Very pleasant stay. We had a work crew for the state fair and this home was very accommodating. The house has and interesting setup. The kitchen is very well equipped. Fun game/gathering area. Beautiful flower gardens outside. Nice walking distance to Valley Junction Main St area. Lots of room and lots of sleeping space. Host was very helpful.

The property and location worked perfectly for us and provided a fun place for our family to gather at. The different rooms to hang out in was a huge plus for being able to do different activities together and separately.
The communication with Jana was fabulous!

Although I was busy my family really got to enjoy the property. The kids loved the theater area and learned to play chess. My husband enjoy to poker room and bar. All in all, the home was a great fit for our large family and the historical artifacts were nice to look at.

The house lends itself really well to a group needing flexible space! I brought a group of High School Speech and Debate competitors to town for their National Competition and there were eight of us total. With minimal moving things about, we all had our own beds and plenty of room. Game room off the kitchen was great for us!

This house has 4 bedrooms, two on the main floor. Extra showers and toilet in the basement for extra guests. Fantastic game room as well. The eat in kitchen was perfect for our parents to be a part of the food making process! Thank you for your quick response when we had trouble with the door!

This property was a perfect place for my family to stay and friends too! All the history that is shown in that home was breathtaking! All the rooms were clean and ready for us! A great game room and bedrooms that were unique in their own ways!

This place was great for our family to stay while we attended our sons wedding. The hostesses were very accomodating and available for our group.

This home is very old. It is full of antiques and smells as such. We did have nice enough weather that we were able to open windows to air it out. There were enough beds for the 10 of us. The upstairs shower leaked through the ceiling into the bedroom below. When I contacted the host, they said there should have been a note on how to avoid that? Bathrooms had mold on the curtain and ceiling. Location was great and parking was awesome. Not a bad home, but wouldn’t choose it again.

We scheduled the house to meet from multiple states to spend time with family. The house was fine spacious for all of us.

The house was nice. We enjoyed the artwork and old musical instrument display. Owner addressed a couple issues right away and we were set. Some empty cupboards for our food and supplies would have been nice but we managed. We like to cook and stay in to eat so there was plenty of pots, pans, and other dishes. The traffic noise was a bit much but we got used to it. Thank you!

We enjoyed our stay in Des Moines. It was nice having a big kitchen and being able to do laundry. We also enjoyed the game room. The property manager is nice and helpful. The location is good; a short drive to downtown, parks and Drake University. The only negative for me is the house is located on a busy four lane street. You can hear the vehicles passing by when you are inside the house, which is not a big deal during the day, but at night makes it difficult to go to sleep. Another option for us would have been staying at a hotel, which would have most likely been noisy too, so the house is better than a hotel. Sleep tip: if sleeping in the master bedroom, keep the bathroom door closed to help with the street noise.

All in all it worked well for our family. However it shouldn’t be advertised as sleeping 20. You may want to reconsider that.

Our family had a very nice, relaxing time at Walnut Place. Enjoyed the game room and patio. We'd be excited to come back and stay again. Easy communication with the owners.

The location is great, close to all kinds of fun stuff for the kids. Splash pad and Racoon river park right down the road.

Great house for a large group with all the essentials, game room, tv room, nice living room, comfortable beds we’ll be back, Renea went above and beyond to make sure we could watch the Wild game!

Owners came through with honors vis a vie the TV! We're old guys that came to see games live at the arena and watch tons of games on TV. Owner came at night with two technicians to resolve difficulties getting game broadcasts. NEVER HAD A RESPONSE AS GOOD from owners of other VRBO stays.

This property is a great place for a group. The hosts are incredibly nice and allowed us to go in a few days later to grab some items we left. Their decor is also very fun and there's lots of spaces to play games.

We had a blast in Des Moines and enjoyed the property. We were mostly out on the golf courses but poker night was fantastic in the gaming room! The short walk to the Irish pub was fun, too.

Had 14 together for Thanksgiving dinner and games. This house was the perfect fit for us ages 1 to 61. The owners so sweet and accommodating. We will rent again.

We had group of 7 moms in town for shopping. We all enjoyed ourselves. Tons of room for entertaining! Only thing maybe would be more seating at the kitchen table, if possible. It was a great time!

4 of us came for a girls weekend. The house is charming with plenty of comfortable beds. Really enjoyed meeting Renee. Good location for shopping and dining. The spa treatments for hands feet and face were a fun bonus while we hung out in the theater room. We would definitely stay here again.

Our group of 7 senior ladies spent 3 days here. It is in an excellent location close to interstate access, getting around Des Moines was so very easy. The property was very clean and the one small problem we had, to owner was right there immediately. This is our 2nd time using VRBO and very pleased other years we used different service, not so great mice, bees (inside) I cannot say enough good things for this property.

Our family from out of town has stayed at Walnut Place for two weddings. The family room off the kitchen is our hang out spot. Enough beds and bathrooms for all of us. Plenty of parking and the grounds are gorgeous.

Older home with character. Worked well for our families. It was very hot weather but the house was cool and comfortable. The hide a bed was not comfortable. The other beds were good. Plenty of towels supplied for showers.
Grandchildren suggested it was a good home to play the game clue at, It had the right feel.

We very much enjoyed our 3 day stay. It was a great location as it was central for family coming from several locations. It's proximity to the zoo, science center, and a public pool for day trips was especially nice. Owner was very responsive to contact!
