The layout of the property was excellent - a screened in porch overlooked the pool and a view to the Chesapeake. The pool provided hours of sunbathing and games. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Worked well for group ages 21 to 82.

Our family stay was wonderful, the house was spacious and the property was beautiful, incredible views of the bay. A bald eagle flew over several times while we were in the pool. Gunner was amazing and very hospitable. We highly recommend this place and plan on returning.

My family and I returned to this glorious vacation home for a second time. We loved it so much the first time we couldn't resist, and we were not disappointed. The pictures are not deceiving. The home is well-designed, fully equipped, spacious, and comfortable. We hope to return for a third stay someday. Our thanks to Gunner for making it available.

Our family had a great time, we enjoyed the pool & ample space for cooking, puzzles, relaxing & resting. The Osprey Inn was a great dinner spot, groceries were affordable & within a quick run. We saw bald eagles every day & enjoyed beautiful sunsets over the Chesapeake.

This is our second family vacation here and we were once again reminded why we love it! This is our family's happy place!

The house was amazing! Loved every aspect of this space and the layout of the house worked fantastically for our family of 10. Ellendale had everything you needed and so relaxing. The pool house was a bonus and worked perfectly for our needs. Gunner was extremely responsive and gave us several suggestions for restaurants in town along with things to check out, and every one of them was great! We would definitely stay here again and can’t wait to book another family vacation here soon! Would love to see a book written about the history of the farm, the stories Gunner told us were so interesting and just added to the charm!

House was very well stocked with the supplies, such as spices, paper towels, foil, soap, trash bags, Tupperware, utensils, pots and pans. We had group of 7 and had ample pots to easily cook all meals. Layout of rooms was excellent to maximize the fantastic view. Location was great for easy safe bike ride to Wildlife reserve. Over 10 miles round trip.

Beautiful home on beautiful property. Everything was in great shape and furniture was very comfortable. Didn’t have use of the pool due to the time of year we stayed, but the set-up, including pool house with bathroom, looked very nice. Home was well equipped (e.g., lots of kitchen supplies, towels, bedding, etc.) and owner was extremely responsive to questions. In spite of bad weather, we had a great vacation, and it was largely due to how nice this home was and the beautiful bay view. Only two very minor negatives to speak of. We had trouble using the keyless lock code for the front door (this may have been user error) and the Wi-Fi network seemed to be weak (although we were still able to connect and view stuff on the smart TVs using our own accounts for Apple TV and the like…just slow setting it up), but these were very minor inconveniences, and did not detract from our vacation. Overall, this was a 5 star place and that’s how I rated it.

We had a great time at this property. The view of the bay was spectacular. House was clean and spacious. Fits 12 people comfortably. Gunner was very responsive to our needs.

It is like Gunner went to vacation in the home and knew he wanted to experience a home with every necessity being covered. Then he went back and added the above and beyond measures. The window coverings are high end, the sheets and towels were thick and lush, the sheets are extremely high count. The furniture, comfortable and classy. The kitchen is well stocked. This house is over and above anything we imagined and believe me, we are very well traveled . The pool house and pool were the whipcream on sundae. The final cherry on top was God providing beautiful scenery and a view of the bay and AMAZING sunsets. Gunner rocked it!!!

This is a lovely property. The views are beautiful. The pool is very clean. Our bed was comfortable and the showers were great! The kitchen has everything you need along with plenty of paper towels, trash bags, and toilet paper. Gunner was very responsive to all communication. The only thing I would suggest is the addition of some umbrellas and cushions on the chairs around the pool since it gets very hot. Overall, a lovely stay!

This was our second time staying here and, again, it really makes for a perfect vacation spot. The location and view are so peaceful. We always see lots of osprey, herons and eagles flying by. The house is so spacious, well-maintained, and fully stocked. Plenty of space to gather as a large group or find your own space. We love the pool (with a view and it’s own pool house and bathroom), the sunroom and the fire pit by the water. Gunner is incredibly easy to get a hold of and helpful. We will definitely be returning!

