Room had everything but is small…there’s a bit too much furniture for the size of room (dump the coffee table to start). Beds were comfortable and high enough so suitcases fit underneath - good move. The TV didn’t work because it was on the wrong input and there was no way to change it with the remote but that wasn’t bad. Breakfast is amazing!!! The best we had in Scandinavia by far.

Comfortable bed and pillow selection and a short walk to restaurants and shopping. The highlight was the included breakfast which was amazing.

We arrived at 15.30 in the afternoon on a gloriously beautiful day in Bergen. We were warmly welcomed by the reception staff and it took just a few minutes to check in and obtain our room keys. The Hotel is most definitely a world class 4 star hotel with all the amenities and service that you would expect from such a quality standard. The room was well appointed, spacious, quite and had an electric kettle, electric iron and ironing board, a mini refrigerator, wide screen TV, free Wi-Fi and, a small safe. The room was spotlessly clean, well aired and room temperature just fine. The windows could be opened too for added ventilation if required. The curtains were heavy drapes that kept the light out and were well fitted. The bed was very comfortable with high quality bedding and a firm mattresses topper. The pillows were firm as well and a good size as, many hotels in Norway provide half size pillows! There is an ice maker on each floor as well, a capsule coffee machine (or tea) in the lobby area, free to guests. The hotel is conveniently located near to the harbor as well as a an historical fortress with parkland located just 40 meters from the hotel. Our room rate included a substantial breakfast buffet served from 7am until 10am A selection of great tasting international dishes, smoked salmon too and of course, fresh pastries, assortment of freshly baked bread, bread rolls, croissants, fresh fruit etc. This is one of the best 4 star hotels I have ever stayed

It was two blocks from Bryggen the historic city site and next to the harbor and within walking distance from everything. Quite and respectable place. No complaints. Breakfast was also good.

The staff were all very friendly. The room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable. Complementary breakfast was also very good, with lots of choice.

The main issue was the temperature in the room - there’s no air conditioning, and though the outside temperature was in the 60s, the windows only open a fraction of an inch, and there was no way to get any relief. Otherwise, great location, walkable to many sites.

Great location from the major attractions and the ferry point to travel outside Bergen. Bustop less than 2 mins from hotel. As usual great breakfast from Thom hotels. Staff as usual very polite and helpful. Only issue was that the room I booked had a cramped toilet and bathroom. Every time you use the bathroom the water trickles everywhere and makes the bathroom/ toilet messy.

Nice position of the hotel in the town Really serviceminded people working there Good breakfast Room not very inspirational. And clearly below expectation from the ratings of the hotel at hotels.com. Kind of old and worn out with lots of marks on walls ect. Very small bathroom. We ordered separate beds and had to move them apart ourself. The size per bed only 70 cm, så really little space for a grown teen almost 2 meters high.

The fridge didn’t work, the parking was a joke and because there was no air conditioning the noise from the tourists and festival was bad from open windows. The parking was blocks away on a first come first served basis so it was unavailable until later. The parking was closed until 08:00. The help didn’t alert us to the poor parking availability as we schleped our luggage.

Thon hotel stays for us anywhere in Norway is a good experience. The breakfast is fit for kings. Love it Love it. The rooms though were not spacious and was small but our family of 4 somehow fitted in. The bathroom was also small like in an airplane with the exception of a slightly bigger shower. The bathroom had some smell when we first used it. Likely it was not sprayed with a sanitizer. Everything else was good. We had a good view from our room. One of tge window latches was broken and the window could not be opened so on a hot day it would be a slight issue.

Lovely hotel within walking distance to the Fish Market, tours, and shopping. The breakfast buffet is fabulous! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

I enjoyed Thon Hotel Orion because it was near the stores and attractions but not on the busy street. It was quiet and nice. The Hotel was generally clean and comfortable. However, staff did not keep the free coffee/tea area clean of dirty dishes nor stocked consistently. The room was small and few areas to store our clothes so it was tight to get around the bed and bathroom was small but my husband and I are not big people. Restaurant staff could be friendlier and more helpful but food was good and plenty available. We asked for breakfast to go but did not have much items to pick from and was given a plastic bag, empty bottle for drinks and 1 paper sheet for food with out explanation of what to do but we figured it out. we just expected like box for hot items so did a sandwich with cold meat/cheese. Front staff was helpful and friendly. Housekeeping was very helpful too. Wish that the hotel would have had permission to watch EuroCup in the Lounge-- there were many guests who were interested but they turned it off and said they had no permission so bummer and had to figure it out in the room instead with other guests to provide fun entertainment. First time in Norway-- fun time exploring

We stayed here because it was convenient to the cruise port. Location is perfect for that. We were cruising on Viking and it was less than a 10 minute walk from the hotel to the port with luggage. Convenient also to the center of town. I thought the rooms had AC but I was mistaken and it was quite humid when we were here, mid-July. And the lounge was closed for a private group while we were there. The lounge was just an area of chairs and sofas. It appeared you purchased drinks from the reception area and then could sit in the lounge. Breakfast was very good. Lots to choose from and not crowded despite the tour groups. Overall, very nice hotel. I would recommend it.

The hotel room was small but modern (heated bathroom floor was a bonus on a cold day!) Friendly helpful staff. Terrific included breakfast. Perfectly located with an ancient fortress next door, along with many shops, restaurants and museums within easy walking distance.
