We loved our short two night stay! We were very grateful for the hospitality and cleanliness. They allowed us to utilize free parking before check in time. They provide umbrella, chairs, boogie boards, sand toys for beach for free! Location to beach is perfect! We could have rented bikes $20 for 24 hours which is a great deal! We will stay here again!

Super great area and decent price for California right on the beach. The rooms were clean but dated and that’s ok with me. Staff was excellent!

Location was great, hotel was so so. The beds were uncomfortable with the feeling that springs were always popping up when anyone would sit or lay on the beds. The shower was not great. The water would not drain properly in the shower, so any additional person needing to shower was standing in the previous persons shower water. Also, we arrived to the area at around noon and went to the desk to inquire about early check in. They stated early check in would be an additional $50 for a room that they already had ready. I understand an additional charge if housekeeping is scrambling to get a room ready fast for someone arriving early, but charging me additionally for a room that’s already clean and ready seems a little silly.

Walk right across the street to the beach. Perfect.

Outdated, in poor repair and uncomfortable, noisy and on a very busy road. We end up leaving early. The proximity to the beach and the available towels, chairs and boogie boards were the saving grace, but not worth the price.

Great location and room size (family room). Walking distance to the beach and there’s a nice cafe next door. Floor needed a good cleaning/mopped better, but I’ll definitely stay again.

Very good hotel, very close to the beach. Accommodated beach goers by having beach towels and a wash off hose easily accessible. I will come back to this location. Very nice people.

We enjoyed our time in Newport. The hotel was in a great location with easy access and lots of close dining. The hotel itself is well maintained, clean and we felt safe. I will definitely stay there again!

Proximity to the beach and beach, shopping and other amenities is great. The restaurant next door (Cappy’s) was a great diner. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The motel is a classic old beach motel and the rooms are partially updated but not updated very well. I stayed in 2 rooms- one had oddly squishy flooring (new engineered hardwood that seemed put over old flooring) with a few gouges/hole. The sink was smelly when you ran water and the furniture is so old - chairs were sunken and the wood a little sticky from years of people touching them. The place could use some work. However the second room was in a little better condition but with the same furniture. There was a very nice sunny deck on the second level that was a great outside sitting area, even if just concrete with plastic chairs. The price was great and parking was included and it was very easy to find a space. I would go back if price continued to be my deciding factor for a room.

Be honest with yourself, you're paying for the proximity to the ocean and surrounding area. The room was clean and met our expectations. The woman at the front desk was very kind and helpful. It was wonderful. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Very cozy room, and a bit like stepping back in time a few years. Comfortable and quiet. A good place to spend the night.

Great property across from the beach

We stayed here 2 years ago and were very pleased. Happy to say that the visit was great again this year. The rooms are large and well laid out, comfortable beds. Nice and helpful staff. Great location and price. Try the Spaghetti Bender up the street, it's a favorite from my wife's childhood. Only thing is that the floor needs to be cleaned a little better from the sand coming from the nearby beach.

Very close to the beach. Not walkable, but only 5 min away. Had an excellent pizza and salad at 22nd Street Pizza. Highly recommend. Great help, very friendly and man was that pizza GOOD. Way better than the crap you eat from chain restaurants. The hotel is simple. But clean.

Enjoyed our stay there. We will definitely stay on our next trip. Highly recommend this place.