Had a wonderful time at the Lighthouse at Ellendale. The home is beautiful and comfortable and had everything we could need, including an abundance of towels and beach towels, which were very appreciated since we spent most of our long weekend in the pool. Self check in was super easy and Gunner was very responsive and quick to answer any questions. The most spectacular thing about the property was the beautiful views of the bay that are available from nearly every room in the house. I just left yesterday and sooo miss it already. House was ok, property is very pretty, but is not all that private. House had a lot of what you needed, but not much extra. Owner charged us an extra cleaning fee for things that were not our fault, such as a torn screen which got worse as we stayed there, but already had large holes upon arrival and is virtually impossible not to make larger, the dumpster over flowing, even though his trash guy didn’t pick up the trash before we arrived. Also, there was a major hornet problem under the screened in deck, we had 6 people in the house get stung. Overall we had a nice stay and the views from the house were stunning.

We really enjoyed our stay and the accommodations were perfect. The property has two fantastic living spaces allowing for separation yet togetherness! The spaciousness allowed for grandparents, parents and grandchildren to have a wonderful weekend.

Beautiful setting. Watched sunset every night. Great pool. Spacious kitchen. Easy drive from DC. Kids loved the downstairs. We loved the sun room and outside pool room. Also loved extra refrigerators for Beer. Did not get in the bay but my daughter-in-law paddle boarded easily and my son fished! All in all wonderful stay!

Everything was perfect - pool - accommodations- even the weather cooperated for seven adults and five children ages 4, 6, 8. 11 and 12.

We had a family gathering at this wonderful home to celebrate my retirement. We utilized the pool as the temperatures were above 90 degrees everyday, and we watched the sunset over the bay each evening in the comfort of the Adirondack chairs facing into a pleasantly strong, summer breeze. The kitchen was great as were all the gathering spaces. We loved it so much we are talking about renting it for two weeks in 2023.

We loved this home. The house is clean and beautiful. The view is breath taking. We will definitely be back.

This property was perfect....the views were great the pool and pool house were fantastic for the family. The house was clean and the beds were so comfortable. They provided sheets and towels ( pool and bath) as well as Toilet Paper and Paper towels !!!!!

This was the most beautiful vacation we've been on. Everything is updated and the layout of the property is so well planned. It had absolutely beautiful scenery.

Our family enjoyed our week at Ellendale very much. The house was very clean, the rooms were spacious, and the view was outstanding. Our teenage grandsons loved the pool. Gunner was easy to contact and very responsive to our needs. This is a great place to spend a week with family and friends.

We had a great stay! The house was beautiful & very comfortable. The property was AMAZING!! We loved the pool & views. The owner was very responsive with any questions we had. Overall just a great place to rent if your looking to get away.

There were 5 high school friends (Bladensburg class of 1976) who stayed for 3 nights. None of us wanted to leave🥺🥺. The house is GORGEOUS! The grounds are GORGEOUS! The property was pretty private. Whoever the decorator was did a wonderful. The kitchens are well stocked. No need to bring anything but your food. The only negative we had was the flys!!! We did not have any doors or windows open without using the screens. There were A LOT of flys in the house when we first arrived. Found fly swatters in the closet and chased them for 4 days. Maybe you could get some of the insect attractors that you plug into the electrical outlets. The blue light attracts the flying insects then they get caught on the sticky paper. All you have to do is replace the sticky inserts occasionally Also, I’m not sure about the other bedrooms, but the comforter on the bed in the master bedroom could use a good washing. Other then those 2 things, the house and property were absolutely amazing!!

We had a blast during our stay. A group of friends got together from all over the country to spend New Years together and because of the Covid surge, basically just stayed in the house the whole time! The house has plenty of space and a beautiful view- it was perfect for us. Would also be great for multiple families with kids. There’s a separate upstairs and downstairs with full kitchens and a TV in both places- great for the night owls to stay up on one floor of the house while the early birds got to sleep. Practically immediate response when communicating with the host, and easy check in process. Would definitely go back if we find ourselves in the area again!
