Great view of the city.
The cleaning man chastising me for walking on the owner’s grass and violating the owner’s personal space.

Nice location on the Hilo side. Room and bathroom clean. Small fridge, microwave, coffee maker. TV. Would have been nice to stay longer. Maybe next time. Very close to Hawaii Volcano Park

My room had an incredible vista down to the ocean, it was wonderful to wake up to! Very cozy room with all your basic amenities, it was perfect for a shore stay in Hilo. Beautiful garden with hammocks and cats! Haha :)

Great location, unparalleled views of the city and bay. Nice Jacuzzi!
No real space to sit and eat comfortably. Just two very nice bar stools and a mini table. Rather dine out.

No breakfast was served. Excellent location with a beautiful view of Hilo.
Too many rules and instructions. Seasoned travelers already understand how to respect accommodations and behave well.

The location and views were excellent. It's a great spot to sit outside and enjoy a beer in the late afternoon. From Hilltop we were a few minutes walk (downhill) to central Hilo and in under an hour drive to the Mauna Kea observatory, Waipi'o, Kalapan and Volcanoes National Park. The house was very clean and there was option for a daily room service. The resident cat was a wonderful host and one who, I like to think, became a good friend.
There is very limited facility to cook and prepare your own food, which isn't the end of the world but means more waste in packaging should you want to eat at Hilltop. We took a lot of our rubbish with us, which we had already become used to doing on the island so it was no big deal. Atlas Recycling, in central Hilo, take most glass, tins/cans and cardboard.

the view was great. everything was good and well advertised

The outside area looked pretty, but we didn't use for fear of making noise and pissing off the neighbors.
Room was tiny and cramped. They were very very very clear they are in a court dispute with the next door neighbors, so we could not park anywhere near their SHARED driveway. And had to be absolutely silent at all times outside... Was just so uncomfortable.
Message to property owner: Figure out your land dispute battles before continuing to book rooms.

This was our third time staying here and it is our go to place to stay! The room we stayed in this time was a beautiful ocean view and had a beautiful set up within the room.

The location of the house and the apartment were as described. At first we did not find it, but a short call was enough and we were guided there. Just drive to the house on the street which is "on the Top". Easy!
The view from the huge window of the apartment was impressive.
Everything was available for making coffee. The entrance to the house and to the appartement was very easy, but safe secured.
We were a bit annoyed that there was no possibility for us to take a warm shower. The water was and remained cold. Although we complained about this the same day, it did not work the next morning either. But: the owner showed understanding and paid a reasonable amount back immediately.

The view of the harbor was excellent. I was pleased to see they were making improvements to the property.
The windows need cleaning and some new paint would be nice. But I know renos take time!

Great view
Pungent urine smell. Paper thin walls. The neighbors are in litigation due to intrusive behavior of guests. More a solo room hostel than hotel. No coffee! Very steep hill.

The property was gorgeous! Amazing ocean views. Clean room with plenty of space.
Shower pressure was a little off but otherwise everything was amazing!

Great view
It took 5 minutes to get hot water in the shower

large room, wonderful view from the apartment as the house is on top of a hill.
On the map it looks close to town, but it is way too far to walk as it is on top of a very steep hill. Food delivery not possible (apart from McDonalds) due to the location.

We stayed in the largest suite (Room 1) and were very happy. The view of the town and ocean was exceptional and the host was nice and friendly. The small window AC kept the room very cool and lots of windows opened if you prefer a breeze and the sound of coqui frogs at night.
The house was built in the 1930s and there are so many charming features that made this place special. There were 3 large closets plus a cool cedar-lined one, an Art Deco vanity in a large dressing room area, large platform bed, and original wood floors and antique glass bricks in the suite and throughout the house.
Don’t stay here if you want a cookie-cutter, antiseptic hotel. It was very clean but it’s an old house and there are some quirks. Yes, parking is tricky but manageable. You have to step over a tile berm to get into the bathroom. The electrical plugs are on the wall opposite the bed so you can’t charge AND use your phone while lying in bed. These things will surely be fixed as the owner renovates. Until then, you adapt and enjoy the uniqueness of the place!
Some of the minor quirks I already mentioned.

I enjoyed my stay with Jade,Tami & their furry friend Snowball too!
This beautiful home is at the top of a long hill. I walked up to the home several times & used an uber when too tired for the hill.

We left the next day
The room had no ac. It had a fan that didn't oscillate. It was hot.

The view.
The bed was old, it caved towards the middle. They put a pad on there but didn’t help. The bathroom was remodeled but nothing else. Coffee pot but no coffee cups. No bath mat so we had to use a small hand towel for the floor.

It was located near everything. Jade was very nice and quick to answer our requests. I really enjoyed Snowballs (resident cat) company. Such an adorable outside cat that had a lot of personality! Will be staying there again on our next Hilo trip.
I liked everything!
