This is a special place with an amazing view of Windsor Castle and excellent proximity to Windsor Great Park & the Long Walk. It’s everything you would imagine an English cottage to be! It’s inviting and comfortable - my family and I felt at home as soon as we walked through the cute French doors. All the rooms are wonderfully appointed. It’s a well-stocked cottage that comfortably slept my family of five. The gardens surrounding the property and the back patio are the perfect setting for relaxing, enjoying the view of Windsor Castle/countryside and daydreaming with a cup of tea and some biscuits.

All the glowing reviews of this property are correct. It is just perfect. Hamish was so very personable and helpful. We originally planned a day in London but instead spent an additional day around Windsor. The house was everything we were hoping to find on our holiday. My elderly father stayed and watched TV and napped with the windows of the cottage open while we went out. We all enjoyed our time there.

My husband and I cannot say enough good things about our stay with Hamish and Susie! This was BY FAR the best VRBO we ever have stayed in. There was not one detail missed. It was very well maintained, clean, beautiful location, the grounds were gorgeous and the host were next level helpful. The communication was 10 stars! We have 4 very large boys all over 6’3 and they were very comfortable in the beds. There were so many extras that made our trip easy. A beautiful welcome basket filled with snacks and drinks, toiletries, blow dryer, washing machine. This place has it all. My husband and I CANNOT wait to come back and visit. Next time for longer! Thank you so much, Hamish and Susie! You helped make our first trip to the UK an unforgettable, beautiful experience.

Stayed at the lodge for a short break. Ideally located for Lapland UK and Windsor Castle. Hamish and Susie were great hosts, excellent communication and welcome when we arrived. The property is nice and cosy, well equipped and with a a good size garden if you have a 4 legged friend. Right on the doorstep of Windsor Great Park for walks. Hamish's stories of the Royals and a very famous 'Neighbour' were great, he had us enthralled from the moment we arrived. I must say also that the welcome pack was one of the best we have ever had, very generous thank you. Overall a very enjoyable stay and would highly recommend. Many thanks.

This cottage hits all the marks. It’s a nice quiet place to relax and enjoy nature around you but only an Uber ride into town, which was so easy and always available. Hamish and Susie were stellar host and always available if and when needed. The cottage felt like home immediately and you can’t beat that view of Windsor Castle.
Hamish met us upon arrival, showed us around and went above and beyond to get us settled.
Couldn’t have asked for a better place to be while on holiday.

I hesitate to say too much about how amazing this property is because I want it to be available the next time we stay in Windsor!
Hamish and Susan MacMillan were terrific hosts. The cottage is a real gem. It is charming, beautifully furnished and extremely clean. We were welcomed with fresh cut flowers and a well stocked and furnished kitchen. We were very grateful for the "Welcome Basket" complete with a bottle of wine, crackers, cheese, farm fresh eggs, chocolate, cookies, milk, etc. Everything you would need before you can make to the store.
The location is perfect and the grounds have wonderful gardens and outstanding views of Windsor Castle across a flower filled Meadow. There are many good restaurants and pubs nearby, Hamish was very helpful with recommendations.
I had better stop now or it will be fully booked when I want to come stay again which I hope will be very very soon!

We can't say enough about this lovely house & spectacular property! It is so relaxing with wonderful views - especially, but not limited to, of Windsor Castle! Hamish & Susie are very welcoming & provided a lot of local info. They were always quick to respond to texts & emails. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

This was a trip for my husband's 50th and we travelled with my Mum and our sausage dog. It was a great celebration weekend. The cottage is very conveniently located less than 20 minutes from Bray where we had reservations at the Waterside Inn,15 minutes from Windsor and 5 minutes from Old Windsor where there was a Co-op a couple of restaurants and a farm shop that had good food and was a nice cafe for coffee and cake. The cottage was great, the beds were very comfy with lovely linen. The TV had Sky. The kitchen had everything you could need to self cater including loads of basics such as butter, oil, maple syrup, mustard that not all self catering cottages supply. The welcome pack was extremely generous cheese, crisps, wine, bread, jams, coffee, tea, biscuits and chocolates that we swore we wouldn't eat, but we opened the lot and thoroughly enjoyed them! Opposite the cottage was a field owned by Hamish and Susie that we could use to walk the dog which was a bonus. There was also a sizeable garden with the property. The garden isn't secure so we had to keep our dog on a lead as he has no recall - but that wasn't a problem. Hamish was lovely helpful in introducing us to the cottage and how everything worked and informative on the local area which carparks to use etc. We all thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay and would highly recommend the property.

Reserve the Victorian Lodge cottage with confidence! Our hosts, Hamish and Susie, made us feel welcome and at home on arrival. The welcome basket was lovely! We had several busy days, so our family of 5 enjoyed relaxing in the living room and other areas of this spacious cottage. The kitchen, laundry, bathrooms and other areas of the cottage had all the items we needed and more for our two weeks stay! Each bedroom was comfortable and having two bathrooms was extremely convenient. Outside, the gardens were beautiful and perfect for enjoying the view of Windsor Castle and the sunsets in the evening. The recommendation by Hamish of the Fox and Hounds pub close by was wonderful with a charming atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food! We are thrilled with our choice to stay at the Victorian Lodge and we have many wonderful memories from our visit. Thank you again, Hamish and Susie, for your warm hospitality and amazing cottage! We hope to return some day!

