Nice place, very relaxing

This house was located in a great community for families. Having little kids on the trip, the private bay side beach and pool were amazing amenities. The walk to the “real” beach was further, but still very doable! Close to lots of great shops and restaurants. I give the location 5 stars The house itself was pretty standard. Good layout for multiple families, the furniture was in decent shape. Would give the home itself 4 stars. The cleanliness was the biggest downfall. It was clear the cleaning done was very basic (aka if you moved a chair, bed, table, you’d surely find some garbage). Upon shifting a bed two feet so it could be against a wall (for a toddler sleeper), we found a condom wrapper and used q-tips. There were ants in part of the kitchen and some surfaces just seemed perpetually sticky. We did go late in the season, so perhaps we missed a deeper cleaning of the property, but I’d give the cleanliness 2 stars. It was still habitable, but still left you feeling a little dirtier than a rental should.

Besides some cosmetic updates (furniture old and couches ripped, lamp broken, walls need new paint) all stuff that goes with short term rentals. The location was great!

This was our 4th time visiting Sunset Island, first time staying at this specific townhome. We loved the location- it was a peaceful spot overlooking the fountains, but also very close to Marisols, the pool, and bay. We did have two issues that were resolved that day by Vacasa- the AC stopped working and we found black mold in the master bathroom. Both issues were taken very seriously and addressed quickly. There were also some water marks on the ceilings on the main level. Having two king beds along with a queen was great for our large family. The full mattress on the second level was extremely uncomfortable. While the unit seemed generally clean, the couches and area rugs were very worn and appeared dirty.

The unit was great. The unit was spacious and well appointed. The pool and sunset grill made pool days enjoyable for the kids. Beach was walking distance if you weren’t carrying too much but I dropped everyone off with chairs and then drove back. The A/C on the floor with the bedrooms could have cooled down that floor better. Likely because the thermostat was on a lower floor and could only be lowered to 68 leaving the bedrooms in the mid 70’s.

There was black mold throughout the house, especially coming out of the vents. We were all waking up sick every morning! Tables and chairs were broken, the garage had issues opening & closing, the blinds were broken, etc. They were more concerned about their rules and regulations and giving out violations rather than fixing and maintaining their property. Overall the location was nice, and the office staff was friendly while checking in. Would we stay there again? No, especially with the black mold literally throughout the entire house!

I go to OC every year for bike week with few friends half of us ride down half drive a truck with a trailer for all of our luggage and other people put their bikes on the trailer that dont want to ride. Every other place i rented allows you to park the trailer on their property but this property nor did they tell us that untill i pulled up at the gate and the security guard said no trailers on the property so we had to unload all of our stuff and pay to park our trailer somewhere else. Luckily security guard was cool and let us unload everything off the trailer in front of our rental property and not right in the street. So for that i will not rent from these guys again at least for bike week everything else is great hope this helps and other bikers read this. The owners have done a wonderful job! The place is beautifully decorated. They had everything we needed. Brand new washer and dryer and a fully stocked kitchen with all the supplies we could ask for. My family loved being so close to the beach and having access to the swimming pool and gym. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

First trip to OC for us. Townhome is laid out very well, very homey. It had all the comforts of home.. Pool was a great alternative to beach. Variety in bed sizes gave options for sleeping 4 families. All the appliances worked well. Has 3.5 baths. Access to beach only 2 blocks away and lots of restaurants/shopping in walking distance.

The property was gorgeous! The decorations were simple but cute. There was more than enough room for my party with sleeping arrangements with ample private areas when needed. There are two BIG Screen TVs in Living area...... good for Adults and Kids. Enjoyed Clubhouse with massive indoor pool. Love the front clam Shell Parking. I would rent again! I wish I was able to afford to live here year round!

The house was very clean and the kitchen was great. We also loved the pool. This property could not have been located any better. The space is enormous. Love the top floor balcony! Interactive Fountains are fun to watch from front balcony. Can't wait to come back again!!

No hassle. Appreciate that I could check in late. Rooms and cleanliness were more than adequate. Only complaint I have, is the early check out at 10am. Otherwise, exceeded my expectations. Thank you.

Our property was very dirty. Had to go buy cleaning supplies to clean which I did not plan on doing on vacation. There were dirty dishes in the cabinets and dirty silverware in the drawers . No outdoor shower, no working light on porch, broken screens, broken and dirty furniture along with the filthy carpet . There is rust in the dishwasher and the clothes dryer. I failed to mention that we did not care for people coming into our unit when no one was home.

We have stayed at Sunset Island several times and this is our first time being disappointed. I understand this is a rental property and many people go through it, but this place needs a major overhaul. The furniture was filthy and we would not sit on it without a blanket. Other furniture was ripped and needs to be replaced. When the pull out couch was opened to be slept on, there was garbage in it. One of our toddlers pulled a pill out from under the kitchen couch when a toy went under it. Not only does the furniture need replacing, so does the cleaning company. Totally overpriced for the accommodations this rental offered. This is an updated review as we were informed we had to change our original post which included the location of this rental.

House was great and so was the stay in Sunset Island!

This community is very nice. Great environment and amenities! The unit we stayed in was in need of new carpet or tile and could use some work. Lots of stairs. Would stay again , might look for different unit
