Very happy. It did what it said on the tin.
A little old fashioned.... which was right nice!!
Local to The Cliffs for a show. Early check-in was very welcomed alone with parking, so able to go off, have a walk, a drink & enjoy the show.

Staff were friendly but hotel was dated and room was very dusty and worn. Bathroom was clean and towels and bedding appeared clean.

Not good at all because they disappointed me for family apartments I booked and gave me other rooms, so my family was not happy so we decided to check out 3night after instead of 7nights.

A very well run hotel in a fantastic location.

This is an older property and average condition but very clean. It is 17 minute walk to Southend Central train station. Hotel has a wonderful breakfast in a delightful breakfast room overlooking the garden or street. It is easy walking to the Pier or High Street for shopping or along the ocean promenade.

Have stayed here a few times now, room has always been spotlessly clean, breakfast is excellent & sets you up for the day, staff are all lovely & really helpful & friendly, a short walk from train station & beach, holiday booked to visit my son who has moved to the area & we will continue to stay here every visit, can’t fault it.

This is a nice property near the cliffs in Southend on Sea. The staff are friendly and kind. Near other places in Southend in case you are meeting friends.

Location good, family that run it are lovely but the hotel is dated and shabby. We had an apartment and this was not good at all.

Very nice hotel, breakfast excellent. Staff were absolutely brilliant all of them.

Lovely friendly helpful staff. The hotel did what it is meant to do. Had a lovely stay. Breakfast included was nice and filling. Would stay again, if in the area.

Lovely stay; recently refurbished room and sparkling clean en-suite. Made good use of the fan provided, during a warm night.
Only suggestion is to offer fruit, yogurt and perhaps croissants for breakfast as not everyone likes a full English. However, our breakfast was well cooked and delicious.
Had good advice and help with parking, as we arrived, which was much appreciated as parking is tight.

I liked the friendly staff
I did not like that my bed was not made for the 3 nights I stayed

Great host, great evening meal (excellent value). A really nice owner who’s got a great little b&b there. Only one criticism though it maybe just me and my work colleague, the breakfast should be self service, or at least give that option. Highly recommended.

Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Hotel was clean and tidy. Our room was a nice size with a big bathroom. Shower over the bath so could have either. Facilities in our room for tea or coffee were excellent.
Highly recommend this hotel.

One of the best b and b’s we’ve ever stayed in. Great location, we could actually see the sea from our room although it’s not a seafront location.
Our room was huge, with a big comfy bed, a fridge, sofa, tea/coffee making facilities and a lovely en-suite shower room. Plenty of hot water and big fluffy towels. Shampoo and shower gel provided but no hand wash.
In the morning, we had a lovely full English with the best hash browns I’ve ever had.
Service was very friendly throughout. We will definitely stay here again when we next come.

No lift for upper floors. Bed for a couple is only a double size, not king. Good shower. Breakfast is not open, you cannot access food and coffee by yourself. Door a little bit difficult to open. 13 minutes walking to reach the centre, streets by night have low light.
probably only a 3 stars.

The room we stayed in (3) seemed brand new. It was large with a comfortable bed and excellent walk in shower. We also discovered that they did evening meals, which were good value for money, tasty and filling. The male staff we met were very efficient without being over friendly, whilst our breakfast server, female, was both.

We loved our stay in the hotel.
The staff are very friendly and service is 10/10 as nothing was too much trouble.
We loved the spacious family apartment which more than suited a small family.
We really enjoyed the choice at breakfast and the standard of food.
It was definitely value for money to stay here and i expect we will return.
The parking was also free and safe.

Check in was very good. Bed a bit soft for my liking but then again some people dont like hard beds. Shower was good pressure and warm. Breakfast was cooked well. Maybe less beans and 2 sausages, but again personsl preference. Staff at breakfast very friendly. All in all good experience.

Breakfast not the best quality.
Beds clean and room well equipped

Staff friendly and made our stay very comfortable.

A very good all round experience, very clean and tidy albeit a little outdated but close to seafront and easy walking distance from the station and the town centre. Attentive staff and good for cooked breakfast.

Please read my review till the end. I want to leave as honest review as I can. On arrival I thought the property was a bit dated. But - please don't be put off by it. We had the most comfortable 2 night stay. The staff could not do enough for us. The apartment we stayed is a little different to whar we are used to - it took us back to 1970s sea side holiday. And gosh did we love it. We were so comfortable, the flat though perhaps in a bit of disrepair (sorry guys I'm just being honest) had so much character, was so warm, so quiet, the location was just perfect with 10 mins walk to adventure land and some stunning views on the way. Easy enough parking on the street with permit from the hotel. We booked with breakfast but we slept so well we missed it both days ! We will definitely would love to come back when visiting again. ☺️

I stayed for 3 nights at the end of January. The hotel and staff were very nice. The interior is a bit dated but everything was very clean and welcoming. The only thing that might deter people is that there weren't any elevators. They also keep the front doors locked and provided a front door key with my room key which I thought was very nice. I would stay here again.

It was nice to stay at a family owned hotel, they couldn't have been more pleasant and knowledgeable of the area, evening dinner was excellent steak cooked perfectly and my wife had Cajun chicken also excellent.oir room has been modified and very nice too, comfortable and warm.

A lovely room for a 1 night stay the staff are very friendly and can’t do enough for you. There is a small amount of car parking at the rear on first come basis. The room had tea and coffee making facilities and a lovely walk on shower. The hotel has a small restaurant with very nice home cooked food and I had a very nice full English breakfast in the morning. The hotel is a short 10 min walk to the local theatre in one direction and a 15 min walk in the other direction to the pier and funfair etc.
All in all a very nice stay over in a comfortable room and I would have no hesitation in staying here again if I am in the area

Probably the best older property we've stayed in on any English coast.
Didn't realise there was a bar and restaurant until we got there so missed out on that in the evening but breakfast was great!
Amenities in the room were super. Iron, hairdryer, fridge, tea/coffee, fluffy towels, most importantly clean and a comfy bed.
There is even a small car park, which we haven't always found in smaller hotels, so nightmare seaside parking wasn't even an issue.
Will be staying here again (and the wife agrees).

Couldn’t fault this property, spotlessly clean, well positioned for the Cliffs Pavilion. The staff were excellent, very welcoming and flexible, providing a meal outside of dining hours to meet our needs. Would definitely visit again if in the area.

The hotel good value, and the hotel is in a road 100yds
to the road above the sea front which has a long stretch
of green area which has loverly sea views and plenty seating areas, may not be suitible for some disabed people
as nearest lift to sea front is about 15 min walk.
