Lived Oslo in general. The hotel is in a great area. Staff very nice. The breakfast buffet excellent I had a junior suite and it was very comfortable

Very small room

Excellent stay at a modern hotel in great location near harbor and Parliament. Easy to walk to from the train, several public transportation options out the door. Pleasantly surprised by a nice light supper buffet, excellent breakfast buffet - fresh, healthy and plenty of it. The hotel is oddly situated between two buildings but you figure it out after a few trips around. Even a decent sized gym (treadmill, bike, eclipse, free weights, mats, ball) with a view of the street action. Very comfortable beds (on the smaller, European size, but enough if you're average sized) and tidy, compact room. Worth the price given all these extras, uncomplicated check in/ out, and location.

We like the hotel but we did find the room small.

The staff was extra friendly and helpful. It was easy to get a taxi and you could walk easily to all local attractions.

Thanks to this hotel, we enjoy our trip enough :) I can use the lounge after check out to make my son take a nap. It’s so helpful!

Great location with excellent breakfast as well as a light evening meal mon-thurs. Room was typical for Europe in size (small) but very clean and comfortable. Staff are super friendly and helpful.

Thon Hotel Cecil has two pluses: the location is good and so is the breakfast. It also has some important minuses to be aware of. The hotel is really noisy, especially on Thurs, Fri, and Saturday owing to the late, late night noise from bar patrons, as well as trams. During our stay, the hotel had important items that were not working, including one elevator and the thermostat in our room. For four nights the only temperature control was to open the window, which of course made the noise a lot worse. Based on thermostat icons, it appeared to be locked in the off position. I told the front desk that our thermostat wasn't working. They were unable to fix it and told me that there was no one who could fix it during our 4 night stay. It is a dated hotel so it is not surprising that stuff is broken. What is surprising is that they couldn't it nor did they offer a different room nor even the slightest apology.

Perfect location for many of the places tourists want to visit & 5-10 min walk from national theatre station. Great breakfast choice though I wish they had more than one slow toaster for 2 slices of bread & one coffee machine (for pods). Staff were friendly & clearly do their best to help customers. We were in quiet room on top floor facing inwards over breakfast area. Double rooms are a bit tight for space but have all facilities needed - there are larger superior rooms. Good sized luggage storage room (but it is not supervised& at your own risk) - we had no probs.

This hotels location is phenomenal. Very close to major sites, the train station, shopping, ferries. It was a bit of a maze to get to our rooms but the rooms were very good and adequate. The breakfast buffet was quite good other than a crowded line for coffee. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Overall, great location, good clean rooms.

This is a gem of a place. Located near several key sites, the harbor area, parks, restaurants. Everything walkable. They have an outstanding breakfast buffet and the staff are knowledgable and helpful. The place is not fancy; the rooms are plain but functional. The price is very reasonable for a European capital with this location. Five stars!

Great location and breakfast. Super small room

This hotel is an absolute gem! From the front desk staff to the incredible breakfast selection and breakfast room decoration. It's listed as a three-star hotel but I have had worse experience, food, and service in a five-star hotel. I'd say it's a fresh coat of paint and new carpeting from being four-star. Would definitely recommend and we'd stay there again. Fantastic.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is amazing - one of the best we've ever had. We stayed over a weekend and were awakened by club music until the wee hours of the morning (1:30 am) on Friday and Saturday. Rooms are small and the hotel layout is a bit strange -- the only hotel window looked directly into the restaurant.

This was the best hotel we stayed in in Scandinavia. Clean, amazing staff who were knowledgeable, friendly, and thorough. Quiet rooms that were well decorated and maintained. Excellent breakfast.

The rooms were immaculate, and the staff was exceptionally kind and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was a delightful surprise, truly one of a kind. The hotel's location is convenient, just a 10-15 minute walk to popular tourist destinations. While the exterior and lobby of the building initially left us feeling disappointed, our impressions quickly changed upon entering our room, which exceeded our expectations.

Great hotel, wonderful breakfast! The lobby bar on the seventh floor was not well advertised but a hidden gem which provides a great view!

An ironing board was provided as furniture. It was very helpful. The breakfast staff worked very hard and was very kind. It felt so good.

Wonderful location

The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was great with a lot of choices. I was on the second floor on the street side and it was very loud since I was over a bar. I moved and it was so quiet! The locks on the door were a bit funky. I stayed with two other people in two other rooms and we all had issues with the door locks.
