A splendid few days at Owls Roost to celebrate a birthday.. The house is comfortable and very well equipped, and the information provided by the owners before we arrived, was accurate and very helpful.
It makes a great place to explore Bourton-on-the-Water and the surrounding area.

Owls Roost was a lovely place to stay for our long weekend in the Cotswolds. It was very clean and comfortable with well appointed kitchen. Stunning views over the countryside. It was a mile walk to the village and pub where we had amazing steak one day and fantastic Sunday lunch the next. Our hosts, Laura and Nick were lovely hosts. Would thoroughly recommend as a base in the Cotswolds.

We adored our stay over Christmas at Owl's Roost - the perfect Cotswolds home! Cold Aston is a gorgeous town with a divine pub right in the heart. Owl's Roost is very spacious (with two living areas and a good size kitchen), while also feeling super cozy. We loved the views out onto the paddocks, and the hot tub was such a hit. Laura and Nick were incredibly helpful and kind, going above and beyond to make sure that our stay was perfect. We loved our stay - would most definitely recommend!

This is a lovely property in a great location. Really close to Bourton on the water and other places to visit and yet on a working farm with beautiful countryside all around and horses roaming in fields nearby - including a new-born baby foal. The family living in the neighbouring property manage the house and so are available if needed and included the little boy we had with us with their children including riding the horses. We visited the local Cotswold Farm Park, Bourton, Stow on the Wold and also a wine tasting and vineyards tour at Larkhill vineyard in Tetbury. Some of our party played golf at Naunton Downs which was good and nearby but for several days we just relaxed in the gardens and soaked up the sun and enjoyed the views and hot tub.

The house was absolute stunning, really well designed, built and maintained. It was extremely spacious with sweeping views of the valley from nearly every window. The hot tub was a lovely addition and kept the men busy keeping the fire going! Laura & Nick were brilliant hosts, they were extremely helpful and even looked after our puppy for us while we went for dinner one evening. An absolute gem of a home with wonderful owners too. We will definitely be back to Owls Roost. Thank you to Laura & Nick and StayCotswold for making it all a very enjoyable stay.

Wonderfully secluded and beautifully presented, this house is a real gem. Laura was lovely and even got the hot tub going for us before we arrived. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking to get away from it all. That said, Cheltenham is just a 20 minute drive away if you're looking for more civilisation.
Would stay again in a heartbeat.

My family and I had a great stay at owls roost over the August bank holiday weekend. The barn is lovely, with lots of character and had great open plan spaces to spend time with family. Beds big and comfy, nice fluffy towels and kitchen had everything you need. We had a bbq one evening and the owners were really helpful providing us with charcoal and some meat for burgers which were delicious.
It’s a great view from the barn of the surrounding farm. There are horses and cows which my little girl loved to see each day.
The owners were lovely and they showed us their horses in stables and my little one enjoyed playing with their children.
Location is great, pretty village with a lovely pub close by and short driving distance to the lovely villages of Bourton on the water, the Slaughters and stow on the wold. Bibury and Broadway also only 20-25 mins away.
Would highly recommend and would stay here again.

We were delighted with our week-long experience during August 2022 while staying at Owls Roost, Grove Farm in Cold Aston which is just near the beautiful and vibrant Bourton-on-the-Water. The farm itself is a great location as it is nearby all essential amenities by car and ideal for those who want to explore the nearby areas during your stay. We were surprised by the Co-Op Supermarket offering such a wide variety of quality meats and products like a Waitrose would. Local takeaways (collection only) and restaurants are plenty but tables do need to be booked well in advance to avoid disappointment. The host family were lovely and very accommodating ensuring that we were comfortable and enjoying our stay. As we had a couple of proper 4x4's we asked if we could take a drive into the farm/valleys which Laura & Nick happily obliged to, the kids loved to be able to see the farm animals up close and the drive was adventurous for all!
The cottage itself is comfortable, well laid out and pet friendly with hard floors. The view from cottage looking out is picturesque and gives a very tranquil and calm sense of being which is all most wish for on a break away. The garden area is ideal for pets and children to run around and play while the hot tub is a bonus. We found the open plan kitchen and dining area ideal for our stay in terms of size and functionality when cooking for small kids and being able to watch over them. The cottage does not have bedroom doors on the 1st floors, so this can be a challenge with putting small children to bed as noise is difficult to isolate and the main living room has an open mezzanine above from the bedroom. We had the sofa bed downstairs converted into a 4th bedroom and I can say that it is very comfortable and an ideal bedroom not a makeshift one. There is plenty of living space between the other two lounge areas and I would say this property is value for money if two families are staying together or for a large family. My kids loved the drive up to the cottage through the farm as they got to see an array for wildlife and birds flocking the road and surroundings. We were greeted by the families horses and cows every morning as they came up close to the boundary wall for water and feed. My son loved the host families children playing with him (thanks Albie and Maya).
StayCotswold were easy to deal with and provided all necessary information. The host family attended to our needs and supplied two cot beds and high chair. In a nutshell this property is superbly located (provided you have own transportation) and is a wonderful setting with comfort and functionality. We look forward to visiting again in the future for sure.

Had a fantastic time with friends and family at the Owl's roost. It was lovely to be hosted by such a wonderful couple; Laura went the extra length to take my daughter out on a pony ride. The pooches had a great time too and my doggo enjoyed watching the horses. We enjoyed the local village fayre at Cold Aston and are looking forward to visiting again.

We loved our week at Owl's Roost. It's perfectly placed for exploring all that the Cotswolds have to offer. Hot tub (even in a heatwave) was a real treat too. Laura and Nick were fantastic hosts, the property is well set up, we had everything we needed. Super comfy beds too! Beautiful to wake up to the sounds of the cows and the horses in the field & the views across the farm- so peaceful. Exactly what we needed to get away from city stresses. We will definitely hope to return one day soon.

A wonderful birthday weekend!
We had a wonderful weekend at Owl's Roost. Laura and Nick were perfect hosts and the barn is fabulous and set up very well for group/family stays.
The location was perfect for a country getaway - no noise except for animals and ourselves. Easy distance to some of the prettiest villages I'm the Cotswolds and the Cotswold Distillery!
