Our room was clean & the view of Izmir Bay was beautiful. The food was delicious. The hamam service, thermal pool, heated pool were wonderful. The personnel were very helpful and courteous. The air smelled pine and rosemary.

Overall, it is way below expectations.
The good:
- Shower in the room
- Breakfast
The OK
- Pools, although old and in need of maintenance + you need to wear a bonnet (that you buy for 20 TRY each)
- The mattresses
The bad/disappointing:
- The staff is very uninterested. They are friendly when you talk to them, but they never greet you in the hallways, we had to ask for a high chair each morning at breakfast instead of getting one offered, and when cutlery dropped they just left it on the floor, both coffee machines for breakfast gave warnings for 'deep cleaning of the milk parts', they said "just click the error away" etc.
- Generally, the place is old and not well taken care of
- The rooms are dirty, especially with drawings on the walls, stains in the curtains, etc.
- It is impossible to get a drink at the pool, you have to walk inside and find someone to help you
- Extremely child-unfriendly, both in terms of food and the -only- play area with some slides etc. hidden away from everything else

Lack of basic amenities like water and coffee in lobby area contributed to a lower rating. Spa and pool was great but location is isolated. Rooms are small for 3.

Great hotel with a very nice pool. My room was super comfortable and always very clean.
However, I found the food options just ok. The hotel is close to a lively university and shopping area, but that was too far (20 minutes through a run-down area) to walk to. The only option was taking a taxi, which is too much of a hassle if you just want a quick bite.
The other big negative was that, other than the reception, the staff didn't really speak English, so it was hard to communicate, especially special requests.
And, this might be petty, but I was annoyed they never restocked the minibar. I didn't want to order room service for a can of soda. There was a lobby bar, but it wasn't set up in a way that you could just grab a drink or coffee and take it to your room.
Overall, if you plan to stay mostly in the hotel, you should be ok, but if you plan to go out or try different food/shopping nearby, pick a hotel that is better connected.

The hotel was cool and quiet. The room was comfortable. The staff were friendly and attentive. I did not use the spa facilities but others in my group did and enjoyed it very much. I would go back to this hotel

The hotel location is excellent and nice hotel indoors / outdoors. However, cleanliness is a concern. They don't clean the room and toilets very well. cups and glasses were left uncleaned almost every day of our stay. Water bottles were not provided, and tissue boxes were missing. The toilet floor was always sticky, and not cleaned. We felt most hotel staff are not well trained and sporting rude behavior.

(-) The hotel crew needs a lot of training, they are not picking their words carefully, in my opinion, due to the lack of training! I speak their local language as well. I heard them talking to tourists from the EU states in English. They sound very strange when talking to guests in Turkish and English.

The area around this hotel is actually quite nice however it is a property which is run down. It urgently needs a renovation. The rooms are old and dirty. The cleaning is almost non existing. I have questions about the shower for instance being hygienic. I stayed for three days and the carpet was never vacuum cleaned. The window glasses of the room are so dirty you hardly can see the landscape outside. In total it's definitely not worth the money.

It was an amazing hotel, with the shopping centre right next to the hotel. Bathrooms need an upgrade, but not bad at all. Breakfast was lovely. Central cooling was not working, but left window open. Lovely garden and play area for kids.

I love Kaya Izmir, always stay there when I visit Izmir, the hotel is magnificent, the staff are super nice & helpful, it’s managed perfectly, services specially the spa is wonderful, food is delicious, rooms are beautiful and super clean.

Booked because of the thermal spa. Some parts looked tired and in need of an upgrade. The thermal jacuzzi was gorgeous. Also had a Turkish bath and massage treatments which were excellent. Prices are in TL and not euro’s which was also preferred. The two bedroom room was so spacious and comfortable and the included breakfast fresh with lots of options. The hotel was also very accommodating with a free of charge late checkout. One note of caution to check your bill before settling. Incorrect mini bar charges were quickly removed when queried. Enjoyed our stay and will book again.

Imagine arriving at a hotel on a hot summer day two hours after this normal check-in time (4pm, room delivery time is 2pm), but you have to wait about two hours for room delivery.Twice during this time you ask the hotel staff for tea and disinfectant, but your order is not taken seriously.I paid for three adults, but I was given a double room with an extra bed, but all the facilities (including towels, etc.) were for two people.I asked to clean the room, but it was ignored! The hotel facilities are great, but not the staff!Sorry it was not a good experience for me and my family! Do not repeat my mistake, the facilities of a complex along with the good attitude of its staff are useful.
