Everything. Hotel Indigo is the best hotel in Exeter hands down. No need to look anywhere else.
nothing.

We loved everything!
We didn't like having to walk 2 blocks with our luggage to the taxi pick up area next to library.

Lovely stay in a very comfortable hotel. I loved the decor and very pleased with our room which was clean and very comfortable bed. Most of the staff we came across were extremely helpful and polite. Good choice at breakfast. Great location. The main areas were all very clean and welcoming. I loved all the special touches that nod to the history of the building. I would definitely try to return if back in Exeter.
I would definitely stay here again but there were a couple of things that could be fixed to make it absolutely excellent. We ate one night in the hotel and unfortunately the air conditioning is stuck on cold in the dining area and blasting cold air into the dining room which I think really affected the enjoyment of the meal and the atmosphere ( we asked a very kind waitress if this was an ongoing problem and she did say that this had been stuck like this for a while). We also did not realise that the rooftop bar must be booked and it closes early on a Sunday so good to be aware of this ( it probably says on the website but we missed it). Again we never realised that the spa was totally separate ( we thought we could just use the steam room and pools as part of hotel) and also when we went to book on a discounted rate as part of hotel the last time for use was 4pm which I think is a bit early so we never managed to use the spa which we had been looking forward to.

Overall, excellent, beautiful room, very impressed with the nod to the original use of the building as a department store, nice touch of the room furniture reflecting haberdashery display cabinets, even the hooks resembled old cotton reels, not sure younger people would get the link but we appreciated it!
All Good, in fact very good!

Check in and Check out were incredibly friendly and they even remembered my name from a previous telephone call.
Upon check out, Amira was very kind and super friendly, using my name and asking if anything specific to my stay. Both Jo the Manager and Amira were so nice, it almost felt like I wanted to stay another night. Thankyou to the check in staff and the Jo and Amira for making my stay memorable
Only one minor problems, some drinks ran out due to stock turnover.
4.3
Great location, comfy bed
Dirty communal areas especially the lift. Hairs in the bathroom. Hole in the wall. Handprints on the glass. Bedroom so hot, air conditioning extremely poor and no window. We were upgraded to a room with a balcony just so we had fresh air. Breakfast was £50 and arrived on one small tray. Very poor
4.3
Excellent location for exploring the city and just a short walk from Exeter Central station.
The interior design is wonderful and really complements the building. The bed was incredibly comfortable, we both had the best sleep!
it’s a shame the rooftop bar wasn’t open as we visited over the August bank holiday and the weather was beautiful.
4.3
Beautiful decor, room ver y spacious and clean. Food quality excellent.
Needed an extra member of staff for dinner service waited too long for drinks and to order, over half an hour.
4.3
Location and roof top bar
3 minute walk for parking but not an issue

Situation, was great. Room excellent.
No instructions on how to operate the coffee maker in the room, so ended up having tea. Breakfast could have been better. Not enough plates at the buffet table. Yogurt bowl empty. Pastries nearly all gone, also not many staff working so difficult to catch someones eye.
4.3
Our stay was very enjoyable good location and friendly staff would definitely stay again
Coffee machine in our room didn't work properly

Everything: the beds 🛌, the bar, the location
4.3
Staff, rooms and ambiance
As it is in a no car zone it was a bit of a walk with luggage to a taxi
4.3
Lovely setting and tucked away. Off the main road and also near the cathedral
The string smell of perfume diffuser in the foyer. The breakfast wasn't great
4.3
Bathroom excellent well thought out just an amazing hotel for the money

