An older property but great location near a train station and a hop on hop off tour bus stop.

Staff really good and helpful. A good breakfast each day. Really central in the old city for easy access to all areas. Well recommended

The hotel is exactly in the center city. It's walkable. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

It's an old residence turned into a very nice specialty hotel. Staff is nice and the location is excellent.

I loved this place. It was old and quaint but clean. A tropical sitting area and a skylight with a ton of history in photos all over the walls. We climbed the many stairs to the rooftop lookout twice. What a view!! The continental breakfast was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful even giving us suggestions for day tours and arranging taxi's. Very close to the historical centre with churches and museums as well as many shops and restaurants. But remember, this hotel is 400 years old so the old wood floors creak and the walls are not soundproof. If you want modern with all the bells and whistles, this is not the place. Thats what I loved about it.

This hotel is in a great spot to explore the old part of Quito. Just walk out the door to see the numerous squares, churches, and shops. The taxi took about an hour to get there from the airport. This was arranged by the hotel. Jimmy is an excellent host and resource for your tours and any questions. We went on a tour to Mindo and a day tour to a volcano and the equator. There is a big police presence in the old town but we felt safe all the time. The area shuts down early, around 7. Just in time to see the beautiful evening lights. This is a hotel with lots of character.

The restored house was a lovely place to stay, with a lot of history. The room was very large and comfortable. It was safe during the daytime, but in that area of Quito, we did not walk after dark.

Such a cool stay! The 4th building in Quito with incredible history. Wonderfully welcoming staff happy to share local restaurant favorites as well as the history of the building and Quito. The vibe is the breakfast area was fitting to the old jail quarters. The view from the top veranda: breathtaking! Loved walking right out to the Saturday bustle of OldTown Quito. Easy $20uber ride to and from the airport. Loved the quirks but definitely needed the sleep noise app. Windows to the hall for ventilation added to the vibe of this vintage stay.

Perfect location for exploring downtown Quito. Very secure property with a 6th floor terrace and panoramic view of the surrounding area. Very unique, historic property.

We stayed a few nights and was happy with the price paid and location. I arranged for airport pick up with the hotel but no one showed up. Fortunately, taxis were plentiful at the airport and cheaper. The hotel courtyard was beautiful, and the location of the hotel was perfect in the historical district. The room itself was very basic and very, very, noisy (from the layout of the hotel, other guests and no soundproofing). Breakfast was simple but adequate. Next time, I personally would stay elsewhere in the city where it is safer to walk at night, and take a cheap taxi to the historical district to visit.

The room was nice and i was given a heater because it was cold each evening since it was an older building. I was given an iron for my clothing and the concierge was very nice and helpful with providing info on the neighborhood. I used the public train to go to the Aero bus station w/o any problem from his directions. I just didn't have anyone ever change my linen/make my bed or give me clean towels from the time I came until I left from Thurs to Mon. I asked twice to receive them. It may have been do to it being a holiday and ppl were off. The breakfast was really good and the staff there was really nice.

We stayed three nights in this historic hotel. The hotel has lots of charm, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Located in the Centro Historica it was a short walk to the sights. The room was clean and the breakfast was good. Can be a bit noisy on the upper floors so might want to bring earplugs but the location more htna made up for that.

Lovely old and historical building converted to a hotel, however it lacks the comfort and facilities of a modern hotel, something to consider! The location is superb, right at the historic center!

One of the nicest place to stay in central Quito at this price point. Staff is super friendly/helpful. Courtyard is really pretty with a rooftop that opens. Amazing view from rooftop.

We spent 8 nights here. We started the first night in a room in the main building. The noise was so loud that we asked to move and were put on the 4 floor way in the back. We loved our new room minus all the stairs. But the old historic hotel really grew on us and all its flaws were easy to understand when you take into consideration how old the building is. The issue that can not be overlooked is SAFETY. This hotel requires you to buzz in and out of the building. Unlike other hotels in the historic district that have a security officer this one does not. You are relying on the one staff person after 6 pm to buzz you in. We were left outside ringing the buzzer over and over on two nights. Both nights were before 8 pm. The first night was for 10 minutes the second 20 minutes. An older gentleman stayed with us the second night because HE was scared for our SAFETY. The historic district is TOTALLY NOT SAFE AT NIGHT. YOU CAN NOT LEAVE YOUR GUESTS LOCKED OUT OF THE SAFETY OF THE HOTEL AND ON THE STREETS AFTER DARK. I spoke to the manager and the assistant manager the next day. Both apologized when I told them that the night guy was asleep before 8pm and not sure all the guests (maybe 6 rooms full) were in for the night. For this reason alone I can not recommend this hotel at all.

A wonderful , safe ,quiet place to stay....huge room....the breakfast in the 'cellar' downstairs was excellent, everything was fresh and homemade....very friendly and helpful staff...lovely old hotel that looks as good as the pictures online...nice shower with lots of hot water!!! Bottled water in lobby to refill your own water bottles, nice bonus !!

In historic district near plaza. Lots of activities and interesting events

First of all, the staff here is fantastic! They are beyond friendly and helpful, and we felt very lucky to have their help, advice, and good cheer. Sadly, though, I don't think I'd stay here again. The atrium is gorgeous, but the rooms are very dark (no windows), the bathrooms smell quite bad, the breakfast is not good, and it is rather loud, as people gather loudly in the atrium and all the rooms face there.

Being in an authentic colonial house with beautiful plants and arts. Friendly staff. Quiet rooms. And walking distance to historical places.

I liked the breakfast and the outdoor side of the hotel. The inside of the rooms were not that clean. The first room I had, had the pillow cases dirty like fungus and there was a skylight that covered part of bed and part of the shower….yes, the shower. There was no soap/shampoo in the room. The second room was better, but the pillowcases were also dirty.
