This property was disappointing. please note ‘lobby’ pic is 2nd floor bedroom access!
I particularly liked the location with easy access to a grocery store & bus service. Also, the property was positioned well for local & extended walks in the countryside.
An 18th century cottage is visualized as quaint & comfy but unfortunately, this was more shabby & cramped. Very steep stairs, difficult restricted access to 2nd floor area, uncomfortable mattress, flat pillows & poor linen/towels, plus a moldy shower base.

Ok to sleep in!
Nice to have pool although it was rather cool.adequate if you want a bed for the night, but not very roomy if you wanted to spend the day there.so in our case ok.
Low door ways in an old house are understandable, but to have two whole floors with low ceilings where you can't stand up straight is not good. Whilst condition of property was acceptable it could all do with a little t.l.c.(especially outdoors)and a deep clean, indoors

Lovely stay in an 18th century cottage steeped in history and with all you could possibly need.
The host and area were fantastic. Everything you could possibly need was in the cottage, even the smallest detail. The property was very clean and really cosy and the village center that was just a 2 minute walk away lacked nothing that we as a family of 5 needed. The surrounding area (Peak District) is some of the most beautiful countryside in the country an the property is also a mere 10/15 minutes drive from the town center. Should you need it, public transport links to town are great too. If you go in the summer months you even have access to a private pool. You quite literally have pretty much everything you need on your doorstep and John, the host is a wonderful man. We had a great Christmas and New Year stay!!
This beautiful 18th Century cottage is teeny and whilst that doesn't hinder you much downstairs it does a little when you venture upstairs. The main bedroom is a great size but the ceiling height proved a little challenging for me at 6 feet tall. The bathroom was a little more challenging still because (and if any of you have seen the film Elf you will understand) the shower tray is set a good 3 inches higher than the floor. We only saw the funny side of this, especially since our 18 year old son is a burly 6'3" rugby player. The only other thing that stood out is that in the height of winter (we went to spend Christmas and New Year with family) we couldn't get the kids (attic) room warm at night. However, this was more than made up for by the thick duvet and lovely fluffy blankets provided. Once in bed the kids were toasty enough!

Quaint Cottage In Need of Modernisation
The owner was available and friendly. The locaion is good, with easy access to Sheffield city centre or the Peak District.
Whilst this is an old cottage, the facilties internally could do with a general upgrade, in particular the heating system. In most accommodation these days, it's the norm to at least leave something to drink. There was some coffee and sugar, but both had been there a while and had absorbed the damp. Whereas the property had been cleaned, there were extensive cobwebs.
