We had a wonderful time at Sweet’s retreat for our family spring break vacation. Mike was a pleasure to work with and the house was great. We really enjoyed the location of the house and Palmetto Dunes.

Great place and wonderful host. Backyard is truly an oasis. Set up perfectly for families. They thought of just about all the details. Mike was very accessible the several times we reached out to him. We would certainly book again.

The house is as nice as advertised. Clean and inviting, like new inside. Nice beds and furniture. Great spot on the island. Easy walk to the beach and walkable to grocery and shopping by bike path. Nice selection of beach gear (chairs etc) available for use. Our group especially enjoyed the video game table on the sun porch and spikeball (game carried from the house along with chairs by pull able beach wagon) on the dog friendly beach. Would stay again, highly recommend.

Wonderful home, right on the lagoon with a lovely pool area. Has everything you need and plenty of space…plus Palmetto Dunes offers great amenities and is an ideal central location to access the rest of the Island. Mike’s place is a can’t miss - and he’s awesome and super easy to deal with! Book and enjoy. :)

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sweet's retreat! The home is beautiful and is exactly as described in the listing. The neighborhood in Palmetto Dunes is stunning. We loved the yard backing up to the lagoon and saw lots of wildlife. Mike was great to communicate with from the time I booked the property until we arrived. He even checked in to make sure we were doing ok and to see if we needed anything. We would highly recommend this property and plan to come back as soon as we can. Thank you Mike for a wonderful memorable trip for us and our son.

Everything about our stay was amazing! The house was immaculate and Palmetto Dunes was gorgeous. There were 6 of us total (2 children and 4 adults) and we were very comfortable, we all had plenty of space. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and the outdoor kitchen was an added bonus! The pool was very nice and was heated perfectly for some chilly October evenings. There is a back dock overlooking the lagoon and we all enjoyed watching the turtles and my husband was happy to fish off of it a few times. There is a private beach access withing walking distance and there were beach wagon/chairs/umbrella available for us to use. The property owner was great, we had a few questions during our stay and he responded quickly. Highly recommend this beautiful property!

We had the best time staying at the Sweets' Retreat. The "3 season" porch was a fantastic bonus room that we used every day for meals, playtime, and relaxing. We swam in the heated pool every afternoon and most evenings. The beach was an easy 15 minute walk or 5 minute bike ride away. This was our first time staying in Palmetto Dunes and we definitely plan to come back. Far and away, however, Mike was a generous host with excellent communication prior to and during our stay.

We loved our stay in this home! We loved swimming in the pool, watching the birds, deer, and alligators. The home was very clean and well maintained. We had great communication with the owner. We highly recommend!

We loved our stay in Hilton Head. This property was exactly as pictured, very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed watching the birds, turtles and alligators in the pond. It was very quiet, peaceful and relaxing and the house was a home away from home.

Very clean and well maintained!! Owners very easy to communicate with. Several areas inside and out to accommodate our family. Close to beach, shopping and restaurants, but not overcrowded. Definitely would go again.

Our family of 6 (3 generations) had an amazing stay at this property! The location was amazing just a short walk/bike ride to the beach, restaurants, general store and other amenities! We LOVED riding bikes around the community and especially on the beach! Thanks to Mike for the Bike Doctor recommendation (delivery and pkup of bikes couldn’t have been easier). The interior of house itself as well as the amenities was perfect for our family as was the spectacular outdoor living space. With the bar, pool area overlooking the lagoon, we were often content to just hang there and enjoyed a lot of QFT just floating in the pool and enjoying the view (including the 2 harmless alligators we affectionately named). Mike was a great host and attentive to our needs! Some outdoor lighting around the pool and outdoor living space would be a nice addition (for both safety and enjoyment) but all in all, we highly recommend this property and wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again!! Book with confidence … you won’t be disappointed!

This is one of our all time favorite places to stay. Mike, the owner, is extremely attentive and helpful. The home was stunning and beautifully appointed. From the excellent renters closet of beach gear to The Sweets recommended dining spots made for the perfect trip. We will be back.

We absolutely loved this house. We hosted thanksgiving with extended family and couldn’t have pictured a better day. We played cornhole (provided by the house) in the backyard, had football on inside, had a fire at night by the fire pit, and had music playing with Alexa outside. Fully equipped for a great time. Nestled in the back of Palmetto Dunes but not a bad walk to the beach access and Cocos down the beach! Can’t wait to stay here again. Owners are great people and so accommodating. Definitely recommend!!!

We enjoyed staying at Mike's home very much. It was well stocked, comfortable, and spacious. We have two going children, so we especially appreciated the "one level living". Mike was extremely communicative throughout our stay, and we really loved seeing all the wildlife from the backyard.

It is rare these days that our whole family gets the chance to be together and even rarer still that its for an extended vacation. We hadn’t been to the beach as a group in several years so we were beyond excited to finally spend some quality time together on the beautiful island of Hilton Head. To add to the excitement was the fact that we had booked a gorgeous house complete with swimming pool, outdoor patio area, incredible kitchen, and stunning views of the lagoon located right in the backyard. The private community that the house is located in, Palmetto Dunes, had easy access to the beach (a ten minute walk past gorgeous southern homes, golf courses and canals) and ample bike trails leading into town that the kids and my husband greatly enjoyed. This was our first vacation with our grandchild and being in a house with all the amenities took of the stress out of planning for us. Mike was an excellent host and was exceptional when it came to communication. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay on HH that doesn’t feel like every other generic rental house, look no further than the Sweet’s Retreat!

