Breakfast was very good and freshly prepared
Hotel is a long walk from the ferry .
4.3
Maybe the best stay in Douglas, the food and the service and the design…just amazing.
4.3
As above
Parking. Hotel advised they had car parking and when I booked I advised them I would like a parking space l. The hotel then subsequently emailed a reply advising me that they don't actually have parking but told me that there is plenty of free parking at their end of the Promenade with no time restrictions. This is not the case.

Good location, nice room with sea views. Hotel standards in Douglas aren't great generally, but this is one of the better places. The attached restaurant is run by a separate operator, and serves good food with an old-fashioned menu -- it's popular with local people for special occcasions.
Hotel is tired, old fashioned and needs a revamp, akthough by Isle of Man standards it's good.. Breakfast offering is poor with untrained staff, you'd do better in a traveloodge.

very nice location
breakfast closed by 9.30 am sharp!

The breakfast was very good but could have benefitted from introduction of variety day to day.
Location close to the electric and horse drawn trams as well as fronting the lovely bay was also very good
The view from what was a relatively expensive room wasn't good! All we could see was a service road and the rear of the adjacent building
4.3
Location good, and had a room with sea view as requested. Room cleaning was very good. Staff very friendly and efficient.
The breakfasts were not good, as food left in heating trays rapidly cooled and dried out, and choice was limited (for instance no continental breakfast option which would have sorted out the poor hot storage). Coffee was always lukewarm, whereas tea was hot and freshly brewed. The restaurant was closed on Sunday and Tuesday, and bar snacks only offered. We had one meal which was tasty and well presented, but had to wait 45 minutes between courses. Wonderful vintage lift was fun, but anyone with the slightest claustrophobia should ask for a first floor room.
4.3
great location, clean and tidy
the bed was way too soft, and was actually just two mattresses piled on top of each other
4.3
The hotel was centrally located to visit any part of the Isle of Man, the decor was lovely and true Regency style, my bedroom on the 4th floor was quiet, comfortable with a shower and tea making facilities, free chilled bottled drinking water, tv and DVD player. The lift was small and quaint but did the job. The restaurant was superb with a good choice of dishes. Bar food, which again was beautifully cooked and presented was also available. My only criticism would be that it didn’t have it’s own car park but I understand that this probably applies to most if not all the hotels along the Promenade due to the fact that when these hotels were built, around the 1890’s, car parks weren’t thought of and also there is a sheer rock face behind the hotels making it expensive or impossible to build backwards. All in all, helpful staff, lovely building and excellent food.
Car parking, see above.

lovely hotel, tastefully modernised without spoiling the original character, great service, very good breakfast. we had a ground floor Art Deco room lovely but no view. very good location at North end of Douglas promenade.
4.3
Spacious room on 2nd floor facing the sea with bay window.
Breakfast was good quality standard British mainly self service.
Limited choice of bread, just toast ordered from staff and small basket of croissants between everyone. No rolls or other variety.
4.3
The location, the hotel staff, the food, everything except the nasty little waitress that I got stuck with twice.
The nasty little waitress in the wonderful restaurant connects to the hotel.
4.3
Situated looking out onto beach. Breakfast good
Can’t write anything to ‘this We enjoyed the hotel, staff very friendly Hotel kept top top. Would definitely stay again
4.3
location was great beautiful wood panelled rooms, lounge, bar and breakfast room and stained glass windows every where
cooked breakfast was poor good quality food badly cooked not hot enough bacon and sausages dry coffee poor and tea out of the flasks was awful
4.3
Fairly good
The coffee and the tea - stewed and tepid. Having to wait in the bar for the breakfast table to be set.
4.3
Large spacious en'suite room
windows with no view and very little natural light
4.3
Breakfast ok. Not a lot of selection.
The rooms. Although we were placed close by our friends. The rooms were at the rear of the building, facing a rock face, overlooking the bins, no views. The rooms had a bedroom, bathroom and an OFFICE! No easy chairs to sit, totally wasted space. We put pillows on the fold up luggage rack to sit on. The lift up to the floor was archaic, we had to do two trips to take up the luggage. There was NOWHERE to plug in a hair drier by a mirror to be able to do our hair. We actually had to go and buy a mirror to use while sitting on the bed. On arrival, we asked to be moved to other rooms but were told no rooms available. Our rooms were supposed to be double deluxe rooms.
4.3
Breakfast was good as were the staff serving.
Room was depressingly dark at the back of the hotel, shower leaked all over the floor and bedding had stains that looked like blood
