Warm and comfortable stay- just missing the finishing touches.

Great size room and easy private entrance on the corridor without going through the pub.

No remote for tv in the largest room so couldn’t watch tv. No plates in the room either despite having a full kitchen.

An absolute gem of a find, we will visit again

We were very impressed with the venue when we arrived on a dark and rainy Friday evening. We were stopping there as it was the closest accomodation to a wedding we were attending on the following day. We were quickly checked in and shown to our lovely room, which was very clean and comfortable. Later we had dinner in the restaurant, which was amazing. The burger was to die for, the best I have ever tasted. My wife had the king prawn and crab linguini. The atmosphere is cosy and the staff are excellent - we were made to feel at home from the moment we arrived. The next morning, after a comfortable evening in our room, we had the full englist breakfast - cooked perfectly and we enjoyed it by the log burner. Again, the staff were wonderful.

Lion Bar & Grill-Tastic Stay in Sowerby Bridge : O )

Wow The Lion Pub & Grill is awesome! From check in by Elizabeth the manager and being taken to my room and everything was explained and even got a superb Breakfast Hamper! The fire was lit so me and a couple of the other guests could be comfortable whilst we ate our amazing dinners from the talented chef at the grill.....food envy for every dish! Great service from the bar too! Rooms fantastically comfortable and wifi super fast!!! I'm coming back for sure! Thank You everyone there!

Issues which could be sorted easily.

Location. Housekeeper Christine very helpful. Cleanliness

Breakfast was in a hamper left outside door (which they forgot to leave in one night). Fresh products would have been better. Plumbing issue wasn't sorted. To get out of the premises in the morning, had to go down fire escape and move rubbish bins. No staff in duty in morning apart from housekeeper who was great.

A scenic location.

Comfy bed, spacious room, reasonable pricing.

Radiators both in the room and bathroom were turned off! -2 degrees celcius during the night... Despite contacting the staff no action was taken. There was an old electric rad left in the room so didn't freeze to death, but the shower in the morning was a bit of a challenge.

stay elsewhere, not worth the money

Room cold, but thermostat in another room, or so the reply I received said when I emailed the next morning to say we left at 7am as that bad. loud banging from other guests at around 7pm plus a humming all night in room, mirrors positioned badly and not useable, no bed side lights, just main light, TV did not work, sink hanging of the wall. Breakfast not served until 10am and we left early to get warm so no breakfast for us. Not worth the money

Excellent hospitality in a very underated location. Highly recommended for an overnight stay

Very comfortable room and dinner was exceptional. Staff very personable too. Overall very good value for an overnight stay. Ripponden and its immediate surrounding area is well worth exploring (especially the pubs!) . It won't be on the radar of many I suspect, but to my mind an outstanding part of the county, if not the country.

The location was sold as Sowerby Bridge and its not. It's Ripponden. This property is overpriced.

The breakfast time of 10am was quite late and took 40 minutes for the cooked breakfast to be served, probably down to the fact the chef ran in at 10.15!

Beautiful and clean.

Unfortunately we were in one of the front rooms which is next to a very busy road/junction which, when the weather is warm and you need the windows open, means it’s quite loud.

Location, friendly staff on arrival, nice room and en suite bathroom

Breakfast was provided in a basket outside the door, a nice idea but not particularly appetising contents. No staff around on departure.

location was fantastic for meetings friends.

was located in front roms ,so had very little sleep with the traffic noise...I thought it was over priced as it on par with hotels in city centre Manchester.

The rooms are gorgeous and comfortable.

We was at a wedding and asked if we could check in a hour before and was told no problem. No one arrived to check us in so I ended up in the disabled toliets at the wedding venue getting ready and we had to leave before the meal to take the cars back to check in.

Enjoyable break

Pub was lovely, staff very nice and helpful. Lovely bedroom, very clean. Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and loved the breakfast hamper on the say we left.

Lovely little place

The room was absolutely beautiful, very clean and nicely decorated. It was nice and quiet in the room which was a lovely surprise because sometimes in accommodation that's above a pub you can hear a lot of the noises from downstairs in the bar but we couldn't hear anything which was lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful and when checked in we felt very relaxed and comfortable. We both said we would definitely book and stay again we liked it that much.

The room was a little cold temperature wise.
