Great hotel, ideally placed courteous staff with impeccable English

I an sorry but this cannot be a 4-star hotel. Probably the worst experience I have had with an Expedia hotel or any hotel in Europe for that matter. The staff are decent as was the breakfast but everything else was noticeably poor: my room barely fits a chihuahua let alone a human, room service has to be ordered and picked up by the guest, nobody helps with luggage if needed, and the location while central is not the best especially in rainy Bergen. The room amenities were substandard also. The rating should certainly be revised down and significant improvements needed.

Very nice facility right on the edge of the downtown. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The included buffet breakfast was amazing with a very broad selection of offerings. They require a reservation for a seating upon check-in which was wise given how crowded it was. Staff was very helpful

Convenient location. Great breakfast buffet. Weird shower - basically the floor of the bathroom. The rubber gasket on the bottomed of the "door" leaked and we had a flooded floor every time we showered. If the drain were more recessed into the floor, I think that also would've made a big difference.

It was a convenient location right in the harbor and within long walking distance of our ship. The staff at the desk helped find a quiet place for dinner in a city full of cruise passengers. She also told us about a librarian at the Bergen Library who helped us find the address of an ancestor in Hugesund!

Nice property. Rooms with views are nice. Rooms/Hallways could use a refresh but not bad.

The staff was helpful when we first arrived. We were tired from the flight and got us in our room immediately. The selection for breakfast was fantastic.

Beautiful views, COMFORTABLE BEDS, clean, delicious breakfast you can eat with a gorgeous view of Bryggen and the harbour. Friendly staff and weird thing i loved was the water pressure lol. Loved every second stayed here. The only thing was i always wanted to be back at the hotel to rest !! Sad to be leaving.

The location was great. Breakfast in the morning was well tended to and you could sit outside and look at the harbor which was lovely. One day I did come back and people were working on a light bulb in my room and I had not been notified of this prior to it happening which was a bit stressful and I was taken aback (especially as a solo female traveler). But the front staff were very kind and apologetic about the matter and apologized profusely. Very close to a lot of the different locations for tour departures which was great. The rooms were clean and the bathroom nice. Did have heavy shades for when staying in the summer with the sun setting so late.

Staff helped with local knowledge and valuable genealogical suggestions!

The ice machin in floor 2 near the elevator was confusing. I mistook it for a water machine.

Close to fish market, shopping and restaurants. Rooms were clean and staff helpful. Unfortunately it was a warm weekend and the rooms don’t have AC so very hot. If you open the doors to balcony, hear noise of bars all night. Also the shower door is not sealed so water spreads over floor and makes a mess

The room that I got was in the old part and poorly renovated if any. You could see pipes coming out of the wall. And not like in design style. In addition the room had a bad smell. The view was in front of the office building with direct view to the offices. No parking near the hotel. Breakfast was good.

This is the best location with the best view in Bergen. Rooms vary a lot in size, quality, and price, hall carpet is old, and the halls can be a maze. But good beds, great views, windows that open, excellent breakfast, and kind staff make a difference.
