Myself and partner did not get told what time or where breakfast was, which led to missing breakfast sitting. Chief done us full English and watered down fresh orange (disgusting) had no choice of anything. The rest of our 2 night stay was us spending 70% of the time in the bathroom ill. Because of partner being full time carer of elderly father we have had to spend another two night at hotel to make sure father will not also become ill. This whole experience has became so much more expensive and has also caused a lot of trouble arranging father care. The room was clean to look at but thick dust on bathroom radiator also cobwebs, bathroom door doesn't even close so had to place objects to give privacy. Partner asthmatic so not good for chest. It's our last night and now key card doesn't open our room door so more inconvenience going down to see reception.

Hotel very dated.
Needs modernising.
Good location and free parking.

Has to be by far the worst stay we've had at scarsbrick. The room was awful, granted fit for just a night sleep if you like being uncomfortable. The room wasn't very clean, the bathroom had wires exposed, the loft hatch open. The noise level was horrendous, two windows which you couldn't open. Very bad stay.

This hotel is a disgrace. Booked 7 rooms in total and some rooms had no curtains, the windows didn’t shut properly, hotel was noisy with entertainment and people moving around noisily until 4:30am. There was a smell of smoke and drugs. An overall disgrace for my 7 staff who need rest after their long travel day and work. I’m need to request a full refund as some members of my staff drove off from the hotel to sleep in their cars in the quiet. More photos and videos to follow.

The receptionist gave me an upgrade as i was staying two nights. Nice twin bedded room with a bath. Comfortable and clean but some of the hotel needs a good deep clean.

The room was comfortable although a little compact.
The downside was that I was given a room opposite a pub that played very loud music until 4am on Sunday morning.

Former grand hotel seen far better days. Reception full of dirty plastic flowers and torn out of date notices. Individual staff very nice but difficult to find anyone who spoke English. Room clean but very shabby. Bathroom dangerous; deep bath with no handrails and difficult to access due to over large heavy Perspex panel. Should have had shower curtain instead. Room clean and beds comfortable. WiFi did not work.

First the good points location is great and staff were friendly. The bad points our main problem was the location of our room we were on top of a bar which played very loud music until 2.30 am we tried closing windows which made no difference and there was still noise after 2.30 just not as loud. The bathroom had a full length window with no net/curtains which looked out on the party alley below and was filled with a smoke smell, both our windows would nt close properly unfortunatly i will not be returning to this hotel

Property very dated, old furniture in rooms, tried to open window & handle fell off, old hairdryer did not work, small bed & hard mattress, 1 plug socket nor working properly & music from pubs outside until early hours of the morning.

Nice little hotel, although breakfast is not worth the £25 I paid for it. The bacon was rock hard sausages belonged in a crematorium and not a great range of continental breakfast. Bed wasn't the comfiest but for what we went for it was good enough! Stayed a couple times now first time having breakfast but won't be again. Booked 2 nights the room wasn't cleaned or refilled with tea and coffee during stay being on 4th floor wasn't easiest to get downstairs as lift takes 10 minutes to arrive when you press button. Also doesn't feel the safest lift.

The only thing to let our stay down was the loud music which went on till 4am. Otherwise I cannot knock anything

There was no Wifi information in the room or given to me at the desk. My room was along many corridors and up many stairs from reception so I tried to use mobile data but the signal was too poor. So I took the long walk to reception with my phone as I had an urgent trans action to perform which I would normally do on my laptop. The receptionist that evening told there is a charge in the room but no charge in the reception. I said since I had come all this way I would sit in reception in front of him and do the transaction. He did NOT ask me if I wanted wifi in the room and I of course demonstrated very much that I did not. I had to endure fowl mouthed loud guests arriving for half an hour while I struggled on my mobile to, but eventually did achieve. At no point did I log on to the guest wifi in my room. With my knowledge I have been charged £11.50 deceptively. In view of my struggles it must be refunded but also the room charge should be refunced too.

I believe there are 122 rooms here and had to park in pay and display. I tried the minimal spaces but could hardly fit my car down the route marked hotel parking. Building is clean and staff are lovely but building in dire need of refurbishment. Could here the nightclubs and bars till the early hours even with windows shut. As i said staff were brilliant but unlikely to use this hotel again in the future.

Staff were extremely polite. That's the only nice thing I can say about the place. I cannot comment on the food as I didn't try it. That's because the hotel was so disgusting that it put me off the food. It's VERY loud at night and my 11 year old son couldn't sleep because he didn't feel safe. We will not be staying here again.

Traditional often spacious pending on room allocation. Value for money, mid week or Sundays onward cost less than weekends, worth bearing in mind.
The staff have always been nice and helpful, we have been back a few times

Hotel was convenient in proximity to train station . Hotel is dated , poor decoration in the room , very noisy , every time doors in corridor outside our room banging shut , when people talking in corridor , we could hear every word , loudly. Windows in the room couldn't be shut to help drown out music from pubs.we know its a seaside resort but we would have expected a bit more ,

It's a difficult one this one. I suppose you get what you pay for. Personally I think that it's pretty good value for money and the best thing is that they are dog friendly. It's not for everyone, it definitely needs some investment, but if it gets it I probably won't be able to afford to stay there. The smoke alarm went off at 02:00 and there was a dead pigeon trapped in the bird netting outside our window. I still like the place though, I mean, we had stairs in the room to get to the ensuite.

Very outdated. The room we stayed in overlooked a nightclub so no sleep til after 4am for us. So we aked to be moved to a different room and Sue on the desk did a marvellous job in finding us a suite and away from the noise. But will ot be going back.
