It is right on the main street in Islington with lots of great shops, restaurants, cafes all in easy walking distance. There are two tube stations within easy walking distance accessing the Northern, Victoria and Overground lines. The property was very clean and well appointed and the host was easy to contact with good communication and easy check in and out process. I would highly recommend this property.

If you have moderately high standards, this place might not measure up. If you're a group of college students on a tight budget, it might work; if you're a middle-aged professional, like myself, I wouldn't recommend it. The place is rough around the edges. One bedroom is tight with no window. The place has a musty smell. If you're booking your dream trip to London, I wouldn't recommend. The location is outstanding, though.

Our stay at this flat was good. It has a great washer and dryer, which is rare. The area is great with lots of good restaurants and coffee places, shops, a wonderful florist, etc. The condo looks a bit less attractive in person than in the pictures but it was still nice looking and convenient. I think that it comfortably sleeps 5, not 7, like it says it does.

Property was a great location. Different from pictures regarding furniture and layout of furniture. 2nd bedroom was the twin bed it did not make a larger bed. No toiletries in the bathroom and no coffee as pictured. Appreciate the accommodation for late check in. The entry light did not work when we arrived at midnight which made getting up the stairs into the unit with luggage a bit difficult.

The location and neighborhood were great. Lots of places for food, grocery, eating out, and treats. Easy access to bus lines and Tube stations, so easy to travel anywhere you want to go. Check-in did not go as the host had assured us it would, which was disappointing and frustrating. But assuming that was a one-off complication we would stay here again. It worked really well for our week in London.
