Location is convenient and quiet and in an older neighborhood. The house was very clean in terms of kitchen, bathroom, baseboards and even the ceiling fan was dust free. But it looked like it had been an abused frat house prior to our rental. Given that UVA students pretty much have to live off campus I wouldn’t be surprised if there were kids living there.
There is a shower curtain liner over a living room window. The recliner seat is broken. Only one drinking glass. Only one washcloth. Master bed had two slats fall out when my husband sat on it. He and my son put it back together but it is still rickety. Stains all over the carpet. Scuffs all over the walls. I was appalled when I walked in.
None of these things are in the pictures so I’m assuming the rental host isn’t local and not aware of what’s going on there.

Property has a good location. It took a few frantic messages to obtain the access code for the property - it was not sent to us until the last minute. Property was clean and neat. However, there were a few maintenance issues: smoke detectors on ground floor were disconnected (safety hazard -fire code violation); a few burned out light bulbs and weak lighting in bathrooms; blind control used to adjust angle of blinds broken in all bedrooms, and no tub stopper in one of the bathtubs. There is no cable or satellite TV - you must play around with various streaming services on Roku.
We were involved with a wedding so we were not around that much. Never used the kitchen so we cannot comment on that. When we returned one day, someone was parked in one of our spaces. This meant one of our vehicles had to be parked several blocks away - very inconvenient. It turned out to be one of the next door neighbors who said they had company - not management's fault. Just a rude neighbor.
Overall, we had a good stay. The property just needs a few things to be fixed up. Note: According to property information, check-in is not until 5:00 pm - we thought that was a little late. However, we asked to check in earlier since we had a wedding rehearsal dinner and the management company honored our request.
