Amazing hotel. Friendly staff, excellent location (walkable to lightrail). Awesome breakfast, comfy beds! Would highly recommend!

The hotel is in very convenient place and the breakfast is so good. However, the room is very simple without landline phone. The wall is not noisy cancellation. I can heard snoring from next room and street noise. I consider this hotel is two stars.

Good location but on a noisy street, with insufficient window insulation. The shower room was in poor condition, the drain of the sink was blocked during our two-night stay and it has been impossible to get a plumber to fix it. The staff at the reception was very nice, but helpless. Will never come back to Scandic Bypassen. A week after, we were at Scandic Torget, the experience has been way better there.

Breakfast was very good and staff was friendly. Right outside our window was an area with garbage bins which was very noisy until midnight. We weren’t able to crack the window open to cool the room off without being woken up multiple times due to banging, yelling and a very bright motion light. We are certain that rooms on the outer perimeter of the building that don’t have windows like ours would be much better to stay in. Half eaten food from the previous stay was also still in the fridge when we arrived.

Had a great stay. Room was clean, location was fantastic, staff was very nice and helpful as well, breakfast was amazing.

The place had bed bugs. I switched rooms and still found a bed bug on my towel in the new room. I had to stick it out for 6 nights.

Stayed for two nights and had friendly and helpful staff.

We stayed for two nights at this hotel and loved everything about it. The staff were exceptionally friendly, and the breakfast was amazing. You could tell the chefs put so much passion and love into the food because it tasted so delicious. The hotel’s location was also excellent. We were very happy during our stay and would absolutely book again when we return to Bergen.

Despite my short-term booking I got the room I specifically asked for. That was very nice :) Overall the staff was very kind and attentive, especially the young woman when I checked out gave me such nice und personal words and wishes, I look forward to coming back!

The hotel is in a great location near the lovely city park and close to the main train station. It is not far from the harbour, within a few minutes walking distance but not so close as to be noisy. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was average - not many amenities but it was clean. Bed was comfortable although the pillows were too soft and didn’t offer much neck support. WiFi was good but TV channels were limited - no international channels. The breakfast buffet was fantastic- great selection though I would have liked to see more fish offerings.

The room was very small with no space around the bed and the curtains didn’t cover the window We had a standard double room No kettle in the room which had been provided at another hotel in this chain that we stayed in

Front desk was helpful and friendly, location was great, and people seemed to like the breakfast but I didn't try it. Room wasn't in the best of shape and shower looked like it had mold in a couple areas. Otherwise everything else was good.

The Scandic Byparken in Bergen is the perfect location for exploring the city - it’s within walking distance of the port, the shops and plenty of great places to eat. (Top tip - Pingvinen is awesome!) Overall, our stay was everything we hoped it would be, although it didn’t start that way. We booked online, having read previous reviews and browsed the photos of the rooms. Unfortunately, the room we were given looked nothing like any of the photos on the website. Instead of being bright and spacious, our room was tiny, dark and the only window opened to a nearby brick wall. The queen-sized bed was pressed up against a wall, and everything about it felt tired and dated. Having said all of this, the front-desk staff were very understanding and responsive when we expressed our disappointment, and they immediately moved us into a much better room. And from then on, our stay was as good as it could have been. In particular, we would commend; a) the complimentary breakfast. Having stayed in many hotels, the variety and the quality of breakfast options at the Scandic Byparken was by far the best we’ve ever experienced. b) the staff. All of the staff - the desk staff, the breakfast serving team, the cleaners - were incredibly helpful and friendly. We felt very welcomed.

This location was very walkable to everywhere we wanted to go. The breakfast was amazing. Great affordable place to stay.
