There were spiders and mosquitoes everywhere!!!! we understood there was higher than average mosquitoes due to the amount of snow, but spiders in beds and on the toilet and shower!! A person in our part got a spider bite from laying in the bed!

Historical place providing an authentic opportunity to stay at a lodge which was used by gold miners a century ago. So a very different experience than the regular places. The owner and team are super friendly. Food is great. Bar is a meeting point for locals with a great vibe of community and family

Historic room was nice. Bathroom was new. Everything seemed clean.

There were no instructions on heat. There was a small heater that we plugged in. It seemed to warm the room somewhat. There was no lock on the door. It was a remote location so apparently locks are not always used. But I had expensive camera equipment so we didn't unload anything until we came back to actually sleep. The inside lock did not work either so somewhat uncomfortable through the night. Breakfast was OK after we figured it was self serve.

Really nice setting and old lodge feel. Cabin was decorated nicely and had good hot water supply in shower. Has potential to be an amazing place. Great setting along the river.

Heater in cabin had exhaust issue. When heater was on it smelled strongly of heating fuel exhaust in the room, so we could not keep the heater on and we were cold overnight . I reported this issue and it seemed to be known.. Also, although the information on booking.com indicates it has a restaurant and tavern, neither we're open in the evening. The restaurant was used for continental breakfast but had a strong smell of propane throughout, indicating a gas leak.

The cabin was small but cozy. It is an older property but that is what we liked about it. Restaurant on site with good food. Very friendly, personable, helpful staff.

The river view from my cabin was not what I had in mind.

The staff was amazing and helpful! The history of the place is awesome and really enjoyed my stay. The homemade scones were really yummy and coffee was a must!

I had a couple spiders in my room which is to be expected for a rural area. Didn't bother me but might bother some one who didn't like critters.

We loved the extremely helpful and friendly staff, the rustic house and artifacts, the serene location near the river, the meals, and the convenience of everything. We felt very welcomed and were sad to leave!

Old log lodge and cabins, not "renovated rustic chic", just no nonsense old log structures- functional not fancy. Clean and comfortable (stayed in cabin so can't comment on lodge that has some shared bathrooms). Staff, was pleasant esp bartender Chris. Limited bar type food but better than expected (smash burger on ciabotta roll was tasty), + local brews on tap. Not a bad place for a quick stop over

No real negatives, just realize that this is not a fancy place but a basic stay. Repairs have been done as needed but don't expect "renovated rustic" Continental breakfast was OK but again, nothing fancy

Good location, nice staff, fun bar and grill.

Needs a refresh; the rooms were clean but dated. The only food was at the bar, the restaurant was closed.