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this fantastic hotel, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of amazing. From the moment I booked my room, I was excited about the unique feature of a free-standing bath right in the room, which certainly lived up to my expectations. It added a touch of luxury and relaxation that set a remarkable tone for the rest of my stay.
The decor of the hotel was impressive. Every detail seemed carefully curated to create an ambiance that was both elegant and welcoming. It's evident that a lot of thought has gone into the interior design, making every corner of the hotel photogenic and comfortable.
The staff at the hotel were great—professional, friendly, and attentive. They made sure that every aspect of my stay was handled with care and efficiency, which made me feel well taken care of.
Additionally, the location of the hotel couldn't have been better. It was conveniently situated to allow easy access to local attractions, dining, and entertainment options, yet it also provided a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle.
I left the hotel feeling refreshed and impressed by the high standards maintained throughout. I am already looking forward to my next visit and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a remarkable stay.
4.3
The room and the staff
Both bars were poorly stocked on the day we were there
4.3
I did not eat the breakfast.
The bathroom had an excellent shower, fittings were good and towels were clean and rough as they should be.
There were some signs of warping and low maintenance on the bathroom door and seams around the shower.
There was no milk of any kind with the tea set
4.3
Location, comfort, cleanliness and decor
Dress code with some of the staff left a lot to be desired. Having said that they were very helpful.
4.3
Good location in the centre of Exeter. Rooms are of a good size, well equipped and cleverly designed. Obviously a lot of thought has gone into their look and feel. Options for breakfast very nice and hot options nicely cooked. The bar area is nice to hang out in
Staff a little lacking - could have been time of year or understaffing, but check in was a bit grumpy and service at breakfast a bit slow. Lack of parking close by is also an issue, although this can't be helped with the location
4.3
Super comfortable and stylish room, the location was perfect, there was a real buzz hotel.
4.3
The room was stunning. Beautiful decor.
4.3
Location was great and it was a lovely luxurious vibe throughout the roof top bar was a lovely touch with great views

Great hotel and facilities. Staff were really friendly.
Air conditioning could have been better as the room got quite hot at night.
4.3
Beautiful stylish hotel. Very friendly helpful staff. We did the half board option. Evening meal and breakfast were lovely. Our room was a premium king. Lovely size really well decorated room.
4.3
Decor was very nice. Clean. Bed comfortable. In the centre of town near shops and Cathedral.
very late check in (3pm). We arrived at 12pm and had to wait 3 hours !- no effort to rush. Was late for show. Ordered soup and sandwiches while waiting. Very over priced. Soup was lukewarm and no bread. Room very noisy with sound of many air conditioning units. Room not at all sound proofed for such a central location. Was looking forward to using roof top bar which was not open for the whole of our stay (not clear on advertising) ! Restaurant toilet had no toilet paper and no soap in any of the dispensers- I had to return to my room on 8th floor to wash my hands. Miles away from a car park and no parking to stop and unload outside.
4.3
Lively and modern refreshing stay. A cathedral view with the busy street below.
Nothing.
4.3
Rustikal modernes Hotel, relativ neuer Innenausbau eines alten Hauses. Sauber.
Schlecht ausgeschildert. Wegbeschreibung sollte konkreter sein.
4.3
Great location, decor inside is still in good condition.
A few things in the room hadn’t been cleaned since the last person who stayed (small mirror in the bathroom covered in beard hair, bathroom bin not empty). All the red emergency cables where tied at least a foot off the floor.
4.3
The bar was good. And the location was fab.
The breakfast experience was bad. Staff not doing a good job. Restocking the breakfast buffet out of plastic containers in the breakfast room. Poor standard for what you paid for. Running out of bowls and plates. Seating people at dirty tables and cleaning them in front of them.
The bed was not as big as advertised. Mattress was smaller that the bed frame.

Such a wonderful hotel, great location in the centre of the city, beautifully decorated rooms, clean and tidy and really friendly staff
The only reason we didn’t give the hotel 10 out of 10 was that my daughter’s room was above the lobby, and she had faint music through the night sounding like it came from the lift. Other than that the hotel was perfect.
4.3
Everything it exceeded everything I expected

very stylish and nice, would stay there again.
there was confusion with our massage booking at the spa (their system changed our booking time different to what our email confirmation had, so they'd given our booked times away) it ended up being resolved but it was stressful to deal with when we wanted relaxation, plus you need to pay extra to use the Sauna even if you've already paid for spa treatment which isn't great...

How one can stay in a Hotel where one can't reach by car or Taxi can't come?
Their breakfast is hopeless so is coffee.
I am 75 years old man so had to drag my suit case and carry on for long way-
Will never recommend this hotel to anyone
Told above
