Nice boutique hotel.
Not a place for physically disabled or elderly.

It's not like in the photos, the breakfast is just bage with terrible coffee, everything is bad and they don't give you your money back, although it's not what it says on the page.

The property is not user friendly for disability, due to the many stairs to access from.the main entrance to it.

Internet was poor, television didn’t work and the phone in the room cord keep coming out when you trying to make a call. I stayed in the room name “Nassau”.

We are repeat offenders and we plan on coming back again and again and again - for as long as we can (see "stairs" lol) - Marcy you were wonderful and kind and considerate and ridiculously accommodating - my wife and I have been together for 23 years and this place brought us back - yet again - to day 1 - thanks for everything - and we will most definitely see you again soon.

What you have to keep in mind is that this is a small boutique hotel that's more like a bed and breakfast. Given that, it is very quiet with beautiful views of the ocean and there are plenty of places that are within walking distance. There are a lot of steps but we knew that going into it and we didn't mind. Being such a small hotel I would expect things to be a little bit better upkept. For example, none of the remotes for our TV worked, we had issues with our shower as the hot water was not consistent, they provide beach/pool towels but they were not refilled often. The self serve bar is a nice feature but it is way overpriced and definitely not worth it, $9 for a beer! The local bars are around $5-6 and if you go to a liquor store they are around $3. Overall we enjoyed our stay as it was very quiet, relaxing and the hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was a little far from the tourist area. You need to plan rent a car in this case to avoid paying taxis every time you want to exit the hotel. Besides that every was great

Pleasantly surprised. Just needed a place close to the airport for a 1 night layover. The staff was very kind, The hotel unique, rooms decent, price was great, morning and nightly views from deck were great. Was very happy with the choice. It was a $100 taxi to downtown and back, so I woundn’t recommend staying here if they is your plan. But for airport ($10 minutes) and this part of the island, it’s great.

Nice place but it was a LOT of stairs to carry all of our heavy luggage up and down.

Great views and nice little pool. It is a ways away from most things you want. There is a small section of good beach right down the hill. Good spot if you are looking for quiet out of the crowds. Can catch bus to Nassau pretty easy right down the hill by the beach.

ASTA is conveniently located 5 mins from the airport. I just needed to pass through in Nassau.
I arrived and was greeted by a huge set of stairs - which having TWO heavy suitcases didn’t treat me well. Let alone the intercom to the reception wasn’t working for me. Once I was let in, I was very confused, could not find the reception which after asking a man on a ladder who was dealing with the current bee situation said to go up the stairs on the other side.
Finally the receptionist found me and I was able to check in.
The staff is incredibly friendly and always helpful. That’s a 5 star.
BUT. I was on the garden view room lower level. Who ever or whatever was above me (next level). Was so noisy. I barely got any sleep.
I’m sure if you’re on the higher levels this place is great for you.
It had its purpose for me, one night in Nassau.

The property is located in a nice area but the overall place is in need of updating.
The rooms and amenities need to be renovated and updated. The television was tiny with limited channels. Also if you have a problem walking do not book as there are a lot of stairs!
The staff was friendly and helpful.

The stairs were atrocious! Staff were very friendly and bed was very comfortable.
Area was okay, parking limited. Honour bar was a cool concept too.

We just stayed overnight to catch our flight back to the west coast of US (we stayed a week in the outer islands). Very cute boutique place - definitely low key and nice as we didn’t want to stay in a big resort and wanted to be close to the airport. Everyone was super nice and helpful especially the manager Marcie who let us check in early. You will definitely need to taxi or drive since there are no actual sidewalks - restaurants are walkable however it’s very sketchy since it’s along the street with no real sidewalk so it was a nail bitter as parts of the road had no shoulder at all. We definitely took a cab home after dinner. The airport trip was so fast like 7 minutes.

