Little oasis in Mérida

Hotel La Piazzetta was like a little oasis in the heat of Mérida. We stayed a couple of days and felt like home. Not only because it is a beautiful place but also because of the people who run it and work there. Thanks for the great stay!

Le meilleur point de chute pour visiter le Yucatán !!

Grâce à Léo, nous avons profité au maximum de notre séjour à Merida! On a adoré l’hôtel et ses nombreuses plantes vertes, la décoration chaleureuse, les chambres confortables et très propres. On s’y s’en bien et on a envie d’y rester plus longtemps ! Avec les recommandations de Léo, on a pu mangé dans les meilleurs restaurants de la ville, chaque repas plus délicieux que le précédent, des adresses connues ou moins. On remercie chaleureusement Léo qui a sublimé notre court séjour à Merida et qui nous a aidé à prioriser nos visites et sorties.

a perfect hotel for a memorable visit to Merida

The staff was beyond hospitable and the facility itself was perfect. it’s a great location, easily walkable to all major downtown sites. Leo is the consummate host !

Great stay with a friendly host

Leo was incredibly nice and helpful. The room was nice and had doors which opened up to a view of the park opposite.

The room didn't have any windows besides the large main windows, which couldn't be left open during the day or at night.

Beautiful boutique hotel with tropical garden

Beautiful boutique hotel in a great location (5-10 min walking distance to the main square). The room, beds and shower were super comfortable, while the huge amount of tropical plants and antique furniture in the common areas give La Piazetta a tropical colonial feel. That said, the French owner Leo made the place a 10 for us! Not only was he super helpful, friendly and charming, he also looks a bit like a young Anthony Hopkins!

Hidden gem in the center of Mérida

Cute little hotel tucked away on the sides of a little plaza not far away from the main sites of the historical center of Mérida. The room was really clean and well kept, ours was really quiet at night. The breakfast with coffee and croissants was an excellent start into the day, especially as Leo, our very attentive host, would share a lot of very useful travel tips. The common area at the entrance and the lush green backyard are great places to hang out or have a chat with the wonderful hosts. Leo, Giselle, Augustin and the whole team at La Piazzetta have made our stay in Mérida feel like a home away from home - thank you very much!

Quaint and charming small hotel.

It is a quaint and charming small hotel. The room was comfortable, well appointed, and very clean. The coffee and croissant was an excellent start to our day, and the water refill was really appreciated.

The host has a lot of good tips to give about the area and is doing its best so your stay would be as plaisant as possible. The hotel is the most charming I have been in Mexico, really love the deco The bedroom is confortable, with all the equipment needed The hotel is in a quiet location, 10 min away from the main square, there is plenty of free parking around

Unique and enjoyable.

We have stayed at his place before and liked it so well we came back. Next time we'll stay longer. It combines the laid back, creative atmosphere of a contemporary coffee house with a guest-house style hotel. The rooms are quiet and very comfortable. The staff are great and go out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. You are only two doors down from the contemporary art museum and next door to a good place to eat. Staff are exceptionally helpful. With their help we were able to get a 3:30AM taxi ride to the airport, coffee and breakfast croissant while we waited.

No complaints. I love this place.

Exceptional

What a gem of a place. Leo and everyone at the front desk really were so helpful with tips and advice. I had a short stay in Merida but immediately got a sense of where to go and what to eat thanks to Leo’s guidance. The room was beautifully furnished and I loved sitting on the hammock admiring the greenery and catching a glimpse of the two cats. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

I will definitely return to La Piazzetta on trips to Merida.

La Piazzetta Hotel has a very laid-back, homey atmosphere, which appealed to me. The room was clean, the AC quiet and efficient, the bed comfortable, and it was very quiet, compared with other places where I've stayed in Mexico. The hosts were gracious, helpful and informative and were quick to provide a coffee or tea with a treat. The hotel is just a couple of blocks from the cathedral and major dining and shopping districts.

Amazing hotel for a city break

This hotel is the perfect example of hospitality and is just what we wanted for a city break. Location was great with lots of great restaurants, bars and shops nearby. The room was nicely decorated and impeccably cleaned when we arrived and each day of our stay. The beautifully decorated foyer was a great place to start the day with a free morning coffee and pastry. The highlight, however, was Leo, the owner, who was incredibly helpful, friendly and made us feel very welcome. His recommendations were amazing, helping us make the most of our stay.

Had a wonderful stay. The owners and staff are lovely hosts and the location is great.

Lovely small hotel near the city center with a ton of charm and very welcoming owners and staff. They made me feel right at home and were always helpful in terms of what to do in town, where to eat, day trips, etc. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood just a short walk to the town center. Nearby are many tasty, hip and less touristy restaurants and bars. Would highly recommend to those visiting Merida.

Exceptional

We stayed here a few weeks back while visiting Merida. The staff was soo kind and welcoming and was willing to let us practice speaking Spanish with them even though our Spanish isn't very good. They went above and beyond giving us directions and recommendations for restaurants and things to see in and around the city. They even bought us a drink from their very nice mezcal and tequila selection when we got engaged during the trip. If we're ever in Merida again, we will definitely come back and stay here.

Leopoldo is a wonderful and caring host and he made us feel like in a 5 * hotel. His advices are precious as much as his talks.

Great place, amazing hosts

We had an amazing stay at La Piazzetta. Room, location and property are lovely. But most thanks goes out to the lovely hosts who gave a lot of tips for things to do in and around the city and were super kind and helpful when we didn’t feel so well. Would definitely come back!

Very friendly, chilled vibe and great central location

This hotel was the best! Leo the owner is super friendly and helpful. He goes out of his way to provide advice and ideas about what to do. He booked a great tour for me and informed of many free events happening in the city. A gorgeous space filled with plants, and relaxed vibe. Leo, his wife and Augustin the night duty all made me feel very welcome as a solo traveller. Whole heartedly recommend!

Lovely and cozy hotel in a nice location

Leo and Augustin are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. I received great tips and recommendations, clean towels for the beach, help with my laundry or anything I needed - they are there for you 24/7 which is very comforting :). The hotel is in a nice and safe area, walking distance to the main attractions, restaurants or bars. You have free parking in front of the hotel, lovely rooms, properly cleaned every day. All in all, a very nice and cozy hotel that I definitely recommend!

The location of the hotel is couple of minutes walk from the Zocalo, which is very convinient. You can get anywhere you needs (bus station, sightseeing, restaurants etc.) by foot. The rooms are nice and beds are comfortable. The inner yard and cafe downstairs are a great places to relax. The staff is friendly and goes beyond to help.

Host was amazing and friendly. He provided great advise on the best places to eat and what to see in our few days in Merida. The room was lovely and clean with pretty decor. Shower was great. Would definitely recommend.

The host is super nice. He makes me feel like home. He even brought me a table in my room because I had an important meeting one morning. He recommended me lots of cool restaurants, bars and neighborhood to visit. The hotel is quite cute and quiet. All the facilities are very comfortable and handy. I totally loved my stay. Highly recommend it!!

The location, the look and feel of the place, and the owner are all great.

The bed. The bed was so hard (for me) I had to leave early. It's a shame as the place overall is great.
