I had a very disappointing stay at Shinjuku Granbell Hotel. The room was extremely small—there wasn’t even enough space to walk comfortably. It was not clean, and the air conditioning was awful, making it impossible to relax. The mattress and pillows were of such poor quality that I ended up with neck and back pain.
The advertising was completely misleading, as the room appeared much larger in the photos. To top it off, the staff were very unfriendly and unhelpful throughout my stay. Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had, and I won’t be staying here again or recommending it to anyone.

The room was great and the service was great. But, my one complaint is that the refrigerator was not working properly. My food spoiled when stored and when I asked the front desk worker, he touched it, said it was somewhat cold(the room at 20C was colder than the inside of the fridge), and did not address the fact that it was not cold enough to hold actual food products. I have stayed over 4-6 times at Shinjuku Granbell and have never had a fridge that did not work. It was very disappointing as I had leftovers and perishable items.

The hotel was located to shinjuku eateries but felt uncomfortable being so close to the red light district. The room was small, bed sheets seemed as they had prep been slept in the bath room smelt of damp with a trickle of water running from the shower head. Would definitely not stay if I went back to Japan

Not 4 star hotel, more like a hostel, with loads of backpackers, piles of suitcases in the lobby, bar on the 17th floor, and additional fees on everything.
My room had a distinct smell, made me sick, and staff was inattentive to my please to move. When I did get a new room the respiratory stress went away. There are fans in the hallway, dehumidifiers available on the corridors - all indicators of a “sick building syndrome” situation.
Tiny rooms with constrained windows in the jailhouse aesthetic.

Location was decent, room was okay, but WiFi was unreliable and the shower EITHER had hot water OR had pressure, but not both. At this price point I expected much better.

Rooms are small and do not look like the pictures. Service is mediocre. The cleaning staff were friendlier and more welcoming than the front desk staff.

Excellent hotel in Shinjuku night life area

Nice hotel in the heart of Shinjuku. Close to train stations, shops and convenience stores. The rooms are a good size provided you are only in the room for sleeping. The bathroom is great and you’re provided two bottles of water each day. The only issue we had was trying to get down the elevator when checking out. It was extremely busy and had to cram into the elevators after being fed up waiting for more than 10 mins

I stayed at the shinjuku granbell Hotel for 5 days and 6 nights. My overall experience was delightful, the hotel is situated in such a way that allows for easy accessibility to the surrounding area of shinjuku. As for the facility itself, it was also very pleasant to stay it. I recommend the rooftop bar, the drinks are reasonably priced and the staff is super interactive. I highly recommend staying here if you’re looking to stay in the area, for 5 days and 6 nights , the price was too great to ignore.

Thank you!

Early check in was amazing! Nice and tidy rooms. Only down side is it isn’t as close to main subway lines or eating areas as other hotels I have stayed in Shinjuku. But lovely staff. Also not too close to eating spots.