The hotel is beautiful and the food at the restaurant is delicious.
Unfortunately, our room smelled of mold, which made it hard to sleep.
We did not have a rental car, and at one point I walked to a nearby café which turned out to be closed. On the way there, I was nervous because there’s no sidewalk and so cars zip right next to you. On the way back, I decided to walk back along the beach to avoid the cars, but wound up coming across a crazy guy on the beach with his hand down his pants, who started following me. I ran for my life and at the door to the hotel I’d stupidly forgotten my key and they took their sweet time buzzing me in and didn’t ask why I was screaming “help,” but nevermind.
I never leave bad reviews but felt compelled to share this experience. If staying here it’s better to have a rental car or take a taxi. The beach nearby is not safe and not a place you could swim anyways as it’s all volcanic rock with a little bit of sand.
The view from the terrace is spectacular, though.

Lovely property. Be prepared to walk up a ton of stairs. I mean, a LOT of them. Other than that, it was a great spot for our overnight stay in Nassau before leaving for another island the next day.

The view was incredible and we really enjoyed our stay! The food at the hotel was delicious. Only downside was the management not answering the phone from our room.

This was the best experience ever!! The staff is absolutely amazing! Yes there are lots of stairs but didn’t bother us. It’s very private and the view is breathtaking.
We’ll be back!

Lousy service…no help with bags for a 5 flight entry to reception. Water pressure was not adequate and no temperature control in the shower.

a beautifully maintained historic boutique hotel perched atop the highest hill in Nassau, mile from the airport. What's not to love?

The plus: It's a very cute bed and breakfast, an old house with a lot of charm and a wonderful view of the sea. The food for dinner (Indian cuisine) is excellent. Staff is really nice and helpful
The less fun part: there is absolutely no insonorisation. You will ear everything. Our door opened alone when there was people moving around. The bed was way too soft. There is not much to see around, we try to go for a walk, but there is no walkway by the beach, and the streets behind are not that welcoming.
It's ok for a night before or after a flight, but another guest who planned to stay for the week was looking for something else.

We booked this hotel as it was close to the airport. As the title says this is very much a low key Bahamian hotel. The staff was very nice. Restaurant serves Indian fare which was good but little choice. Make sure you can walk stairs. Three flights to get to reception. Ask for a room on the 2nd floor. Those below can get very noisy with people walking above. There is a resort fee of $25 that either I did not see or was not mentioned when I booked. Breakfast was included but very meager.

The property was very clean, the customer service was more than adequate. They went above and beyond to make are stay comfortable.
The staff carried are bags to our room and the views from the restaurant balcony were serine and sir real. The Bar was open to the hotel guest at their convenience, the only downside is, if you don’t know how to mix a drink. Then wine is your only option. The other downside to the hotel is the rear balcony views are less than romantic. Unless watching planes land and take off is your thing. If you set your stay up thru Expedia (there are No Jet Tubes). Outside of these few issues we will definitely visit A Stones throw away. It’s perfect if you want a relaxing vacation to the Bahamas without the hustle and bustle of tourism, however it’s still close enough you can get a taste without being overwhelmed by the classic younger group get away.

I am a native of the Bahamas residing in the United States, i would like to go on record candcsay that residing at the property you get to experience the true majesty of the Bahamas. A lost era captured as soon as you make your way up an elegant stair way ✨️ onto the property. The highlight of this trip was interacting with the employees, an overall fantastic group of professionals. Your first interaction with any individual employed at this fine resort, you will discover that service is not only their passion it's truly just the culture. Shanique, Marcie and Jean. Thank you for making me feel like family and realizing that service that is second to none is just a Stone's Throw Away!

Floors and walls are thin we could hear everything from lobby and above us.

Many steps to access property. And then many more to access the rooms. loud music until 9:00 at night. Walls appeared to be paper thin. The view was nice, but most of the ocean views in Bahamas are gorgeous. Probably will not return.

I only stayed briefly but the member of staff who greeted me was extremely helpful and kind after a long journey to get there!

There was no power/electricity in the neighborhood which meant no water either. That’s no fault of the host. I left and booked other accommodations and requested a refund from Expedia.
