Beautiful hotel, lovely garden areas, very friendly and attentive staff, food very good in bistro

Breakfast was served but with no choice - just presented to you For such a high quality hotel it was disappointing that the Bistro was closed Wednesdays in high summer and only other dining available on site was very expensive (in our opinion) ‘gastronomic’ restaurant.

let down by the bed. Level of room said a king size room yet bed was 2 single beds pushed together rather than a king size mattress. I pointed this out to staff after first night but nothing done to rectify. Bed not comfortable. we felt hotel was “tired” and in need of redecoration. Had dinner in restaurant on first night - chose meal with wines to accompany each course. Sommelier was very slow to offer wines and did not appear to be duly aware of what food we had chosen, was not keen to discuss wines with us and leaned over us when pouring wine!!

The ambience of the place was excellent - calm, tranquil, serene and very pretty. The building and interior were very nice and the place was an ideal venue to spend an anniversary weekend. The dinner at the gastronomic restaurant was excellent and the wine choice was excellent - the sommelier was superb in his recommendations including a local rose desert wine which went beautifully with our dessert. The service of the staff was excellent and the place exceeded our expectations overall. My wife also had the facial on site (provided by a third party but arranged by the property) which was also excellent.

Nothing - we liked everything very much!

Amazing place for a romantic weekend in the scenic Carcassonne. The hotel is elegant and clean, we can't wait to be back in summer to use the beautiful pool!
