I have stayed at Breathtaker before and enjoyed both stays.The previous stay was prior to the recent renovations, which have tidied up the lobby & breakfast area for the better, however left the loft space feeling a lot less cosy and a bit sterile.Unfortunately this time, we experienced bad cooking odours and a fair degree of noise from a neighbouring apartment. The building doesnt have particularly great noise insulation, with scents seeming to waft via the shared vent system.Management did compensate us for the negative experience, which was reassuring that these concerns were taken on board. My previous visit seemed to be far less noisy in one of the smaller one storey appartments, where as he larger two storey apartment had serious noise and smell issues.Breathtaker is overall a great place to stay if you land a quiet room with quiet considerate neighbours. The spa is a pleasant place to restore and relax after a day out on he snow and staff seem to have improved since the previous visit, with terrific service and very polite attitude.

Hotel was selling itself as ski in/out. This was not totally correct. Whilst the walk was short you still had to walk 70m to the chair lift. The hotel is definitely on the snow but I would not class it as ski in/out based on my previous experience. (Having said that I have not booked any other ski in/out hotels on Hotel.com to know if this this is a normal classification for this style of accommodation). We stayed in a 6 bedroom room. 1 double bed and 4 bunks. The living room was tiny & did not have a view towards the snow or mountains. Kitchenette was unpractical to work in. These were the main disappointments. There are other rooms in the complex which I am sure would be better. The complex itself was very clean and professional. Breakfast included was lovely. The best croissants I have ever eaten. (supplied from the Mansfield bakery). The spa, sauna and lap pool in the complex were excellent. Would be better if they stayed open after 6:00pm. You have to try one of their desert pizzas, delicious.

The shower is very small and we can’t do late checkout so we have to checkout at 10.00am, because we don’t want to get the hotel management charge us and even you are staying with a kids at the age of 6, and you book a room for 2 adults, you have to pay charges for your kids 80$ per night

Friendly staff, wonderful kids play area and spa. Food is good too.

It was my daughters first time at the snow, and the whole trip was absolutely magical. The Breathtaker Hotel made our whole trip so enjoyable! The staff couldnt do enough to help us and went above and beyond from the moment we got there to when we left. The location couldnt have been more perfect, a short walk to the ski lifts, the ski school, and the village. Grimus ski hire was just next door and their service was also excellent. The only negative was that I wish there were healthier menu options, especially for the kids. Thank you!

The hotel is in a great spot, nice and central to the village especially with kids. They have everything you need as well if the weather is miserable then you can just stay in the hotel.The kids facilities needs a bit of a revamp.

Rooms are small though clean. Our room had a view of a snow packed verandah so you felt like you were in a shoebox. Breakfast was terrible.

The only toilet in the three bedroom apartment has a broken lock. No windows are openable and no keys provided, which is definitely a breach of fire safety. Called the reception and Valentina came deal with it very quickly. No lift, have to climb 5 floors to get to room, which is exhausting with young kid.

When paying $3000 for 1 room over 2 nights; one expects a modicum if service. Unfortunately, the majority of the breathtaker staff couldn’t facilitate this and made it clear that actually performing customer service is an inconvenience to their modus operandi. When we offered to wait until the final sitting at the restaurant was completed to dine (and pre-order if necessary so as not to prevent the chefs from finishing on time), we were simply told they couldn’t ‘fit us in’ and that we should ‘try our luck’ next door or in down. A charming result when paying so much for a hotel experience. It would have been very easy to fit is in for dinner (not to mention the substantial missed revenue for the restaurant). I would never stay or recommend breathtaker again.

It is excellent location for family with kids though a bit costly. But worth for it!

We stayed at Breathtaker as we were after a comfortable and quiet stay on the mountain. The staff were absolutely lovely and helpful, the room was comfortable and clean and overall the hotel is a great choice if looking for a hassle free relaxing stay with friendly staff to assist. Unfortunately my bathroom had a faulty shower door, which was not repaired prior to our stay despite staff being aware of this which was a little annoying as the shower was difficult to access as time passed. The resort requires a 50-100 meter walk down steps and over a fairly slippery icy walk to the ski runs with a small uphill section-I found keeping my ski/ board equipment at Grimus helpful however this is at extra cost. The breakfast room has great views but overall the food was underwhelming and the space rather crowded as everyone is heading out at similar times(especially on blue bird days), so it felt a bit stressed and cramped. The spa was fantastic and I would definitely recommend it. The staff were professional and excellent at their treatments. Some of the treatment rooms are absolutely stunning while others are OK. It really depends on where you get put on the day. The upstairs area- the loft is very cosy and convenient when travelling with kids. You can relax and not worry about the noise factor etc as everyone seems to be having to care for some kids and the kids seem preoccupied and overall relaxed :) Good change areas if arriving early or post checkout with skiing.

We stayed at the two bedroom suite. Clever and practical set-up of the room. Very helpful and friendly staff. Close to snow gear rental store and the ski school. Buffet breakfast starts from 7:30 in the morning, with breathtaking view. Totally recommend it.

Stay felt kind of mixed - 2 bedroom suite for designed for 6, very crowded with 2 adults and 3 children. The spiral stairs in our suite very poorly designed - heads frequently hit on metal corners, partly due to crowdedness of room and nowhere to move when everyone downstairs. Ladders on bunk beds not very secure. Not clear on website that pool is only for 18 plus. Luckily we had great weather for skiing and kids had no time to swim. Cleaners came into our room when out for early breakfast, which was a problem because we were also checking out that day at 10am. Kind of hard to shower and pack with two staff members cleaning?! However, overall ambience of hotel was nice. Convenient to beginners slope.

Only three seats for small dining table and a sofa for two to three in an apartment for up to six people, otherwise very good, breakfast was very good with the best pastries I have had in a hotel breakfast. Ski storage locker was also a very tight squeeze if we were all snow boarding our equipment wouldnt have fit. Locker and shower facilities for guests who have checked out are great.

This is the 2nd time I am staying at the Breathtaker, once again, I am greeted with wonderful friendly staff, everyone was helpful from the moment we checked in and everywhere we go within the property. I like the fact that we get help when we need but most of the time, we are left alone to mind our own business. I initially chose this location just for the proximity to the slope and ski school.
