It's a tiny room without window that only double bed fits in. There is little space around the bed. You can't open well the room door because there is no space for it, it gets stuck into the bed. Toilet/bathroom is not separated from the main space because its charmonica door is broken. Everything is falling apart in the bathroom. Toilet seat is broken, shower was broken too. Everything is very, very old. You can't actually use this bathroom because of the smell and all the humidity that gets inside of the room if you take a shower. We used a shared bathroom instead. It was cold, we had no additional blankets. We used our mountaneering equipment.

It was clean. It was old-school decor which was a bit of a novelty in a soviet-bloc, rural India kind of way...

They treat you like your cash cow that's only use is to be milked. It's old and tired...although as clean as old and tired can be... Not welcoming. Not personal. How you'd be treated if staying in a homeless shelter really... An old patriarch trying to run it like we're in the 70's.

the only thing we liked was the staff, it was very cheap so we basically had no expectations. If you want to safe some money and just enjoy the beautiful island of madeira this place is perfect. If you want a quality hotel go somewhere else and pay more

please get rid of the old stinky blankets and get some new linnen :)

Well.. where to start.. on our arrival we had to wait 10 min before the (very old) host was found. the rooms where not as in the pictures on booking.com the rooms are very, very small. We booked 3 rooms with a private bathroom, 1 room had a shared bathroom/toilet. Thats not the deal we’ve made. The rooms where not clean, dust and molt is found very easy. In one of the rooms was a caterpillar on the sheet. the sheets and clean towels smelt damp and ..? the shared bathroom was very dirty, urine on the seat. Feces in the toilet. When we already had our suitcases in the rooms we’re discussing our stay in front of our doors. Then the owners wife came in our room to clean the wink with a cloth and to mob the floor here and there with a wet T-shirt. She didn’t cleaned the shared bathroom. The rooms where on the upper floor of the building, with a big case it was hard to reach. The price is way to high for what you’ll get. Its low season and we travelled the entire island with 7 different hotels. but this was the worst. IF POSSIBLE AVOID!! neither less if you still got in the same situation as us, you can make your escape true the side door, as did we. we did go back in to check with the owner, but yet again he was nowhere to be found. places like this, shouldn’t be allowed on a site as booking.com

We arrived end of February when the weather still bit chilly and windy on the north side . we got a quiet big room with separate bathroom and there was even the kitchen area as well . Super hot water and what a surprise electric BED heater was underneath us which made our stay and sleep super cozy (Love that)

There is nothing beautyfull in this place, just somewhere to sleep a night. There were nobody at the entrance, the service is absent and the place looks really old.

Old house with no lights on the stairs (It could be da ngerous). Private bathroom with broken window and dirty towels (washed but with yellow stains on them). The worst thing was that the room was cold and extremely damp, the only source of heating was the electrically heated mattresses but it was impossible to sleep. When we woke up we found our clothes and jackets completely wet from the weather in the room. I would advise the staff to review the services offered.

Breakfast costs 7 euros, but it is not worth it. Cheap price for an apartment to be on top of the list in booking, but it's cheap for reason.

The host put 200+ images in advertisements to hide the bad condition of the apartment. The real state of the apartment is much worse than in the photos. The apartment is very cold, in the description there is mention of electric heating and an electric blanket, but there was only 1 electric blanket for 4 people, and no heating. Mold is present everywhere, and you can smell cigarettes in the hall. There is no private bathroom and no place to leave your clothes in the apartment. The host is nice, but the apartment needs renovation, you should book this only if there are no alternatives. The road to the place is really dangerous. A host is a good person but he needs to put effort to make this place better. Booking propose this property for us as an alternative to our booking that was cancelled at the last minute, but this one was much worse, we moved out in one day with no compensation.

Nothing, I wouldn’t recommend this property to anyone

We were two friends traveling around the island, we got in this hostel around 10 pm and the owner told us, laughing that our room didn’t have heating because it’s too expensive right now, and he weather outside was 10 centigrades (cold). About the room we’ve never saw something like that, disgusting! bad smell in the bathroom, old furniture and no space between beds. Finally, we had to sleep with a electric blanket, and we didn’t feel safe at all.

There is a very strong smell of tobacco smoke and mould throughout. I suspect there is a total lack of fire safety in the building. it’s desperately in need of modernisation and is very dark, cluttered and frankly creepy!

This place is like moving back in time. Standard is acceptable if there was 1980. Every opportunity is used by staff to ask you if you need a taxi. I don't want to say that it was dirty, but the smell was like my room haven't been used for a long time. In the morning clock is not needed, because a rooster is waking you up even before sunrise. The building is a little bit like a maze without proper marking. This place is undoubtfully the worst quality for money I've ever been into.

The apartment has everything you need, lovely, old, cute place. We loved it :) perfect place for our trip.

We absolutely loved our stay here with Daniele and his family business. Our bedroom was clean, well furnished and had everything we needed for a comfortable sleep and stay! We really enjoyed getting to know the hosts and were so amazed by how knowledgable and insightful Daniel was as he suggested various locations and day tours for us to embark upon during our time there. We explored the island by hire car however this family business operates day excursions and tours to all of the best spots in the region! The mother prepared and cooked us a traditional Madeiran hot meal when we arrived very late from our flight and the hosts really did everything they could to give us a great welcome and friendly stay. We are so happy to have made memories at this spot and highly recommend Pensao Fernandes to anyone looking into where to stay during their time in Madeira!! We loved our time in Madeira also thanks to our stay here!

The tenants are very comprehensive. I was stuck at Madeira for 2 days during a correspondence and had almost no money and no one there. They took me from the airport and made my stay a real dream : they took me to beautiful places, gave me food and everything almost for free. The place is not like a fancy hotel but if you are looking to experience REAL Madeira, this place is perfect for you. That know all the places that tourists don’t know and they are kind That literally saved me from the nightmare I was living.
