Camera con vista :)

Camera molto grande con terrazzo che affaccia direttamente su Modica antica, bagno con finestra e parcheggio libero davanti all'appartamento. Il fiore all'occhiello è sicuramente la colazione abbondantissima, varia e davvero buona e il panorama.

L'appartamento è sul versante opposto rispetto al centro "turistico" di Modica, quindi per raggiungerlo occorre l'auto.

Gracious host helped me greatly answering questions and directing me to city places for meals/ sightseeing.

I prefer real coffee for breakfast not brewed.

Camera e bagno molto spaziosi e pulitissimi. Anche il balcone era molto ampio con una vista mozzafiato su Modica. Colazione squisita con molta scelta anche di dolci fatti in casa

Stunning views over Modica from this property.

The La Terrazza Dell'Itria is located at one of the highest points over the town of Modica with the result that there are stunning views overlooking all the town and particularly the cathedrals - they're amazing when you first walk into your room. The landlady provided a first class breakfast with a far greater choice of food than it's possible to eat. The contact point (her son?) spoke good English, was very responsive, and provided great directions when TomTom failed to identify the road. Parking immediately outside - a scarce commodity in Sicily old towns!

Nice place to stay if you come by car or moto

The most amazing things about this place are the view over the city and the breakfast. The owner is very nice too, you feel like you are visiting your Italian grandmother.

I think it should be specified in the description that if you are on foot it's very hard to reach. I had walked uphill from the train station with my luggage on a very hot day and it was painful and long. There should be at least an option where they should arrange a kind of transfer. Going downhill has its charm and is easier, but it's still quite long. The only solution that I found was to take the trenino barocco up to the view point and then walk for another 5-10 minutes, but in the dark and a street where many cars where young people are hanging out it's not very safe either. Another little detail I didn't like is that things were thrown away from the room without being in the trash. I had left on purpose some water in a bottle and it was gone after the cleaning. I could understand for something that is a cleaning hasard, but in this case it just seemed intrusive. The fridge in the room was also not working. It was a huge old one that was overheating. I turned it off as I didn't really need it.

Awesome Value, Amazing Views

Amazing views, room was basic but still very nice and clean. The bathroom was nice. The little old lady was sweet. She didn't speak English but she told me to open the windows when I entered the room and the view was definitely a major highlight of my holiday. Walking down the stairs to the town centre was also fun.

Great view of the town & a warm & friendly stay!

The proprietor antonetta was so obliging and friendly. She gave precise directions and her breakfast was a feast! Only trouble was google maps has not located her place well enough and I had trouble getting to her place! But she was great!

A wonderful hill-top eyrie - with free private parking!

The room was very comfortable with a great ensuite shower plus a separate side room with a cooker and fridge which could be used as a mini-office/kitchen (which we didn't need for a 1 night stay but one could be comfortably based here for a week). The buffet breakfast (coffee served by the proprietress, who could not have been kinder throughout) was lavish and delicious. The location, high above Modica, gave a stunning view from the bedroom of the city. Plus free private parking right outside the building.

Clean, well equipped rooms with comfortable beds and all facilities needed for travellers. The host is lovely and very hospitable, warm and friendly and she gave me great advice on parking in the centre of Modica and how to navigate to the main sights. The breakfast was abundant with fresh foods to prepare for a day walking in Modica. When I showed an interest in learning about local edible plants she also showed me the wild capers that grow from the wall nearby which was just lovely. A great place to stay which is great value for money, I highly recommend B&B La Terrazza dell'Itria.

Poor

We are experienced travellers and think very carefully before posting any negative review. As identified by a few other reviewers, the Google map directions were a major problem for us. We were directed to a shabby part of Modica well outside the historic town. We had to ring the contact multiple times to eventually find the B&B at least 15 minutes by car from the incorrect location. The contact was incredibly difficult to deal with. Unwilling to provide the actual street address and eventually telling us by text to "catch a taxi". The contact was not on site for us to take up his behaviour issues in person. We arrived frustrated and stressed, greeted by a nice elderly woman who spoke only Italian. My Italian is good enough for me to understand we were by no means the first guests to experience the treatment we had. The B&B location would be difficult to access without a car/taxi. While the views from the best rooms are spectacular, it is a long and challenging walk to the historic centre by foot. The references to nearby restaurants within 400 metres on the B&B profile are deceptive as these are 'as the crow flies' distances across the deep ravine that separates the B&B and the historic centre, not reflecting what is involved to access these restaurants by car or by foot. We made do with a single restaurant nearby. One of the better rooms with a fine view, spotlessly clean, handy car parking and a generous breakfast only went a little way to make up for the customer 'non-service'.

A short but very good stay.

Breakfast was exceptional with homemade pastries. Location very easy to reach. Parking in front of guest house a big plus. Excellent value for money.

We had the room overlooking the side, and not the back where you get the best view. However we arrived late at night and left the next morning, so it wasn't an issue. The room (and the bathroom) are rather small.

Need some improvement

The actual owner is nice and he waited for us even we arrived for a late check-in. The place is a old house quite near Modica center but I would not recommend to reach it by foot. Very old fashioned and little, but clean and not at all expensive. View is amazing but be sure to book a terrace-view room.

La Terrazza Dell'Ittria offers staggering views over the old town of Modica-- something out of a dream. Breakfast also excellent and varied, the manager extremely friendly and inviting, and the room comfortable, functional, and big. A climb to get from the commercial center back to the hotel, but that's part of the enjoyment. The best place to stay when in Modica-- waking up to the astounding views is really magic.
