A Perfect Stay at Deer Garden Hotel in Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka! Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Deer Garden Hotel during my visit to Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. This charming hotel is an absolute gem, catering to travelers from both inside and outside the country. From the moment I arrived to the day of my departure, everything was flawless. **Location ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐** Deer Garden Hotel is nestled in the heart of Polonnaruwa, surrounded by lush greenery and just a stone's throw away from the city's historical sites. Its central location makes it a perfect base for exploring the cultural wonders of this ancient city. **Accommodation ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐** The rooms at Deer Garden are both spacious and comfortable, providing a truly restful haven after a day of sightseeing. The beds were plush, ensuring a good night's sleep, and the room amenities were top-notch. The attention to detail in the room's decor added a touch of elegance to the overall experience. **Dining ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐** The dining experience at Deer Garden was an absolute highlight. From breakfast to dinner, every meal was a delight to the taste buds. The hotel's commitment to serving fresh, local ingredients shone through in every dish. The breakfast spread was diverse and included both local and international options, catering to a wide range of preferences. Lunch and dinner were equally impressive, with a variety of culinary delights that showcased the richness of Sri Lankan cuisine. **Service ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐** The staff at Deer Garden Hotel are truly the heart and soul of this establishment. Their warmth, attentiveness, and willingness to go above and beyond for the guests made the stay even more memorable. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with genuine smiles and a level of service that truly sets this hotel apart.

We were redirected to a different guest house. The owner should have informed us, but he was so unprofessional not to do so.

We really enjoyed our stay at Deer Garden Guest. If you love authentic and quiet places surrounded by nature, combined with a spacious room and a nice terrace to sit on, Deer Garden Guest is your place. The room we stayed in was a family room, on booking.com referred as 'Budget Triple Room' which is bigger than a usual double room, it was like a small apartment on ground floor (no stairs to walk which is a big plus) with 2 connected rooms and a kitchen area. We loved the extra space, absolutely recommended. Bed was good, mosquito net was provided, rooms equipped with fan, breakfast was included and delicious. Great value for money. The place is well located in a beautiful and authentic neighborhood in walking distance to the Pollonaruwa ancient city and only 5 minutes walk to a nice and clean river which you can even swim in if you like. As we saw many people swimming and/or doing their laundry in the river, we had a swim and did some laundry ourselves and it was just the most beautiful day by the river. Deer Garden Guest also provides laundry service for a small fee. The hosting family was very welcoming and helpful during our entire stay, they gave us recommendations and helped organizing whatever we needed. We even reached out to them for local support at a ticket office in Nanu Oya after we had already left and travelled on, and they were so kind to help and solve the situation for us. So thankful for that! Happy with our stay in every possible way.
