Every single thing in this resort is amazing. It was such a pleasant experience. If only the private beach wasn't rocky and swimmable, it would have been perfect. We felt very welcomed to Amatara from the start of our stay. The staff made sure to make every aspect of our stay special and went above what you would normally expect. the resort is beautiful and location is perfect for relaxation.

Quiet, lots of greenery

Lacklustre food offerings: breakfast is mediocre, the restaurants are ok but not great, private dining and floating breakfast are really overpriced for what it is. We had a (very expensive) ocean view pool villa, but the view was half blocked. Build quality could be better, finishing should be more luxurious for the price. Staff is ok but not amazing. They cancelled our booking several times, which was quite stressful We stayed at four hotels during our honeymoon, this was the worst for me out of the four.

Bed is not comfortable..

One of our favorite places for a relaxing holiday during European winter. We stayed at Amatara for the third time in the past few years and will be happy to come again. The staff is extremely nice, friendly and welcoming, food is delicious (there are 3 restaurants at the hotel, and you can find several local restaurants close by), fantastic spa. I particularly enjoyed doing yoga at one of the decks with an amazing view on the ocean. I practiced yoga by myself to see the sunrise but the hotel also offers a variety of yoga and fitness courses (comes at extra charge though). You can go for a walk to the cape panwa close by and see the sunset and grab something to eat. We loved it truly, thanks to the whole amatara team!

Nothing that affected us really, and if we had any requests the staff was always extremely helpful

the facility, the staff, the attention to details when making the room, the fine dining restaurant and the absolutely amazing services at the Spa, I received the best massages there. the whole facility has relaxing spaces and the morning buffet is incredible good!

the resort is in the east side of the island and is very close to the port, hence is not the best side of the island for beaches. But once you are in the resort you won’t feel like going to the beach! also the resort is surrounded by nothing which is perfect for relaxing but at the same time you won’t find anything close. The thai restaurant gives you a very different experience from the fine dining.

staff service was excellent, we had a little injury prior to trip, staff offered to pick us up and buggy us around the resort. Room was lovely and private and a great view from your room. Facilities were abundant: gym, sky bar, restaurants were wonderful. We were surprised by the quality of food at Scene restaurant. the Sky Bar felt like a quiet retreat too.

Look out for promos to get a good price 🤪 FYI- water activities are available but you have to regularly check whether the tide allows for it, we did not manage to find a time to do them.

the room is great with a pool villa and jacuzzi. The hotel swimming pool is fantastic, with an infinity pool view facing the ocean. There is also a small private beach for relaxing . we also highly recommend the spa treatment .

It would have been really helpful to have more information in the rooms about local attractions and services The hotel restaurants were largely deserted in the evenings and lacked atmosphere- although breakfast was delicious!

The hotel sits on a nice view of the ocean, its nice to enjoy a private pool while surrounded by nice views and greenery with comes with disadvantage of more mosquitoes.

Air conditioning was very week in the ocean view villas, and some of villas dont have a great view as others but staff made their best to change us for best available.