Incredible find!
This cottage is an incredible find! Absolutely charming home about 20 minutes from Heathrow in idyllic countryside. Close to Windsor castle and Legoland. Charming pub nearby. The owner could not be nicer or more helpful. Hope we can return someday!

In a word, Extraordinary!
This country cottage is perfect in every way. Our family of 5, including 3 young adult children 18-22, had plenty of space and enjoyed every minute being in the Old Windsor countryside. Hamish and Susie are incredible hosts, and offered great suggestions for local pubs and activities. We especially enjoyed nearby access to walking trails in Great Windsor Park including the Long Walk to the castle and town. Incredible sunsets from the kitchen window of the cottage each night, overlooking Winsdor Castle. We highly recommended this setting for a family vacation!!

Wonderful
Brilliant three nights break with friends - fabulous time. We stayed 5 years ago and just had to come back. Hamish is the perfect host the Lodge is fabulous only criticism we have is the Sofa’s seat cushions and beautiful chair need to be re plumped as you feel as though you are sitting on the floor. Which is uncomfortable. But overall experience brilliant and in a beautiful setting.

Charming and relaxing stay
Our stay at Victorian Lodge was absolutely perfect! Hamish and Susie were gracious hosts who provided a lovely cottage, with fresh flowers; a welcome basket full of breakfast foods and treats (yay, shortbread!); the best tea ever (M&S Gold 😉); and a fireplace already made-up for a crackling fire whenever we wanted it. Hamish was so responsive and helpful in answering any questions we had and providing directions and recommendations. The setting of the cottage was lovely and private, and the view of Windsor Castle was an added bonus that never got old. I would highly recommend a stay at Victorian Lodge and look forward to returning there myself and introducing it to other members of my family.

Perfect Windsor Cottage
The cottage is in a great location, very peaceful surroundings with amazing views of the castle. The accommodation was very comfortable, we travelled as a family of 5 with dogs, lots of room for all! The kitchen was well stocked and we were given a very generous welcome basket on arrival. Hamish met us at the property and gave really helpful advice on places to visit and where to eat and drink. We would highly recommend this property.

Gem of a cottage
My family fell in love with this beautiful cottage. The grounds are well kept, the cottage is well equipped and our time there was relaxing. The cottage has 3 sizeable bedrooms, one with a bath ensuite, a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine, a great kitchen/diner as well as Sky, Netflix and WiFi. The cottage is well placed for walks and a short drive to Windsor. Our hosts were incredibly helpful and friendly with some great stories about their glamorous neighbours. I would happily return to this special place and look forward to booking my next trip.

Charming Victorian cottage in an idyllic setting
Five of us made the Victorian lodge home for a week, during the autumn half term break, and we all had a fantastic time. First of all, the warmest of welcomes awaits when you arrive, along with with a generous ‘welcome pack’ to get you started, which you are actively encouraged to obliterate! For those that wish to venture out, Hamish can provide with plenty of information on good restaurants and other things to do in the locale, as well as a good run down of how everything works in the lodge. We actually self catered the entire week and the kitchen was happily up to the task (we had up to four of us beavering away at any one time). The cottage itself is charming, full of character and well appointed. Its just a lovely place to be, particularly if you like escaping to the country for a bit of peace and quiet. It is also well situated for those wanting to take advantage of the walking and cycling opportunities afforded by Windsor great park (Hamish can tell you the best entrances and good things to look out for). It’s worth adding that, despite its age, the cottage is nice and warm, and there’s absolutely no shortage of hot water. There’s also good wifi throughout , which is handy, and there’s a selection of games as well as access to Netflix to help keep you amused. The lodge is beautifully situated. The bedroom to the rear of the property has an uninterrupted view, across the neighbouring farm, of Windsor castle, while, beyond the gravel driveway at the front is a large field where the owners keep their horses. The whole place is beautifully kept, and is genuinely a little oasis of tranquility. However, it is still comfortably close to civilisation and we made good use of the little Co-Op, which is about five minute drive away. For those interested in getting a shopping delivery, both Sainsbury’s and Ocado are able to deliver to the lodge (we had one of each and they were both able to find us without any problems). To finish up, we had a super time here and I am in no doubt that the lodge’s very high rating is well deserved. I suspect we’ll be back at some point.

Charming 19th Century Lodge
Just returned from a weekend at this lovely property, which is situated in a picturesque setting.
The lodge is fully equiped with everything and is very cosy and warm.
It's location is perfect for those wanting to visit Windsor, Ascot, Legoland etc but is also perfect for anyone wanting to relax and unwind, e.g. walking in Windsor Great Park and seeing the Deer.
The owner, Hamish, is an absolute Gentleman, he just wants you to have the perfect time and his knowledge of the area is second to none.
Would recommend to anyone.

We had such a great family weekend at the Lodge. It is such a beautiful house in an equally beautiful setting. The house has absolutely everything you need and if not then Hamish will sort it for you. Communication was great and he just wants you to have the best time while you are staying. I have never seen such a thoughtful welcome basket. Can’t fault anything at all. It felt like home from home. Thank you Hamish for a fantastic weekend.
