In the middle of winter, there was no hot water. The host assured us that hot water will run after 5 seconds of opening the tap. We were there overnight, with children but did not get any hot water. One electric blanket didn't work. The gas heater had no gas. The doors had no locks. The host was very arrogant and asked us to leave if we're not happy. He then offered to turn on the electric geyser if we stayed on. This should've been done prior to our arrival. Very unhappy, will not recommend. The host said he will refund us for one night but that hasn't happened yet.

We arrived in very rainy weather, and our host, Oom Fanie was standing outside with an umbrella ready to greet us. He had upgraded our room from a standard double room, to an apartment. This apartment is beautifully appointed and is equipped with the latest modern appliances. It had just started loadshedding when we arrived, and Oom Fanie immediately put the generator on for us for two hours, so that we had light and could use the power outlets. His hosting and attention to our every need, went way above the call of duty. We loved every minute of our stay at this beautiful facility and really hope that more people will support this establishment. A true gem in Harrismith. Only 1 bathroom & bedroom is a waste of the space though, as it’s absolutely huge It could accommodate more people with another bathroom It was a bit hard to find & far from dining options, so just be aware
