Great location, private pool. 6 min walk to beach, rum shop and restaurants. 15 minutes walk to Oistins Fish Market. If you want to avoid the chaos of the Gap and Bridgetown, I would definately recommend.

We stayed a week at Villa Riana, in the three bedroom downs unit, and had a great stay. The property manager, Katie, was extremely communicative and helpful. Our trip would have been a mess without her advise and assistance. She helped us out of several transportation jams. They were able to provide us a high chair for my 14 month old, hair dryer, and other items we needed. The property was beautiful, with lovely pool, and a short distance from beautiful beaches, Oistins fish market, and the Gap. We’d be happy to stay again.

The villa was very clean and well equiped. The beds were very confortable with lots of pillows. All the necessities were there. Electric gate for security is appreciated , but very quiet area. Will be back for sure. Thanks again to the owner who was always available and very helpful.

Left Villa Riana at the end of January after spending the month of January staying in the two bedroomed unit overlooking the pool. Had a great time. The location is very good, with easy walking to the shops, the small beach and the bus route. Johnathon,the manager,was very helpful on our arrival and Rick, the owner, was also helpful when he arrived. Cleaning and linen changes were done on a regular basis(Thank you,Elsa). We rented a car for a portion of our time and also used the local transport (ZRs). Other guests used Rick's taxi service and he was also helpful in arranging excursions. We enjoyed the fish fry in Oistens several times (recommend Uncle Georges) which is only a few minutes walk past the supermarket. Massey supermarket has a free shopper's shuttle to take you and your groceries home which we used when we did not have a car. Also recommend Surfer's Cafe which is on the opposite side of the main road just before the supermarket, great lattes and reasonable prices. Overall very happy with our choice and would definitely stay there again. Had a great holiday on Barbados.

The villa is exactly as it is in the pictures. It's close to everything on the South coast and far enough that it's quiet at night. I would definitely stay here again!

My wife and I stayed at Villa Maria for the month of February (2014). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found that Villa Maria was a clean, friendly and well-run establishment. While we had booked the cottage for our stay, Rick (the owner) upgraded us for free to the one bedroom unit for the first ten days as it wasn't rented. Rick usually lives on the property but had rented his unit for part of our stay. He was at the Villa more than once a day, so he was easily available (and we had his cell number). When Rick wasn't available, Jonathan (the property manager) and his girlfriend were just a phone call away and addressed issues promptly. Our "big" issue was the lack of a can opener in the cottage - and one was delivered quickly. The Villa is located in a quiet subdivision and as noted by others is close to Oistins and fairly close to St. Lawrence gap, to which we usually walked one way and rode the "ZR" home. We felt completely safe walking the streets day or night and met only one pan handler - who was very polite - during our stay. Do not miss the Friday fish fry & party at Oistins. Chillin' and Grillin' became our favorite restaurant. The one bedroom unit at Villa Maria is spacious, well-equipped and relaxing. It has a front porch which we used often, especially for happy hour. The cottage is smaller with the main seating area being a love seat. There is an outdoor seating area, but it is in the flow of warm air from the Villa's air conditioning. and the view is of the back wall of the villa. This didn't pose a problem as we carried our coffee (mornings) or drinks (happy hour) to the pool where there is plenty of seating and a nice view. The cottage too is well-equipped and we really enjoyed our stay there. All in all, Villa Maria was a great choice as a place to stay and Barbados - especially the people - was a real treat. Thanks to Rick, Jonathan and all the "hired help" for making our stay so enjoyable.

cant say enough about this property,owners are down to earth always ready to help you out if needed.house is well furnished with above standard decor.full satellite,marble and ceramic every where. silent air conditioning in all bedrooms.grounds are spotless and yes there is a pool and an excellent bbq.minutes from beach 4 min from miami local beach which is great.walking distance to market if no car 15 min from the gap nitelife.over allgreat place will be back again for sure see ya soon ric and ty for the great hospitality brian and wendy

We were a party of 6 who stayed at Villa Maria Barbados for 14 days in February, 2013. The villa was home-away-from-home: spacious, clean, secure with all modern conveniences. The owners, Rick and Angie were more than accommodating to our needs. From the beginning Angie was prompt in answering our inquires. Villa Maria was the ideal location for us, very quiet neighbourhood, just a short walk to transportation and locations such as Oistins for groceries and the fish-fry, St Lawrence Gap and one bus into Bridgetown. Every member of our group felt relaxed and at home, we would wholeheartedly recommend this villa. Pauline C.
