1) The proximity of the location. 2) The event we attended.

1) we weren't notified about the late night "night club" pumping music nightly till 1 am. Whilst we were asked which type of room we preferred ;ocean view' etc, there was nothing to indicate the additional noise. 2) Although the location within Surfers was perfect, it was let down by the noise and lateness. 3) Staff don't seem 'prepared' or 'aware' of customers diversities. Upon check-in, we were confused about parking arrangements and staff member had no communication skills. Upon checking out, we attempted to provide feedback and the staff member discoursed as they took it personally. 4) The fire alarm went off during the night and there was very little guidance or instructions. Guests were coming out of their rooms confused. Some went down others were in the hall ways. The speaker system spoke once after the alarm had been going for a long time and was not clear. message was repeated quite late into the alarm sounding. 5) Breakfast was ordinary and lacked variety and enticement. The breakfast experience seemed 'monotonous' No staff interaction, familiarity, awareness etc. 5) Whilst not everything was 'bad' there was also very little 'WOW'. We usually don't focus on the negative preferring to focus on the positives. There was little positive. Whilst we were left to our own devises, it was as though 'good luck'! and 'enjoy your stay'! The approach was "you have a room, now don't bother us because we don't want to know". Type of experience.

Location was excellent. Within walking distance of Cavill Avenue and beaches

Club next door that plays very loud music until 1am or later on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights and then Sundays until 6pm. It was very loud and we couldn’t sleep. Staff offered us ear plugs on check in but that didn’t help at all.

Great location, just around the corner from the beach, market, shops, public transport and entertainment. We found beds comfortable and room was spacious enough to lay out all luggages.

Facilities were dated, bathroom didn’t have sufficient ventilation, had rusty and cracked surfaces. Would be nice to have two chairs for two people not just one. Bed was dirty under the sheets. Unfortunately our nights were disturbed by very distressing sounds from nearby room, tried to call staff several times and they never picked up phone. We were too scared to leave the room.

It’s very run down. The rooms have poor finishing.

Noisy. Was on the 13th floor and with the night club next door all we heard was loud music til after midnight.

Breakfast was amazing, beds were really comfy 🙂

The view from the room was stunning, the room size was perfect, and the location was very convenient from the shops, transport and restaurants

The hotel doesn't have a swimming pool. I understand, but the spa water was freezing and doesn't work very well. The construction equipment just next to the spa, in my opinion, is not really safe for young children. The buffet breakfast wasn't really various items, and unfortunately, the plate and bowl were not really clean .

The mattress was terrible and needs replacement. The vent in the bathroom was extremely load. It sounded like a motor was operating behind the wall. The noise kept me awake and this was the same case in my colleague's room as well.

The Hotel is located at a great location. It has a beautiful view from balcony. Shops were nearby.

Made us pay for parking, whereas everywhere else it’s free. Really bad service, staff got mad at us for asking some questions, really poor. Will never stay at this place ever again. Asked for some extra towels, had to go down to reception to pick them up. I don’t know why do you pay so much for you to walk down and collect it by yourself. If anywhere else is available please pick that.

the staff were very friendly our view was nice

there was a giant stain on our floor which we reported, blood drops on the carpet near the bathroom, our room was right infront of cali beach night club, the parking facility was very tricky to manoeuvre and the facility has no pool only hot tubs , the gym was also very out dated. for the price we paid we could have had a lot more at other mantras.

Room itself was fine, no fridge in the room so you can't buy food and take it home. Location is a good walking distance to restaurants and pac.

I have been trying for a month to have someone email me a tax invoice and they keep saying they will and not doing it. I can't get through to their calls as the system just rings out. They also don't return the bond, the room was not damaged I asked if this was the reason and they said no the room was left fine. They just haven't returned the money. $200 stolen from me. I was a long time loyal client of the Mantra and I will never stay with them again due to this. I have given them a month to send an invoice and return my bond before leaving this review and they haven't helped or contacted me once.

The bed's were very comfortable. Plenty of room. Balcony area was nice, good view.

Shower was not working however the bath was good.

The staff were amazing. Really friendly and helpful on multiple occasions.

The room was quite worn with stans, chipped paint and worn out places
