Big rooms, the villa is old but very well maintained. The host does a very good job and tries to please you. The stay gives you a Tuscan experience and is close to the city. It is ideal if you are traveling by car. The breakfast was simple but genuine homemade

The location of the villa was very convenient to visiting Florence and then come back to relax. The grounds of the villa were amazing. We loved the pool and the grassy area in front. Maximo and Gaia were so nice and helpful. The rest of the staff were very friendly. We loved the outdoor dinning there too. Very delicious. There was plenty of parking and it was very quiet.

Fascinating location in an 5 centuries old diomain with superb swimming pool. A little bit traffic noise but a nice experience. The Villa is an osteria as well.

An extraordinary experience living in a villa that is over 1,500 years old
Bad water pressure

Beautiful villa! Owners are very attentive and accommodating. About 4.5 miles from the Firenze train station and a quick taxi ride to the activities in Firenze (Florence). Gives you that country side villa feel, but still close to the city!

excellent location, quiet place

The host was exceptional. He was helpful and attentive. The area is also exactly what we anticipated. Beautiful scenery and quiet. The experience of staying in a villa is what we were looking for and this place met most of our needs.
While we anticipated the weather to be cold, we hoped for more heating inside the rooms. Since we stayed in the very spacious 3-bedroom unit, it felt cold and drafty. There wasn't a way to increase the heating. We also didn't ask about the fireplace because it didn't look functional and there was no wood. We ended up having to layer on clothes, keep all doors shut, and all stay in one room when we were inside. The shower was also weak. Since it was cold in the bathroom, I hoped for a hot shower, but the shower had a single stream of water. I was shivering during my showers and a quick shower was not possible because water was flowing so slowly. I understand that this is an older historic villa, which I should've thought about when considering heating and water issue. The toilet also needed to be flushed several times because sometimes the water didn't flow.
We loved the short experience of staying in a villa, but I'd imagine that with a couple of space heaters, fixing the toilet issue, and increasing water flow for the showers would sharply increase the experience of staying at this lovely villa. A few wall art such as paintings or vintage-style embroidery would also help with the drafty feel of the unit.

Dog friendly paradiso just outside of Florence. Space, Space, Space! Wonderful host. A mix of 1500 meets 1970s. Will definitely stay here again.

The villa as an object is extraordinary, the feeling is as if you have traveled to a wonderful calm past. An unforgettable feeling. Massimo was very kind and his behavior completed the feeling of a beautiful stay.
If you intend to stay in Florence, do not miss opportunity to stay in the extraordinary Villa il Padule.

Nice swimming pool but too deep for young children
dirty oven, aircon not working properly and no aircon in 2 bedrooms only in 1 bedroom. Bedbugs.

Nice luxorious stay..Big rooms and big swimming pool. Not overcrowded. Friendly host and staff.

Our appartment was clean and located in an old villa with a lot of charm with wooden floors and chandeliers. The location so close to Florence was the reason we chose Il Padule, but the relaxed way the Hosts Massimo and Gaia run the place was the best! We were there during a heatwave and loved the pool and the eveningdinners in Gaia’s restaurant in the garden, with lots of little lights!

Lovely and authentic place, a real oasis just outside of busy Florence. Perfect place to be near all the sights and fun and at the same time have some peace and quiet. Owners are friendly and helpfull. The pool is large and since there are just a few apartments, you often have it just to yourself;)
Just to note that you need a car, or you would need to use taxi. Not sure if it can be reached by public transport. This is not a minus, just a fact to be considered.

Agreed to arrive 2h before, but then needed to wait 45min.
The swimming pool is large and very nice, but the water was dirty (not very transparent) and had strange green color. The WiFi connection worked from time to time. The most problematic was the landlord who should understand better how to please guests and listen to their needs and not ignore them.

The villa is nice. The biggest room ever.
Very good parking.
A basket of fresh bread for breakfast.
Reachable mainly by car.

Silvia was a very sweet lady/host. Breakfasts were excellent. The house/property is 'unbelievable' - just beautiful. The pool is great. The location is perfect (15 minute drive to Florence). The best part of our 2-week trip to Italy.
