Hotel is due a refurb we were told and it certainly needs it. On the outside fantastic looking building. Inside very grand but is unloved and unkept for a long time it seems. Very dirty, surface clean only, piles of dust by bed, windows large cobwebs, wallpaper looks as old as the house. Most staff very good.

Lovely stay. All staff very friendly. Very clean and comfortable. Enjoyed relaxing by the open fire. Food was very nice.

Lovely stay at Dumbleton Hall Hotel.
Place oozes style and character. Staff are just wonderful, friendly, efficient, and nothing is too much trouble.
Yes maybe the rooms could do with a little tlc, but that almost adds to the charm of the place and the bed was extremely comfortable. Food was good and very reasonably priced – don’t think there was a main course on the menu for over £17.50.
Great shame that the Hotel is shutting down soon and the fantastic staff are being made redundant – apparently a “refurbishment” is planned. Just hope the owners don’t lose the very essence of what makes it such a wonderful place to stay at the moment and turn it into some flash spa style establishment. Guess only time will tell.

Great property with beautiful grounds and wonderful service. The place is full of character and it was great fun exploring the grounds. Everyone was gracious and kind and we really enjoyed our stay in the Cotswold countryside. We also appreciated the hot breakfast. Highly recommend the place.

excellent hotel friendly staff . breakfast was lovely ,hotel had a lovely friendly feel

Really enjoyed our stay. Fabulous building and grounds.
Bar service and meals were poor. The young people running those areas need training. So management should take responsibility there. The dinner menu was very limited.
Apart from that it was a nice part of our excellent weekend.

Lovely time at Dumbleton again
Fantastic grounds in which to walk dogs and relaxed atmosphere about taking beloved pooch!!
. Reception staff much friendlier than last stay especially check out this morning.
Always a wonderful dinner and good menu.
Very efficient staff especially Kate who is awesome.

Spacious room for a single, with great en-suite. Lovely view and wonderful peaceful grounds to walk in. Good for bird-watching. Lovely breakfast with excellent service.

Well equipped and spacious room. Lovely view. Good to have a bath. Could not open the windows in either room so no fresh air but was unseasonably warm.
Tried to check in three times and successful on the third attempt by asking where staff were. Had a bad drive and and arrived exhausted only to wait for ages behind another couple so gave up and went out to the car to walk the dog. Second and third attempts no one on reception. Very disappointing. Just enough timeAlways asked if been before. Yes, and should have a record of being a regular on the system especially as gave ‘excellent’ for review last stay. Eventually a person appeared.
Dinner was excellent and service. Breakfast offers very good choice of extras to the main and I opted for the English Breakfast. Tepid everything and meagre. One small poached egg, barely cooked bacon and hash brown, a few baked beans and few pieces of mushroom. Should have sent it back but don’t like the hassle.
Checkout was fine.

Fabulous looking place and not badly priced. Not easy to find for us foreigners, but close to Broadway and other Cotswold locations Nice patios with gin and tonics. We had a handicapped room, I think which included a jacuzzi. Unfortunately it was very hot for Britain when we were there and the windows only opened 6 inches. Dining room was so-so. Breakfast fine.

Beautiful house and grounds, very friendly team and great food. Merryn (cocker) loved the house and grounds and everyone very dog friendly. Merryn treated like a VIP very important pup 😀

Positives first. The hotel is set in lovely grounds. The staff are welcoming, hard-working and provide good service. We didn't eat dinner here but the breakfast was good although some better quality bread wouldn't have gone amiss.
Negatives. The hotel was bought in 2021 and the current owners have yet to address the peeling wallpaper and scuffed paintwork which would greatly improve first impressions. They also need to purchase some new pillows and pillow protectors.

The grounds are superb and the hall looks amazing from the outside. But inside its very dated. Very 1980s. Damaged furniture and dated decore. Needs major renovation. Bedroom was awful. Not even a double bed normal size. Old scratched furniture. Bathroom very basic.

Really lovely experience with great value for money. Fabulous grounds and gardens. Beautiful village and countryside with spectacular walks. Would certainly come again.

The setting of this property is stunning. The staff, particularly the breakfast crew, were friendly and charming, thoughtful and kind. I would not hesitate to stay here again, though with more time for exploring the grounds.

Magnificent historic building set in wonderful countryside. Our 2nd floor superior room was perfectly adequate with great views. Restaurant evening meal was excellent with good service. Breakfast very good. Grounds were lovely with many rare & majestic trees. All added up to a most enjoyable visit.

Great location. Great property. But not making the most of it. Just lacking detail in all areas
4.0
Beautiful grounds and well kept gardens which is great for families and dogs but inside is very tired, much if need of a complete renovation which I understand will happen. Average to poor customer service, poor welcome at reception desk, no housekeeping in rooms - if it was on request we were not told. Breakfast average - disappointed to see a surcharge for salmon when rate advertises breakfast included. Cannot recommend - suggest waiting until renovations are complete.

very nice hotel for the price we paid in weekdays in Aug 2023 !, wldnt believe the price given everything else around us has gone high. Thanks Dumbleton Hotel , we will visit again.

Nice and quiet property but we booked a superior room and it had cobwebs, carpet stains, stains in ceiling from rain, ratty curtains, no complimentary toiletries which it was supposed to have. Beds and pillows were rock hard, travelled with husband and son and although quiet it was hard to get comfortable, there were holes in walks and ripped wallpaper in common areas, place needs some care and attention and a serious facelift

Beautiful setting and surroundings. Very peaceful. Lovely charm & staff were great. Recommend.

I love staying at this type of hotel, but you have to accept them for what they are...... old buildings that would cost millions to make perfect.

The property was just right for our needs. Look forward to visiting again next year when it has been refurbished.

We had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. Loved all the sheep. Sadly we learned that they had lost the pair of black swans that we had interacted with 11 years ago.

Staff are very professional, knowledgeable and courteous. Location and hotel are outstanding

Wonderful location staff were some of the friendliest I have come across. Value for money was high considering the age of the place and its recent transition into a hotel. Great gardens and one hour circular walk.

Stunning Building and grounds

The parkland setting was very pleasant, surrounded by sheep and mature trees and the building itself imposing. The ‘superior room’ was comfortable and clean though quirky with a bathroom on a lower level which might not be suitable for all guests. Soundproofing with the next room not really adequate with a loud snorer next door ! Staff in the dining room were welcoming, though one of our two meals, the lamb duo was disappointingly lukewarm and partly too tough to eat. Classic fish and chips was fine. Freshly cooked breakfast next day was good. Wi-Fi worked well.
1.0
Dirty pint glass, 4 items of dirty cutlery over 3 meals.
Water stains on ceilings and carpets, ripped carpets and wall paper, broken window pains.
Had dinner on 2nd night, over cooked meat on both meals, pork tenderloin virtually inedible.
Paid £169 per night, feel robbed

Hotel creates stunning impression with grand approach, amazing architecture and lovely grounds. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Some areas looked a little tired but over all was a good standard. Evening meal was mixed and we felt the restaurant was understaffed. Starters were fine and husband's main was very good (lamb two ways) but my choice from the specials of the day (plaice served with butter sauce) was sub-standard. Bar food looked appealing. Breakfast was truly excellent. Very pleasant visit and would happily return.

I liked the Hotel and its striking grounds. However the facilities were quite basic and id normally expect a Hotel bar to be staffed

Property is in a beautiful quiet location. Staff are friendly and helpful, public rooms are well furnished and clean, the food is also good.
Our room was very clean but the furnishing particularly the carpet was tired and could do with an upgrade.