You know it’s a hit when the twenty-somethings are ready to rebook for the following summer ! Quiet, clean and a perfect backyard setting. Best set of kitchen supplies we’ve ever had in a rental! Equipped with anything you need throughout the entire house- towels, tvs, laundry room, games- all make this a complete package. Loved the pool and beach supplies. Great information and contact from the owners. Just bring your family.

I spent a week with my family at the Sweet’s home and it was even more than we could have asked for. The location is perfect with just a short 12ish minute walk to the beach. The pool and yard are fantastic, we fell in love with the view. Especially from the four seasons room! What the photos don’t show are the kitchenette and second full size fridge/freezer in the four seasons room. For a large group, there is ample fridge space for all your needs. The grill is well maintained and there are extra propane tanks as needed. The beach gear and supplies available to renters are in great shape, which is not always the case at a rental property. We didn’t have the best weather, but had no complaints hanging out in the four seasons room playing games and doing puzzles. We saw lots of turtles, birds and alligators in the pond. The beds and couches were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with the essentials. I highly recommend staying here and hope to be back with my family or friends soon!

The whole experience at The Sweet's Retreat was everything we hoped for our family vacation. The home was very clean and neat. So many amenities were included like beach chairs, towels, pool floats, noodles and more. Would highly recommend this property for your next vacation.

This property is an incredible family vacation home -- I say home and not rental because it really did feel like home for the week that we were here! We have been renting beach houses for 12 years and this was by far the best experience we have had all around -- with the property itself, with the owner (Mike is the absolute best - so friendly and caring), and with the neighborhood/area. We loved how clean and organized the house was, and all the thoughtful little details in and around the house really made the difference for us - every time we turned a corner we thought, "oh wow, they thought of that!" The setting out back with the private pool and grill was absolutely lovely, and we are already wishing we could go back. Wonderful family memories were made here.

We thought the home was updated very nicely. It was really great that all beach accessories were provided. The digital code worked out very well and the property owner checked in with us several times during the week.

This house!!!! We can't say enough! It's so clean and cozy! The kitchen is fully stocked! Beds Comfy! And the Pool area was so relaxing! Our girls LOVED the outdoor shower and used it nightly! The shed that comes FULLY stocked with games, pool floats, wagons, umbrellas, chairs...and again a fan favorite...the oversized BEACH MAT! WE didn't need to worry about a thing. Ya'll thought of everything and made our trip the best! The sun room/game room was also a huge hit! The walk to the beach was 12 minutes on the dot! And was a beautiful easy walk - we loved Palmetto Dunes, and have stayed in here several times but this house was our FAVE! WE can't wait to come back!!!

Only rent this home if you want a beautiful house in a great neighborhood that is fully stocked for your beach adventure. The house is spotless, well organized, fully maintained. The couch/unbrella around the pool is sooo comfortable and the private outdoor shower was a hit for everyone. The wildlife around the lagoon was a wonder to watch.

The house was exactly as described, so comfortable and all the kitchen amenities you could need. The extra refrigerator in the sunroom was a great bonus for beverages. What exceeded all our expectations was the back yard. It was so beautiful and comfortable. We loved using the pool and sitting outside watching the birds, turtles, deer and a few gators. We highly recommend this property the Sweets were great to work with and everything was perfect.

We completely enjoyed our stay at this Hilton Head Island property and would stay there time and time again. Our family was impressed with the accommodations and peacefulness of the neighborhood. We spent hours and hours in the back yard - swimming, fishing and taking in the beauty. An easy and beautiful 10 minute walk to the beach was added bonus, which we enjoyed versus the more congested public beach accesses. Mike was very assertive and made us feel at home. Our family looks forward to visiting this "heaven on Earth" accommodations again!

We enjoyed staying here in April. We paid to heat the pool and swam every day. The house was comfortable (beds, sheets, shower water pressure, couches). We loved the view out back / the animal watching was especially amazing. Kitchen had the items we needed to cook all meals and we used the grill out back too. We would stay here again and we very rarely feel that way about any rental. Mike was especially helpful during a storm with our car. He was quick to respond / available. Highly recommend! We biked to the beach and it’s quick - street was quiet.

We have been booking homes via VRBO for almost 20 years and this was our favorite rental EVER!! Mike's house is beautiful and has all the amenities you could ever need or want. We loved the pool and swam every day. It is a short walk to the ocean and we loved not having to pack beach items since towels, chairs and beach toys were all provided. The beds were all super comfortable and the bathrooms were spacious and clean. Mike was great to work with and was always available for questions. We would absolutely stay here again and would recommend this rental to anyone who wants a relaxing vacation in Hilton Head.

Mike was a great host. Very communicative. The property is wonderful and has all of the amenities you need to stay. The private pool was fabulous. We did pay extra to have it heated as weather was only in the high 60's low70's. Great place to stay in Hilton Head.
