The hotel is in a great location. Parking was a little expensive. Overall, it was a nice and convenient.
1.0 / 10.0
The room was dated, the room and hallway smelled, there was trash from previous guests there and a boot was installed on my vehicle after I paid for validation through the hotel.
1.0 / 10.0
I waited for 40 minutes to retrieve my luggage because there was no one at the front desk. This created a lot of anxiety as I needed to catch an international flight.
2.0 / 10.0
The check in process is horribly invasive and requires that you scan your face from multiple angles. If I had known this before choosing this property, I would have never done so. There are full-service hotels at the same price point without this nonsense. Besides that, the bathroom was a little run down. There is no parking. It's somewhat noisy with the streetcar passing by. And there is no service to assist with anything. I recommend staying an actual hotel at the same price point as there are many in the area.

My husband and I had stayed at the Lafayette previously and when we made it another trip to New Orleans with our son, the Lafayette was the perfect place again. We will continue to book our stay at the Lafayette. Very comfortable and clean and service minded. The staff is always amazing.

The hotel is older, but has a lot of character. The staff was super kind and friendly. We would definitely stay here again!!

Love the business district, very convenient to wherever you want to go.

Not only did this property charge me three times, the bathtub was clogged and after we called to get it fixed we were told maintenance would be there soon and nobody ever came. The front desk staff was amazing and the location is convenient but the hotel smells humid and there was a putrid smells in one of the elavator that was chalked up to “a dead mouse from the kitchen”. Overall, the bed was comfortable but I do not think I will be staying there again and I regret not listening to the reviews.

They were going thru emergency renovations. Denese was THE BEST at finding accommodations for us because of a mix up in beds in room. Props to her for going the extra mile! Would absolutely stay here again!

Great stay. Just wish the wifi issue wasn’t…an issue.

Given the reviews, we expected much better. From using the dirty bathroom in the lobby to water backing up in the bathtub and staff hanging around outside instead of attending to customers inside looking for help.

First trip to NOLA, came 2 days before cruise.
Positives: family of 4 adults, 2 kids, needed a room with multiple beds. found The Lafayette had 2 full sized beds, 1 pull out couch. Close to walk to French Quarter and Bourbon Street.
Negatives:
Day 1 arrived after driving 10 hours wanted to take a shower and nap a bit before walking. Decided to drop luggage go walking instead and once back, take a shower and sleep for the night. Wasn’t enough towels, called front desk, no answer. Called 4X, no answer. Couldn’t find anyone, 2 people ended up drying off with hand towels.
Day 1, tried calling front desk to let them know we had a leak in our room from the AC. floor is soaked and one entire side of the bed soaked. closet with a mirror on it directly underneath the AC and it’s completely soaked. No answer again. ended up taking the bag from the garbage can, placed a towel inside it. all night we heard the dripping. Had to deal with a wet mattress and covers.
Day 2, woke up that morning no one was at the front desk. Went out walking, came back to room,AC still leaking. Sent someone up.he sat a clear bucket and left. Horrible lighting in room, very few outlets, 4 big windows but can only open 1 blind! Water leaks all over the ceilings in hallways.

The hotel aesthetic was beautiful, but lacked cleanliness, tub had no stopper and it had an old carpet smell!

It was very welcoming. The manager Ms. Denise was amazing she helped us with activities to do in her hometown. Ms. Dominic was awesome as well and let's not forget the lovable Mr. Kevin. We'll definitely be back

The front desk lady was exceptional.
The hotel is old an outdated, but to not have a fridge in the room was wild. Its far from everything we went with a group of people. I wouldn't book myself but the front dest host was relly good an made sure we had everything we needed

The parking area is too crowded and too high for the property.

Everyone was so friendly and helpful telling us the popular restaurants to eat at and activities we could do. The one person tht stood out was Denise she was so friendly and made us feel welcome she also allowed us to check in early I think that was very nice of her . I would go back there and stay it was very quiet and peaceful.

I hate that I forgot the front desk lady name. She worked the day of our check in and she allowed us to check in early. She also made sure our rooms were clean and we had everything we needed. The valet staff was nice as well. The only con is the room temperature is controlled and it got hot during the day and sometimes during the night.

Stayed in a spacious suite with balcony, very friendly staff! Nice location between Garden District and French Quarters, with access to the Street Car.

Great location. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Aesthetically pleasing decor.

The location was very convenient for my trip. Staff were friendly and the public areas are nice. The suite was roomy but furniture was pretty dated and vanity lights did not work.

I stayed for one night during Essence Festival. The location is convenient to a local grocery store, CVS and restaurants.
The bellman was nice but the hotel felt very empty and unsecured in the late hours of the evening. There’s keyless entry to the front door but the door is very old and didn’t close behind me. The room was comfortable but the bathroom needed to be updated and I saw several bugs crawling (not sure what kind). I couldn’t figure out how to watch local channels on the Roku TV. I probably wouldn’t stay there again.

Close enough to all the NOLA action and activities but far enough to not be in the mix of it all for down time. Friendly, helpful staff.... Thumbs up to Kevin for being so kind.

We liked the age of the building and the cost. The hotel was understaffed during our stay and the rooms appeared understocked. The staff was pleasant. There was no bar of soap, just a small bottle of body gel, shampoo and conditioner. They had one small bag of coffee for the coffee maker, but no sweetener, creamer or stirrers. The first room we had was leaking water onto the couch and from the looks from the ceiling it had been an ongoing problem. The bathroom vanity had 4 light fixtures in it but only 1 light bulb was installed.
The rooms and beds were comfortable. Just don't expect much in amenities if you decide to stay. Overall, it was a good experience based on what was paid.

GREAT spot right on the St Charles trolley rout into the Garden District. Walk to everything. Close enough to the FQ but none of the noise. Comfy bed, nice people on staff.
