Excellent service from the super friendly and helpful receptionist. The room was spacious with an incredibly comfortable bed and luxurious feeling bedding.Very effective blackout curtains. Great shower, plenty of hot water and good quality toiletries provided. Perfect location and looking beautifully festive. We will return!

Lovely hotel with very nice staff but the whole place is starting to look in need of a refurb.

Lovely staff, the quality of the room was excellent. The hotel felt very upmarket. Very good value for money. Dog Friendly too!

Well positioned for the town

We quite often stay here but could you please sort out the remotes on your tvs (never been once and not had an issue with them) and one large towel for two people isn’t enough. Apart from that our stays have always been good and your staff have lovely.

A hotel staff member entered our room at around 4:30 am whilst we were sleeping. I shouted at them and they left. I'm not quite sure why they came in, even if they got mixed up and thought the room was empty, what's the reason to enter a room so early in the morning? Most hotels don't start cleaning until after checkout time. We felt very unsafe and didn't sleep for the rest of the night.
In addition, there was no hot water (had cold showers), only provided one towel for 2 people...the area surrounding the hotel was pretty loud and could be heard from the room due to single glazed windows.

Straight across the road from Exeter Central, staff were really helpful and room was spot-on.

Great location near centre of town. Would happily return although the Mercure hotel chain policy of charging for early access to rooms is unfortunately a turn-off. As a consequence I made a decision to spend no additional money in the hotel.

Amazing experience, like none I've ever had. Very relaxed experience

Had a fantastic couple of nights stay here, the staff were lovely and very helpful, room was excellent and the breakfast was out of this world, would definitely stay here again.

We were so impressed with this wonderful hotel, its professional staff and its proximity to the city centre and train station. Our room was lovely and the staff on reception were so helpful and courteous. We would recommend the hotel.

Room was average for the price, but in a great location. Special thanks to the person at checkin who provided tips on restaurants and sights in Exeter that was spot on. Sadly I forget her name but she was terrific and helped to make my time in Exeter great.
Check-in was fine and routine, as was checkout. Would stay again if in Exeter

This is a lovely hotel right in the heart of Exeter, everything is within easy reach, shops restaurants and pubs. Would highly recommend this hotel

The hotel is nice but slightly run down- the rooms and men’s toilet do not match the front exterior or the lobby. It is cosy though.

I booked the room back in April and on arrival I was given a room on the fourth floor up in the roof. That day it was hot and the room was stifling the window only opened a tiny amount and there was only one tiny window. The air conditioning I don’t think was working properly as there was no relief from this and there was no fan in the room!!

A good basic hotel. Short walk to the city centre. Lots of places to eat nearby.
The room is a bit hot, no aircon. Spacious room.

We stayed here for 1 night and was so impressed. Everything was clean and was even treated to some complimentary items. Would definitely come back.

A little worn and noisy. Still good overall.

Pleasant staff, lovely entrance to the property, clean room with elegant minimal decor.

Nice stay overnight to go to a concert. Hotel is perfectly situated for the station across the road and for Exeter city centre. Staff were friendly, room was clean and comfy. Only issue we had was finding the car park which has a few spaces so call the hotel when you’re close. We ended up parking at the other Mercure hotel and walking over. I think it cost us £15 for the night. Good hotel, nice stay.

The bed was for comfortable and my wife and my daughter loves that and is just next to the train station very good

It took forever to get the hot water through and then the sink did not hold it anyway.

Had a brief overnight stay here visiting the University. Room was clean if a bit warm. There was no air conditioning and on a hot night would have been uncomfortable.
There was very little outside noise even though the hotel is directly opposite Central Station

Good location, good price, good breakfast.

Love this hotel for our break. Have stayed before. Location brillant, staff pleasant friendly and helpful! Nice room, lovely bathroom, fab shower!!. My reason for 4 star is our room was located in the newer extension, which isnt as sound proof as the orginal part of the hotel. I could here people as though they were in our room...and every time someone walked past the door the floor boards from the hallway to our room creaked as though someone was entering the room. This wouldnt stop me from staying here again! Infact were planning our next.

The curtains in my room needed a clean and I felt the place could do with some freshening up in areas. Aside from that, the staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel is convenient for the station and town. I'd stay there again.

Expected an extra bed on a room for two but was upgraded to a double room. Very nice surprise.

Room extremely hot, air con didn’t work , pigeons directly outside window all night making noise, , one got in through bathroom window at one point and noise from outside constant all night from drunk people right through until I had to get up at 6am

The hotel is looking very tired with threadbare carpets etc.The stairs, corridors & floorboards in the room were extremely creaky & kept us awake at night because we could hear people walking up the stairs & down the corridors at all hours. It was very noisy because we were at the end of the corridor next to the stairs & everyone had to walk past our room

Excellent stay. Quick check in and out. Nice room, ok breakfast

A really loud band was playing a couple of doors down from the hotel which didn’t stop till 11.30 followed by drunken shouting and someone coming back at 3.30am but didn’t feel the need to keep quiet…apart from that, all good.😊 I know the noise outside is not your fault but it was a poor nights sleep for me. However, I would probably stay again because of the location as long as I could be on a different side of the hotel

Check in was easy, room was clean. Plenty of dining options and overnight parking garage nearby
2.5
Brilliant location a short walk to the centre, very comfortable room and late check out so no morning rush
