This motel is really cool as it has a lot of history. We actually booked the Elvis room which is where Elvis stayed. It was a really neat looking room! From the pink Cadillac bed to all the pictures and neon it really brought great character. Everything looked great when we arrived and got settled in. The a/c was already on and set for us. It was a hot and long day so we wanted to cool down and stay in for the night. We enjoyed the big jacuzzi and turned on some Netflix to chill. We even had some ice cream delivered to our room through Gopuff. We noticed though that the a/c really was not cooling down the room at all. I'm a big guy and was sweating a lot even after taking a cold bath in the jacuzzi. We went to the front desk to ask for plastic spoons for our ice cream. I mentioned the a/c to them and they said if we cannot handle it, they would be happy to bring us a box fan. We ate our ice cream and waited, but the room was just so hot. I called the front desk (a little after 1am) and someone came to our room. She was very kind and tried resetting the a/c and delivered a box fan. About 10 minutes later she called our room and said they discounted the room $25 for the inconvenience. Other notes: the toilet didn't seem properly connected to the wall, the mattress was extremely hard, and the bed pillows were very small for it being a king sized bed.
Again, we did love the room and the vibe it gave along with the rest of the motel. I would have given 5 stars if the a/c worked.

Historic was fun. Very clean. AC cycled on and off every few seconds. Kept us awake. Breakfast was ok.

This was the worst place we stayed during our trip (16 days and 14 hotels)! Of the two check in staff present one just got up and left even though there was a queue. After check in our room key did not work so they put us in a different room. We are a family with two children and the new room was right next to a bachelor party which came back after 10pm and sat right outside our room, smoking, drinking and using very bad language. There are plenty of rooms available so surely there was no need to put us right next to them! As reception was no longer occupied we sent an email to complain but a week later we still have not had a reply or an apology!
The breakfast selection was good but the breakfast room was too small for the size of the motel and there was not enough space to move and/or sit.
As on the day before the staff was not interested at all and did not want to be there.
It really was a shame as we wanted to stay at a Route 66 motel but we would not stay there again under any circumstances.

I stay here several times a year and always enjoy it. Perfect location, good breakfast, friendly staff and that vintage style old fashioned motel look. Very clean and nicely decorated rooms.

We arrived at the checkln desk and as soon as i spoke with my scottish accent i had a sense that i was not welcome and this transpired to be true. This hotel has 320 chalet type rooms and we were given disabled room 319 away in the far corner furthest away from the reception breakfast and pool and my wife did not feel secure. The rooms look nothing like the photos on the Hotel.com site and soon as we opened the door we could smell cats urine and it did not look clean the toilet door just about fell off. We reloaded our car and went to another hotel.I could not go in to reception for fear of losing my temper so the wife went in and told the recepionist that we were checking out. What the recepionist said to my wife was WE HAVE BETTER ROOMS THAN THAT CAN I MOVE YOU so my replied so you are telling me you gave us a terrible room on purpose. I will be wanting a refund from Hotels.com.

Room was very clean but could use a little touch up on paint in bathroom. They have changed the breakfast and it's not as good as it once was. Go back to scrambled eggs and soft biscuits. We have used this motel for the last 15 years for Route 66 car show. It's great you can park in front of your room with your classic car.

I was traveling with my husband and 2 kids. We spent one night on our way to Chicago. The room was clean. The room had adequate accommodations. The only bad thing about the room were 2 things. The bottom bunk bed support for the mattress was not very good. My daugther sunk in the middle of the mattress. And the other thing was the shower was very very slow draining. We had to wait about 20 after each person showering to take the next shower. I think the shower drain needs to be cleaned out. The breakfast was decent for the price paid. We would probably stay here again if the two things were corrected. The 2 staff employees we encounters were very upbeat and friendly.

Lovely

The nostalgic theme was cute! The employees are incredibly nice! The unit could have used some vacuuming to get rid of some of the little wispy spiders, but with the trees all around they're to be expected. Breakfast was good and typical of a Best Western.

Loved that our car was right next to room. Not so happy about the several spiders that were in the bathroom. The continental break fast was marginal at best, in a far too small area.

Adorable room, great staff and great breakfast

Good enough for a night of sleep Definately not a 5 star hotel but I would stay again if needing an affordable clean place to sleep. Staff we encountered were all very friendly. The king suite room was perfect and had a second room with a bunk (full on bottom) and a tv in it for my adult nephew to have privacy.

I was only here to sleep this time but always stay here when I’m in Springfield. Fast check in, friendly staff, good hot breakfast and just an adorable all around old timey motel.

It’s an aging motel. There have been some attempts to modernize it but not great. The furniture in the rooms is almost cliche motel cheap, the mattresses are thin and springy. The toilet was clogged, the telephone in the room was disconnected (to call front desk for a plunger), there room was passably clean but didn’t feel clean. I’m not sure why the reviews have been so positive.

Great place to stay celebrating Route 66.

Hotel was rated as 8.8. More accurately it is perhaps 6.8. Floor was filthy; turned our white socks black. Floor was made of buckling vinyl tile. No rain gutters meant we got soaked unloading and loading our car.

It is a neat place to stay. Clean! The family really liked staying here. The family room has a separate room for the kids. The very few changes/suggestions I have is the toilet is really low to the ground, the mattress was just at the point of needing replaced. But, I slept very well despite it. The staff was so nice and the breakfast was fresh!

The room is clean and the towels were really soft. The pool was clean and pretty. No problems at all. We only stayed one night in the room long enough to shower and sleep.

This was a beautiful spot on historic route 66, parking in front of the door, large bed, quiet room even though it shared 2 walls with other rooms it still felt private. There were great photo oops throughout the property starting in the driveway, main reception, and around the rest of the property. Maintenance workers ensuring the property was looking it's best, and the hit breakfast in the morning was great. The main reception area had the breakfast area, however, it doubled as a retro diner from the 50s/60s era. There was even a working rotary phone and a phone booth that was accessable to guests.
Whenever you drove through Springfield, Missouri... Gass up at the local Bucc ee's and rest your head here, they even have a enclosed (for privacy) in ground pool if you want to relax with a swim before you sleep. I can not wait to come back.

We loved this hotel. It was great for the family because they offered a family suite with a separate room for the kids that had a bunk bed. We were sad that our 2nd day the pool was closed due to chlorine issues, but we understand things happen. We would definitely stay here again.
The staff was friendly and helpful, nice location because it wasn't too crowded, but we could get to Lamberts and Branson easily, and it had everything we needed.

Where do i begin, first of all my room was supposed to b a handicapped room with a king, nope didn't happen. Asked to switch rooms, i though the so called manager was gonna have a coronary lol. This guys attitude switched like u wouldn't believe, was extremely rude and arrogant. Will nvr stay ther again. Our vets need to be treated with more respect, than what was clearly shown by this manager.

I like the extra bedroom for the kids and the secure feel of the entire stay. Staff is friendly and helpful. All around favorite place away from home

This is an iconic highway motel on old route 66. While not a luxury inn, it is clean, safe, and maintained in period form. It remains popular with visiting musicians tapping into 50’s nostalgia, with traveling cyclists visiting the old route, families on vacation, and regular people. It is great fun and central to downtown, Missouri State U, nice neighborhoods, and suburbs. While there, also visit Casper’s diner on Glenstone, not far away.
