Nine family members stayed here and had a wonderful time. Everything we needed was there from a fully stocked kitchen, pantry, lots of supplies, toys and games, plenty of towels, blankets, etc. We enjoyed feeding the trout, eating pancakes from batter provided, and visiting the area. Cell phone connection was iffy but the remoteness was so nice. Great communication from owners and good instructions.

Pictures don't do this place justice. If you are looking for a private, relaxing, beyond beautiful and peaceful place to gather, this is the place. My 91 year young mother, my siblings, spouses and a 13 year old niece had a lovely time exploring the property, hiking, feeding the fish, gathering in the kitchen to prepare meals which we enjoyed around the large dining table, relaxing in the great room to read or visit and we gathered around the fire pit every night. We enjoyed a fire in the great room as well. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, bakeware, pots and pans. The owners are more than generous with pantry supplies. There was an abundance of Bath towels, washcloths, kitchen towels and dishrags for both bathroom and kitchen. Everybody had their own private space in the bedrooms. The home is charming, roomy and clean. The owners, Susan and Mike are delightful to deal with. They were there to give us a tour when we arrived and were very responsive from the time I made the reservation till we left. We explored the beautiful area around Coeur d Alene, but our favorite place to be was on this property. If I come back to this area again with a group, I will rent this home.

The owners of this property could not have been nicer or more accommodating. They even leave a stocked pantry. The outside is the best we had many great adventures feeding fish, walking and have bond fires.

Elk mountain ranch is our favorite vacation rental. So many things to do for all ages. Lots of hiking, feeding the pet trout, puzzles for all ages, games, videos and a fire pit to gather in the afternoon or evening. The kitchen is stocked with anything needed and more. We will be back!

We had a wonderful time! The property is amazing! It was fun to feed the trout, we did lots of hiking, and we were lucky the weather was beautiful. We also enjoyed having a bonfire each night. And everything was explained very well to us by the owners with great communication. If we are in need of another VRBO in that area, we will definitely stay again.

We were all looking forward to seeing the property based on the description, but were amazed to find it so much more spectacular than we imagined.

Our group of 16 had the best time camping out under the stars! If you LOVE the outdoors, and nature, we highly recommend this secluded private retreat space. The pine covered mountains took our breath away. The hosts were unbelievable with how wonderful, accommodating and kind they were. The house is so quirky and fun, and you will have a great time looking at all the history and art all over the ways and cabinets. The house is SUPER well stocked. think dooms day prepared. They have a giant pantry with extra lights and flour and really this house held our group very very well. We set up across the bridge for camping under the stars and daily meditation and Yoga. Bathrooms were clean and lots of hot water kept us fresh. Lots of extra blankets and towels and extra jackets to cozy up to when it was chilly at night. We are looking forward to making this an annual thing with the group, the property is really super spectacular! easy drive from Spokane. Thank you again for the space!

Loved the property! We absolutely all adored the uniqueness of the house!! We all spent about 30 minutes just exploring that alone!! We enjoyed the gun range!
The trout were amazing! The size of some of them was astounding!!
We saw a few deer and plenty of chipmunks!
Although we were a group of adults, seeing everything in the house for kids to play with was wonderful!! They was plenty for all us adults to enjoy also!!
Thank you so much!!
This by far has been the most enjoyable of all of the VRBO places we have stayed.
We will definitely be back again!!!

You wont be sorry you booked this stay. Elk Mountain Ranch offers so many fantastic recreational opportunities and great amenities. My family went up for a weekend getaway to bike the Hiawatha and see the sites around Coeur d’alene. Located just outside of town, the house offered privacy in mountains and a quick and beautiful trip into town. The Ranch its self has something for everyone, there are trails, tee pee’s, water, firepit, play rooms and so much more! I don't want to spoil all the pleasant surprises that await you if you book. This place was fantastic and we will most certainly be back. Appreciate the hospitality Mike and Susan.

Elk Mountain Ranch is a beautiful, rustic property that everyone in our group enjoyed. We hiked the equine trail behind the house each morning, made several meals in the well-stocked kitchen and played yard games and sat around the fire at night. The owners are friendly and communicative.
A couple of things to be aware of: the wifi is spotty so if you need to work at all (which a couple of us did) it's unlikely you'd be able to do so here. Also, it was hot during our stay so we weren't able to use the bedroom in the crows nest (way up high) as it didn't cool down until way past bedtime.
Overall, it's a gorgeous property that I'd recommend for a family or group of friends looking to get away from it all.

Susan and Mike were the most wonderful gracious communicative hosts! It was SUCH a cool property and a totally unique experience, especially since most of our group had never visited the PNW! Having coffee out by the firepit with the sunrise was one of my favorite parts. Everything we needed was there, it’s close enough to downtown Coeur D’Alene yet far enough out that you really are in nature, and now having planned this bachelorette trip for my friend, I want to go back with my own family and some other family friends! Highly highly recommend!

Elk mountain ranch was one of the best places we had stayed. Owner Mike and Susan met us and gave us a tour of the home and property! It was truly beautiful and peaceful. Our grandkids ages 6 months, 2 and 11 love playing in the creek, playing dress up, and eating s’mores. We were grieving the lost of our wife, mother and daughter in law and it provided the needed healing! Mike and Susan went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed! Can’t wait to go back.

Had a great time snowshoeing, hiking and sledding. Family time.

Great place for people who all work forty plus hours a week to get away to peace and quiet. We enjoyed feeding the trout. Property is laid out so you can be as together or apart as you want to be. Close enough to town so you can drive to pick up anything you forgot, but you won't need to do that, this place has everything. We had an awesome time and we will be back.

Plenty of pace to walk around and adventure. Spent most of our time round the campfire or visiting in the great hall. Such a cool place! Neat house, cool property, great atmosphere!!

Elk Mountain Ranch was the perfect place for our family get-together. Plenty of room inside and outside to connect and enjoy. I have never seen a house this large be this clean, it was amazing! The weather had just turned cooler and the furnace warmed up the house so fast, even my 92 year old mom was warm. Not to mention the fire in the fireplace kept everything cozy and welcoming. We would definitely return. Mike and Susan are exceptional hosts, they go above and beyond to make their guests feel welcome, thank you!!

The house itself was so much fun to walk through and explore! It just kept on going! So much history within the house too and the rooms were great, a couple huge showers. The owners also have so much for kids to do, a play room with plenty of toys, a closet full of awesome dress up costumes and the ponds were a great hit! We just finished visiting at the end of September, so one creak was dried up from over summer, but it didn't take away from any bit of the experience! Fire pit was perfect for a gathering outside! We didn't use much of the back side of the property, but it also would have been beautiful and peaceful or good for outside eating.
We loved our experience!
