Hot water, beds and living room.
Radiators only lukewarm, washbasin taps very tight and dripping in shower room, bedrooms only three feet away from A595 main road, towel rail in bathroom hanging off wall, lack of items in kitchen, milk jug etc, barking dog in adjacent sheds, no apparent rubbish or recycling bins, had difficulty with switching landing light off, outside yard not really suitable for pets.

It was well-located and the house was generally well-equipped. The parking was secure and suitable to the property. We were easily able to keep warm and dry wet clothing; the supply of both a main bathroom and an en-suite was useful, especially with my children also staying.
Having the house laid out upside-down is very sensible, affording good views across the surroundings and minimising potential road noise. (It matters little that the bedrooms are at road level, since the road has very little traffic by night.)
A main issue is the incorrect positioning of all of the taps, the right-hand tap being hot over all sinks and the bath. This is not how they should be installed, according to building regulations and could result in a guest being burned, if automatically expecting cold water when using what is most usually the leading hand.
The only issue was that of an issue with internet and TV provision. Of course, on holiday, one can do without these, but in the case of 1 Park Nook Close, there is a further consequence, since there is no TV aerial provided, so the absence of Internet provision disables TV reception. It also means that many programmes cannot be found when the internet is available, since reception is required for a TV guide to be available! It was also hard for me and the occupant of No. 2 to get this resolved and it was not rectified by the time we left (more than 20 hours after the fault occurred).
Returning to bathroom issues, the miniature sink in the en-suite has a slope, so that soap etc. slip off it, onto the floor.
All these issue really need to be resolved, as this would make this stay extremely good in a property that has very good potential. We couild also have done with a bath mat in the en-suite.

The house was in a beautiful location with scenic views, it was very clean and comfortable. The pub next door was extremely friendly and helpful with beautiful food.

Accommodation as described, ideally located, great views and wonderful surroundings. The house is clean and tidy, it has everything you need for a holiday. I can wholeheartedly recommend this place. I hope to go back there again. My whole family had the same feeling and everyone enjoyed their stay very much. My overall rating 5 out of 5. Thank you so much !!!

The location of the house was brilliant as we had been given a trip on the Ravenglass steam train for Christmas .... so easy to travel too
Easy to obtain entry into the house, loved the upside down design of the house , comfy upstairs ,plenty of kitchen equipment ,nice views of the countryside
The mattress on the bed in the room with the en suite bathroom was awful ..... worse 2 nights sleep I've ever had ..... the shower was cramped, nowhere to put soap ,no shelf , the base of the shower was obviously broken it squelched under foot ,the door to the shower was broken ,the plastic shelves over the sink kept falling down ...... not a nice experience at all
The bannister at the top of the stairs needs surveying it felt unsafe

Lounge/diner nice with lovely views. Kitchen very well equipped. Food in the pub next door but one was good.
Property smelt damp downstairs, not helped by a wet mop being left in the middle room downstairs. En suite bedroom smelt damp and in need of airing and shower room was very dated. Windows inadequate, curtains didn't cut out any light or noise. No coat hangers on garment rail (no wardrobe). Shower screen coming away from wall in bathroom, lino not fitted properly, no shade on bathroom light!!. In need of general maintenance and a good spring clean to remove spider's webs, clean windows etc. Road noise horrendous.

Self catering and extremely well equipped, they had thought of everything we could need.
The outside space was rundown and we couldnt find an outdoor bin

Good location for travelling into the lakes. The Brown Cow next door served lovely food.
Double glazing on the downstairs bedroom windows would be beneficial. Sometimes it was difficult to sleep with the road right outside.

The house was clean and had everything we needed for our short stay.
The kitchen is well equipped and lots of information on stuff to do locally.
We didn't use the washing machine so cant comment.
The lounge area was comfortable and the bedrooms and bathroom were clean.
Big yard to park the car.
Friendly Pub next door also a positive.
Unfortunately the noise from the road really does take away from this property.
Maybe double glazing on the ground floor would be beneficial.

Great location, very friendly staff at the pub, made us most welcome. Food was fantastic! Enclosed for the dogs when gates were closed. Walked around Ennerdale and did paddleboarding and swimming on Wast Water.
No note to say what to do with rubbish/recycling.

was really well equipped - more than we expected so could have packed less !!
being attached to the pub was fab they were very friendly and super helpfull
being beside a very busy road so made it difficult to walk anywhere locally as a family especially with a dog
but the property does have a large yard if you shut the gates you do have a space which is dog friendly

If you want a relaxing holiday away from it all this is the place
Some lovely walks close by and the locals can’t do enough to help you out
Make sure you are well stocked up with food if you arrive at weekend as the village shop is closed from 12 Sat till Monday morning and the next nearest shop is six miles away
The food at the Brown Cow Inn (next door) is to die for
Parts of the property are a little bit tired, but this no way detracted from our stay as they were minor issues

Undeniably handy for the pub next door and doorstep access to the magnificent west side of Cumbria.
1)Road noise immediately next to both bedrooms necessitated ear-plugs to sleep and prevented the rooms being vented
(even had it been possible to operate windows). Secondary glazing and a mechanical vent systems are needed for these rooms.
2)A good clean was needed throughout.
3)A decent handyman is needed to address the many other defective elements.
4) Had to bleach the stinking washing machine before use but we couldn't get its dryer to function.
5) Bush HD TV was not connected for terrestrial media, as the aerial didn't fit.
6) The kitchen fridge was unnecessarily small and like most of the household facilities, it was more of a disappointment than a convenience.
I'm really sorry to be so negative but with some small investment and a little careful thought it could be so much better for guests.

Tea coffee and essentials in cupboard. Nice. Heating good. 2 bathrooms so nice. Although one toilet didnt work. Big spacious cottage. Parking ok. Pub right next door if needed. No noise from pub so good.
So much noise from traffic as right on an A road. It sounded like cars coming through window. Especially as bedrooms on bottom floor of cottage. No double glazing in bedrooms. Area very quiet. But we should have researched that before. if it wasnt for traffic would have be so quiet and restful. Would not return sorry. Toilet didn't work in main bathroom.

Location, parking and facilities were excellent. Highly recommend this place, beautiful scenery around the house beach close by, very clean inside, easy parking and a lot of personal items already provided including board games!!
Nothing it was perfect
