About this house rental
A charming and tranquil Victorian terraced house (built in 1840) in a quiet street situated between Chalk Farm, Belsize Park and Kentish Town tube stations and just a short walk to Hampstead Heath, Primrose Hill and Camden Market.
With 3 spacious bedrooms (Bedroom 1 - Double bed, Bedroom 2 - King bed, Bedroom 3 - Small double bed plus single fold up bed) the house sleeps a maximum of 6 people with one main bathroom with walk-in shower, bath tub & WC and additional cloakroom with WC & sink .
The house has amazing transport links by tube or bus to Soho/Central London and Kings Cross & Victoria stations.
It has a pretty, south facing private garden with table and chairs and an outdoor chimenea/BBQ and inside has all mod cons (washer/dryer, dishwasher, TV with DVD player and Netflix and a wood burner. With a large, light kitchen/living area with two couches it's a great house for families, small groups, couples or business travellers.
HOUSE MANUAL
KEYS
There will be 2 sets of front door keys for guests in the house. If I'm unavailable to greet you I will leave one set of front door keys in the key safe and text you the code before arrival.
There is also a larger set of keys which are for the basement level doors - two gold keys for the two metal gates and two silver keys for the basement front door plus a smaller key for the back/garden door. There will be a duplicate of this garden key left in the garden door itself for easy access.
Please keep both the metal security gates and the garden door locked when you go out out or when you go to bed at night, for your safety.
In the event of losing both sets (unlikely, I hope!) I keep a set with a neighbour.
HOT WATER/HEATING
There is a thermostat which controls central heating/radiators located on the wall in the hallway by the bathroom. The hot water supply in the house is constant so will be on at all times.
PLEASE do not adjust heating or hot water via the kitchen boiler. Please only adjust heating via the thermostat in the upstairs hallway. It is quite simple to operate /change but there are instructions in the box in the hallway.
TV/DVD/NETFLIX
To use any of these, first switch on the power for each appliance on the six-way plug adaptor which is behind the TV.
On this six way adaptor there are separate plug switches for the TV, the Freeview Box, the DVD machine and the little black Amazon Firestick
(for Netflix)
For main TV (which is basic freeview TV with UK channels/Film 4 and limited digital channels) first use the long, black remote control to switch the main TV on, using the red button.
Then use the SOURCE button on the big black remote control to switch to Firestick or HDMI (use the small fire stick remote to change channels.
Also use the long, black remote for the TV's volume or to switch the TV on/off.
DVD
Just switch the DVD player on via the main 'on' button and use remote.
AMAZON FIRESTICK/NETFLIX
Use this small black remote to switch on Netflix/ Amazon/BBC I-Player and other providers and navigate the menu. It also responds to voice commands when searching for films/programmes.
When going out/going to bed please switch off all devices at source
(the plugs on the adaptor) It saves energy and is safer that these flatscreen TVs are not left on standby.
RUBBISH/RECYCLING
Rubbish is collected on the street outside the house, very early on alternative Tuesday mornings. Otherwise the rubbish can stay in the black bin until the following week.
Recycling is collected EVERY Tuesday morning.
Please use the black bin bags (located in drawer next to fridge/freezer) for rubbish and place in black plastic bin outside.
On Monday nights or early Tues morn (before 7am) please put any full rubbish bags in black bin and green recycling box on street outside house for collection (if you can remember, of course!)
OVEN/COOKER
The hob has five gas rings controlled by the five knobs on the front right
The main oven and top oven are electric. The main fan oven is controlled by the far left switch and the smaller top oven and grill is controlled by the second and third knob from the left.
WASHING MACHINE
Switch machine ON. Load machine. Put powder/liquid in drawer or into machine itself.
Choose wash. Shut door and press START - the arrow button.
DISHWASHER
Open dishwasher . Load dishwasher tablet and click the slot shut.
Press ON (top left of dishwasher door) then press 'P' until you get the programme you need. I find P5 is best (quickest) but choose P6 or P7 for really dirty plates!
Then press the '>' symbol and then just close door shut to start the programme.

We had a great stay at Geraldine's home. It was lovely and had everything we needed. Geraldine responded right away to any questions we had. It felt like we were staying at home which was nice after being out in London each day. We would love to stay there again when we return to London.

We had a wonderful time at Geraldine's house: it was perfect home base to explore London with our two young kids. Geraldine was communicative and helpful throughout. Thanks!

Perfect for me, my husband and 2 adult kids. We all had a separate area in the house to retire to at the end of the day. Nice little garden. Kitchen has all you need. Handy markets a block away. #24 bus around the corner that will take you to the major tourist spots. Geraldine was kind enough to meet us and gave us a tour of the house when we arrived. Note: There are stairs to climb up to the entrance of the house and also inside the house. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend.

Really lovely house with 3 spacious bedrooms, well equipped house and beautiful, little garden. We stayed for a month with our family, and loved walking to Camden, Primrose Hill and very convenient for tube to the centre. A really wonderful stay and Geraldine, the host, was very helpful!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Geraldine's house! The layout was spacious and perfect for my husband, myself and our two girls (aged 4 and 9). The fact that two of the bedrooms were on the top floor and the living space was on the bottom of three floors meant that my husband and I could be awake, visit and cook while the girls slept without worrying about disturbing them. And the location was very quiet (also great for sleeping) and provided for nice downtime after exploring London.
The tube was a bit of a walk (12-15 mins) but totally doable. We used the busses at the end of the street a few times and they worked well for a trip up to Hampstead Heath and we also took the bus (an 50 min. ride) all the way to Westminster, passing Camden Market, Trafalgar Square and other notables so our daughters could see London via a double decker.
Geraldinevquickly responded to some questions we had and kindly accommodated an early arrival. The photos accurately depicted the home and we were very pleased with our stay.

This property was great and Geraldine was helpful. We found everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Kitchen is well equipped and having a full bathroom, plus a half bath was great! It is very convenient to the bus route 24 which got us easily to where we needed to go and a short walk to the Underground. I would recommend this place!

We had a wonderful time renting this lovely home! Geraldine was a quick communicator and even allowed us to check in early after our ten hour flight. We had a delay with our luggage, but we were easily able to get the keys. The flat was very clean and comfortable with a cute little garden. It’s about an eight minute walk to Chalk Farm Tube station. Would definitely stay again!

We had an amazing experience staying at Geraldine’s home. She met us there to give us the keys and settle us in, even though we were late! The home is very comfortable and the garden was beautiful. She told us about the bus stop and after that we used the bus almost exclusively. It was nice to see where we were going inside of being underground the whole time. We recommend this property highly!
Thanks Geraldine!

Lovely house, warm, clean, well maintained, secure and comfortable (we stayed over Christmas and new year to be with family who live in Primrose Hill - a 15-20 min walk away). There was everything we needed for preparing and cooking family meals in a family room kitchen/ dining/ sitting room so whoever was cooking was part of the conversation . Beds and bedrooms comfortable. Kitchen and bathroom clean and spacious with plenty of hot water. Very efficient heating. TV with extras (Netflix, Amazon) . A steady walk to tube station, shops and pubs nearby. Parking on weekdays proved a bit of a problem finding somewhere as you can’t park outside without a permit, but weekends and bank holidays you can park outside. House on 3 floors so lots of stairs. Lovely enclosed back garden area (even had a Christmas tree with lights!). Owner very helpful and accommodating. Great place to base yourself for easy access to central London. Really enjoyed our stay.
